Brazilian here. Obviously happy. But Simone proved how a true champion should behave. Such a class act. So humble. Leading by example. She’s the complete package. An Olympic Goddess.
When you are as exceptional as Simone Biles, you KNOW who is elite or not, in your sport. And Biles knows, Andrade is one of the truly most elite gymnasts ever. In the Tokyo Olympics, Andrade missed the AA Gold by just some fraction of a point, due to her out of bounce, by a few centimeters, which allowed Lee to take it. Here, Andrade also was about just one point away from Biles... So, naturally, when Biles was out of bounce, on FX, Andrade would naturally win the Gold... Thus, the show of respect and the acknowledgement of Andrade's great gymnastics, by the goat herself. Very appropriate!
Don’t forget Simone said “I’m tired of competing again Rebecca it’s getting too close. I’m getting uncomfortable.” She said it in a way of endearment and she gave her the credit that she is a rockstar!

As an American (USA),I was excited that Rebeca got Gold. Of course I’m always cheering for the home team but each podium, Rebeca has been patient, she established herself as one of my favorite gymnasts last Olympics. I’m just so glad she was able to have this moment. Congratulations to Simone and Jordan as well. This olympic cycle has been refreshing with all the women supporting each other.

What I love is how Rebeca always has a smile on her face even after Simone beats her. And the fact that Simone would always cheer for her routines like she's a teammate just goes to show how much they respect each other. I was genuinely happy that Simone and Jordan did bow down to her. It was cute, sweet, funny, and heartwarming. I'm just glad these girls were having fun even if the competition was intense. You have to remember these girls have been competing against each other since they were kids. The sportsmanship is off the charts y'all!
No surprise at all - Andrade is as gifted as any gymnast, including Biles. This was Andrade’s time. Biles is the G.O.A.T. and her legacy will live on, even when she is unable to sustain her highest level of performance. However, Andrade, and other gymnasts of her caliber, are equally legendary in their own right. For this competition, Andrade was perfection and earned her place at the top of the podium.
The sportsmanship and camaraderie during this Olympics is just incredible. They're really shifting the gymnastics environment to something so positive.❤
Simone also said during the Olympics that she and Rebecca are friends. You could often see Simone hug and congratulate Rebecca following her performances throughout the gymnastic events. Great sportsmanship Simone!!!!! ❤️🥰❤️

Jordan Chiles's difficulty score is higher than the judges originally credited her. Your score is comprised of a combination of two scores: difficulty and execution. her coach who knew her difficulty level submitted an inquiry into her difficulty score, the skill in question was reviewed, the submission was accepted and the score was updated to correct the oversight made by the judges. The Romanian gymnast who got bumped down to 4th place while cleaner in execution also has a lower difficulty threshold. If anything Chiles almost got robbed of the medal she rightfully earned over a judging mistake that shouldn't have happened to begin with. If advocating for your start value makes Chiles a thief in your eyes then so be it. btw, all federations have the right and ability to inquire regarding a difficulty score, as Italy did earlier in the same floor final, and should if the MATH isn't mathing.

Rebecca didn't fall on beam in the final. She watered her routine down to play it safe due to watching so many people fall. Without the connection points and bonuses she put up a 13.9 on beam, which was not enough to make the podium -- Bronze was 14.00 Silver was 14.1 and Gold was 14.366. Her qualification score was 14.5 so she took a risk watering it down and the risk just didn't pay off. She didn't have any major errors in her beam routine, she just removed too much difficulty to make the podium.
She preferred to preserve herself for the floor so she decreased to guarantee the bronze, We all hoped that the grade would be better, but they gave it as a gift to France...
I don’t think she was planning to water it down, it happened during the routine… if she hadn’t had that initial balance check she would’ve probably linked the other 2 skills and gotten the bonus.

Just one correction: Rebeca didn't fall on the bean, she actually completed her series without any big issues, but she removed a connection in the beginning of in her series and that lowered her difficulty score, resulting in a score slightly below 3rd place.
Brazil almost never wins anything in other sports, so Rebecca's victory means a lot to us, it reminds us of our eternal Daiane dos Santos! Brazil is a country that encourages and invests 0% in sports other than football, so just by being in the Olympics, Rebecca is already a victorious warrior. 🎉❤🇧🇷

This isn't negative in any way and I'm saying this as a brazilian. Simone is known to get high scores with her routine and Rebeca usually comes second to her. I actually thought it'd be Rebeca with the gold on Vault and Simone on Floor, yet the roles were reversed 😅

Just one correction: Rebeca didn't fall on the bean, she actually completed her series without any big issues, but she removed a connection in the beginning of in her series and that lowered her difficulty score, resulting in a score slightly below 3rd place.
