I remember snorkeling at pebble cove just next to the flying boat ramp in Avalon, Catalina. It always blew my mind to see the gooses land in the water just 100 yards away from me then taxi back to the ramp just around the corner. Cool memories.

As a high school kid on Catalina Island in the late 70s I spent a few summers and after school/weekends working as a ramper for Catalina Airlines. We had a number of Goose and various helicopters. The Goose pilots were all WWII vets and the helicopter pilots were mostly Vietnam vets. All of them were just wonderful people. The sound and smell of those radial engines is something that'll stay with me for ever. I was also lucky enough to have visited the Aviation Museum in Anchorage with The Wife a few years back, what a blast. Great job guys!
