Yes, you can use regular shea butter or cocoa butter and melt it down to add to your liquid ingredients. Shea 50 is just a modified liquid form of shea butter. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m going into business for myself and I’m quite new to making bath bombs but I’m curious to know what type of bath bomb should I make with me living in las Vegas??
That is so exciting!! Welcome to the wonderful world of bath bomb making! I would think many type of bath bombs would sell well in Vegas, especially a relaxation/stress relief bath bomb with lavender or eucalyptus. You can never go wrong with Lavender or Eucalyptus!
Hi, ive decided to make my own bath bombs because im picky and want to add fragrance oils that won't irritate me or have my sinuses all over the place.. My question is what ingredient is used to keep the dye from clinging to the tub or me for that matter because i also want to color the water blue..
This is excellent, but it sounds/looks expensive to aquire all the ingredients. How much does it cost to make one batch of bath bombs and how much would you sell them for?
Ingredients are definitely getting expensive. They used to be at least half the price they are now! I make very large batches (over 6000g each) so one batch for me will be about $35. That will make about 34 bath bombs, making them a little over $1 each to make (my time not included). I sell them for anywhere from $6-$8 depending on the shop/market. I hope that helps! 🥰Thank you so much for watching my video!
Mine sunk at first, but then started to float halfway through. The epsom salt is a heavy ingredient, so the more epsom salt the more likely it is to sink. I hope this helps!
Are you supposed to put more than one bath bomb in the water? I don’t understand the size of bath bombs…It seems like every package of Epsom salts says to uses 2 cups of Epsom per bath…If you add baking soda and other ingredients isn’t that going to be way larger than most bath bombs?
You can definitely use multiple bath bombs, just depends on the size of the tub. You would have to make a very large bath bomb to get the full 2 cups for an full epsom bath. This is just a way to do a combination of both; epsom and bath bomb.
Adding dry milk makes your bath bombs fizz as well.
ooo thank you for the tip! I might start using that in my Oatmeal & honey bath bombs!
The dry milk foams more than fizz actually when you drop it in the water. Citric is what makes if really fizz.@@desertbathcompany
Great video, thanks for all the tips and answering questions!
When you dye the epson salt are you using the dye powder or lake powder?

Living in South Carolina.... I CACKLED at the humidity level of your basement 🤣🤣
Haha you are like a tropical climate compared to us! 🤣 So funny!!
@@desertbathcompany our humidity outside was 86% today 🤣
Holy guacamole! That’s way higher than I thought!
Okay super random and off topic- I see you have a horse in your photo. Is he/she yours?
@@desertbathcompany yes, that is Gatsby ☺️
Awww I love the name! I just got one in December, his name is Buster 😊
What is sosa?
It is Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate - SLSA
Do these float?
Mine sunk at first, but then started to float halfway through. The epsom salt is a heavy ingredient, so the more epsom salt the more likely it is to sink. I hope this helps!
Just fyi, that mini split has a dehumidification function 😁
I didn't even know that! It has been broken for some time, now I think I have a reason to fix it! Haha thank you!
