Nice 4runner. We own one and we bought it brand new. Everything original and in mint shape. 100% no rush because never been driven out for 25 yrs. Garage kept and only comes out when there's a car show. Glad we kept it
The Golden Age foe Toyota. They were making so many excellent models during this era, and all were superbly built and totally reliable. Back in the day, I owned 2 Hilux's, an MR2 Turbo and a Celica...All brilliant.
That light plugs into the socket just to the left of the fuel release door knob inside of the truck just in case you haven’t figured it out. You’ll see it it has two vertical line and a round hole. Can’t miss it. At 4:38.
It was for a hand held light attached to a long cord. It plugged into that socket for power. Think it was an over the counter accessory that you could purchase through Toyota parts department back in the day. Also it could have came with some models.
I have an 86’ 4Runner and I was curious how big of a difference did the Bilsteins make? My truck still has the Factory shocks LOL Are the Bilsteins worth the Coin? Thanks In advance.
No need to be ashamed, restorations are tough! I've never done one myself. Cool trucks, though. Hope you're able to get yours to where you want it eventually.
"some sort of liquid bladder? Really?"Did you actually touch this vehicle? Maybe try filling that "liquid bladder" with kitty litter or windshield washer and see what works best!

Very cool. Thank you for that answer. Was that stock from Toyota?
Yes not sure if all models got it. I think just the SR5 model.
I have a rust free 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed, what does that light lug/socket by the fuel door handle do?

@@dandorris8531 WOW, thanks! I also knew what the "SR5" stood for when almost everyone didn't know what SR5 is. it is Sport Rally 5 speed.
Beautiful 4Runner...rebuilding mine right now.
The original owner did a good job taking care of the truck👍
What are you using to record this? Quality looks insane!!!!!!!!!!
That's not a truck, that's a time machine.
Indeed. And it did very well on Bring a Trailer as a result, too!
@@DesertMotors you did a great job taking good care of it, you deserve every dollar of it! Thanks for sharing the video!
Clean looking rig. Those old Toyota's are one of a kind! Glad I still have my 88, in the process of giving it a major overhaul after 32 years. ✌️🏜️
Love my 08. Would absolutely love one of the 1st gens w that 22R Turbo.
That is one clean 4Runner
What’s was the colour code for the interior?
There is a socket for the light under the dash where the the obd plug would be if the truck had one.
Wow, really nice truck. I have one 4runner 1986 but its not turbo:)
Phenomenal!!!!! 😍😍
It's a nice one ! . When you decided to sale it , please let me know ! . Thanks...

Beautiful truck!
I have this type of truck but its 3y engine(Japan)..I will try to restore or sale..but this kind of truck are so cool to drive.
That's not the original paint, color yes, but look at the wheel wells and the frame, inside rear wheel opening you see over spray on all these areas.
sweet and clean ride though.
looks like under the hood a trumpet horn or loudspeaker
FJ40's had a plug in the glove box. Not sure about the 4runner? I will have to look around on mine.
Hi can I ask what size tires you put on this? Looking to do the same. Also which leaf packs did you go with? Thanks!
I installed 35's and 5:29 gears on my rust free 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed.
Mintier than a peppermint leaf 🍃
