Hey Jason…ph failed because of the bullet or the pin? My ph was 12 gauge slot in a Hawaiian sling mode. Greased well every time before a dive and sealed my 12 gauge with surf wax around the borders avoiding water inside cartridge . For me, That thing needs to work at 100% every time, when I used my 12…people around me knew that I used. Check your ph, maybe need to be lubricated, rust and sediment will work against you. Couldn’t get the spent round out of the real powerhead and the one I made didn’t go off. I think I was too close and the shaft didn’t get enough momentum yet but it’s hard to say
I’m sure if they are off the bottom it’ll pick it up. This was a known spot for blacks so we were going in anyway. It was also a backdive so we already knew they were there. The first guy said they were running and he couldn’t get a shot in the bad vis. We hit a few more spots and decided to come back for them.
@@georgebennett932 I have triggers for them, but haven’t started building them again. My shop got messed up and a hurricane recently so I have to rebuild and replace some tools. It’s been a good while since I’ve been able to get triggers as well so I’m not sure on the price point for them until I go through them by materials again.
The powerhead didn’t discharge so I didn’t kill him. It basically dumped him with zero penetration. It’s not like if you hit them with a shaft and a tear off and get away this one got no more than a scrape and will live just fine. My thought at the time was to leave before I stirred the whole place up so we could send the next guy right back in the water so he could get both of them.
If everything worked as planned the powerhead would’ve gone off and he would’ve been dead instantly and I would’ve pulled him out and then reload and sent a flopper shaft for the smaller fish in the first hole. I did not have a clear shot on the smaller fishes head which is the reason why I would not powerhead that one.
I’m pretty much at the top of my class for diving skills. I have people asking me how I do what I do all the time and have taught people how to do what I do. If you’re referring to me not free diving that’s another story.

It’s definitely fun. I’m not sure I’d like to do it full time but a day or two every couple weeks is nice.

This was a 357 but I’ve used 223-357-44 and 762x54 and all work.

I make them. I don’t really have a brand name but just got an order of triggers in last week and will be working on them in a few months
