  • Learn how to make heavily scented bath bombs! The ones that scent the entire bath room, water, & your skin! A normal recipe uses less than 2% fragrance; this one uses approximately 6%. You'll need is a powder that locks in oil. I use Natrasorb, but you can use other powders, click here for that list: • How To Make Heavily Sc...
    I recommend a high-quality, skin safe fragrance that doesn’t exceed 6% max usage rate.
    OIL-LOCKING POWDER: *** The max amount of liquid you can add depends on the powder you use. RECIPE: 24 grams Natrasorb powder, 12 milliliters fragrance, 2 milliliters polysorbate 80. Measure powder & wet ingredients separately. Add wet to powder & mix thoroughly. The powder will absorb the liquid & should be dry to the touch.
    BATH BOMB RECIPE: 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, 1/4 cup corn starch, 1 teaspoon Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa). + 15 milliliters fragrance, 3 milliliters polysorbate 80, 3 milliliters water. *The SLSa is optional; it makes bombs last longer & adds foam [or use sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, or sodium coco sulfate instead]. You may adjust ingredients & amounts as you see fit. Just know this may impact the final bath bomb. DIRECTOINS: Sieve dry & mix wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients slowly while whisking. Add fragrance/powder mixture, then thoroughly mix the batch & knead it with your hands. The mixture should hold together when squeezed. I added eco-friendly gold decoration to add more of a luxurious feel.
    MOLDING: I used a 2.5" mold & coated it with gold mica. Fill the mold & lightly pack it. Sprinkle loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh the 2 sides together tightly. Then tap both sides to release the bomb. Dry them for 24-48 hours, then package. TIP: After molding a few times the mica may stick to the mold & not the bomb. If this happens, rub mica on the bomb with your finger.
    PACKAGING: Cut a square of crepe paper & stretch the middle a bit. Place bomb in center & bring the 4 corners to the top. Gather loose material to make it tight around the bomb. Secure the top & tie ribbon or cord around it. Last, pull & adjust gathered material on top to make a full poof.
    This recipe makes 4, 2.5" bath bombs exactly. They should last up to a year but bath bombs are best used fresh. They loose effervescence over time. So, the sooner you use them, the better.

    I have waited for a new video from you 😍
    I have a question tho. When I mold my bath bombs they always stick to the mold. The mixture has to be extra dry to like not stick to the mold. But when I try to remove it from the mold fully and put it in the tray, it often end up crumbling and breaking and I have to remold. Do u have any tips? 😇

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  Год назад +1

      If its sticking then, to me, mix is too wet. But if they crumble, its not wet enough. Bombs are tricky & only practice makes perfect!

    Can one use nail pigment powders in bath bombs? And can one use food coloring powders in bath bombs as they also come in very pretty glittery (shimmery) shades. And the edible glitter, does it count as Eco glitter?

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  Год назад +1

      I am not sure about nail pigment powders but you can ABSOLUTELY use food related coloring & decoration & YES, the food decor would be considered eco friendly for sure (its actually better for the environment than eco friendly glitter)

    I am CONFUSED! I am a chemist who formulates personal care products and I am confused on the fragrance. You never mentioned at what point you added the Natrasorb/Fragrance mixture to the bomb. You just made that mixture and put it aside then made a regular bath bomb recipe and added fragrance. Are you adding in fragrance TWICE? You don't show where you added the Natrasorb/Fragrance mix. Please clarify.
