      Yeah. Great truck. At SEMA they had an R2.8 Cummins diesel 4cyl crate engine they are selling. One brochure had a 1g 4runner with it. 330lb/ft of torque...30mpg they were getting....that makes that a damn worthy investment. Check into it if you havent seen it before.

      4runners are definitely in abundance out in Las Vegas. People build the hell out of these trucks out here. Northeastern US you barely see them surviving, they're all rusted to hell. Ga, there weren't many built, and most are 2wd. Out west clean 4x4 4Runners are just every damn where...lol

    Great video! I owned the first 4Runner to ever arrive in Flagstaff, AZ ( an 84 I believe). Black. 4 speed manual, 4 cylinder. I traded my 83 S10 Blazer on it. I immediately went to the local 4WD shop and had Gleason Torque sensing differentials installed front and rear. I did a lot of off roading all over the deserts and high altitude forests of AZ in those vehicles. And plowed thru lots of deep snow. Miraculously, I never got stuck in the 4Runner and it never broke. Then, because I got to wanting a more comfy ride, ater I had moved to Layton, UT, I traded it in on a 1st Gen, 87 Nissan Pathfinder as soon as they showed up in town. Sometimes I regretted that, but that Pathfinder was a great vehicle in it's own right. I had no lockers and no sold axles in the front, but it was way more comfy and not bad off road. But after I moved back to MS, I put some of the new Goodyear mud tires(same model as on the military Hummer, but smaller of course) and boy would that thing do great in MS mud! I miss both of those vehicles! I will be following all of your adventures with these old SUVs! I may get one myself!

    It really boils down to this the motors in these generations of Toyotas the 22RE / 22R are some of the very best engines Toyota ever built although a little noisy with solid lifters it will last forever I’ve seen these with 400 even 500,000 miles with no rebuild the trick to keeping these engines is one simple thing never ever let it get hot

    • @KnightDriveTV

      That is Canyon Rd in Boulder City, NV (Boulder Canyon). The "road" isn't visible on any off road or trail maps, but is basically used to take mountain bikers to the top of the mountain to run the downhills. It's also access to the VOR antenna at the top. Cool place that overlooks pretty much all of Vegas...awesome sight at night or during 4th of July.

And how much 12k - 18k ? Probably

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  4 года назад +2

      Things like that were often dealer add-ons to increase the sticker price. Where did your 4runner get sold from, do you know the original dealership by any chance? I will have to ask Josh if he has determined where his originated. I'd bet it was a specific dealer.
