"Trickin Pickin" performed by Doug Waterman
Given the look of your ship, they might have thought you spying on their missile test :)
...either that or the Mongols were trying to invade again. All a matter of perspective and divine winds. :)
I had to think about that for a second. Funny!!!!
@@Chris-ut6eqmongols are landlocked
@@beepboopsloane Not in 1274 & 1281 :)
Great to see Betsy on board!
I had the excitement of running into the no-go zone of the Bush River by Aberdeen Proving Grounds during a live fire test. They were very cool about it.
Love the educational info Doug keep it up been watching from Australia pretty much from the start of the build i can relate if need to build something and don't know how we learn how love that happy for you 👍
Have you considered installing headlights at positions around the hull below the line (so you don't get glare) of the gunnel, individually switched.. I've had a pair of rally car (not road legal, really bright) lights on the bow, now swapping over to LED (12v CREE house or shed floodlights, a box of 10 fairly cheap). Then hidden (no glare) lighting for the deck, white and red.
Have a look at the house type LED replacement bulbs some are 12v tiny encapsulated, I use a choc block to connect to the two pins and make the light holders.
I keep wondering about a fire lighting effect for the mouths of the dragon's..
Good to see your having fun 😻
Yeah, that sounds like a good plan before I try a night entry alone.
The US Army shot missiles into the Mediterranean from Crete, and they cleared out that impact area too. Ours was hypergolic liquid propellant and oxidizer that was deadly if inhaled. Getting out of the area was very wise.
It’s supposed to be a weapon, so I’d be a little disappointed if it was not deadly. I hope I’m getting something from my tax dollars :-)
Excitement at Sea enjoyed riding along thanks for the video!
Another nice video Doug!
Glad to see some sailing. The floating workshop stuff is ok, the life lessons are humorous, but the actual sailing is the draw for me. Love to see it. Congrats on being a voyager with your marvelous ship.
a white board by the radio is great, you start writing as soon as ya hear numbers and think after
How about a sticky note? Blocks out less view of the ocean. : )
@@SVSeeker same, same.
You might be able to call 1800-wxbrief can tell them you're a boat captain and they should have updates on live fire exercises. At least that's one way us pilots find out about such things. I've heard farmers, boat captains and other people can call the number to get information.
Nice to see Betsy. She has been down in the bilge with all us Bilge Rats fomenting Mutiny.
fomenting, good word!
Dave check your Chart Catalog and there should be a chart with the W-Warning and R-Restricted areas in the gulf. If they are not on the surface Charts you may have to get an Aeronautical Chart
Fox 3.
LOL
You probably should have got a navtext navigational warning message on that exercise, via vhf . Do you have navtext reci- ver?
that feeling when you aren't sure if a radar homing missile will suddenly kill you
Ha! We did have the radar on. We tested it's alarm feather as we sailed by the permitter watch boats.
Eastern time zone for Zulu time is minus 5 now, obviously minus 4 when day light savings comes.
they knew a spy vessel would show up
If you need hand held spot lights. Harbor Freight Hercules brand has a boss of a light.
No. But I'm thinking about some of those light bars they put on pickups that can be temporarily attached. : )
You are sailing close to a very big Navy base. When they fire anything they don't want you anywhere near the flight of it.
could you imagine, take 10-12 years to build a boat, then gets sank by a stray missle lol
Not really, that was a BIG hunk of Gulf they had fenced off. : )
BETSY🙌
Good to see you sailing around the place. Is there any blue water in your future? And are concerned about how much water you ship over your bow in some conditions?
Yes and that amount of water is nothing. : )
What about a gimbal bed?
Yeah. I saw a whaling vessel at Mystic Seaport. The Captains bed was like a cradle suspended at both ends.
Isn't that called a hamik??
I'd like to hear the conspiracy theory on what they are really doing. "You're going to see a lot of boats"? For a missile test? I would ask what are they unearthing from the depths now?
Going to visit abom79 Pensacola?
Already have but maybe it time for another lunch with Adam. He has great picks for local food.
@@SVSeeker for sure! Adam and food are a match! Hahaha bbq, smoked meat and other stuff are his and her side passion!
Loved the video it was interesting I learned a few things let’s see more videos 😂 it helps me to keep pushing for my dream see yall on the horizon one day
Awesome. Send us a photo of what you're building. svseeker@ymail.com
So you basically had to unplug the cable box and plug it back in..... 🤣🤣
Yes. Just like Microsoft Windows.
any way to just type the coordinates into ur laptop and have them show up on the navi?
Not that I know of. It's actually easier on the B&G chart plotter that it was in Navionics.
you need to learn to read charts and dead reckoning
Yes Mother
With the growing tensions with China, I bet you're regretting your choice of boat design? 😁
Don't forget that the last naval battle of WWII was fought by US Soldiers on a Chinese Junk against a Japanese vessel. And they prevailed.
Now I know why so many committed Seppuku? the shame 🤣@@SVSeeker
@@SVSeekerIs there a Utube video of that?

👍
Doug thanks for not being a butt. Even though the boat driver was in the air farce. My Son retired out of the Navy. Super hornet wrench. Love and respect.
Those guys looked so board. Only one man per boat.
Cheers Doug.

@@jonny-b4954 you want to hear me say it
Creative people can do that. I have six ways to spell spigattee
😊 Egg-lin Air Force Base. Somewere they publish closures in advance for whisky warning areas off shore. You can have missiles, air to air cannon training rounds, burning airplane targets, and all other kinds of fun stuff rain on your head under those things.
I think they enjoyed having something to do.
@@SVSeeker
They were probably slightly concerned about the type of vessel, red sails and the origin...
Can you imagine the radio conversation...
"Err.. Your not going to believe this ... We've just spotted a Chinese Junk" ... 🤔
@@mySeaPrince_ LOL Don't forget they are airforce. : )
I have same cooking pan Doug... to make my taco sauce ....yum yum
How is your boss doing, she hasn't had to take Dramimean yet?
I'm my own boss, and Dramamine is awesome. Just take it early on.
Wonderful to see SVSeeker on the water Doug. Hope you and Betsy are doing well. Guy T
My son was stationed at Eglin AFB working on F35s.
He was likely having more fun that the guys they put on the permitter. They sort of looked like they had been assigned to peal potatoes.
Doug I really want to see the team on your ship to do the exploration you talked about for years. I know you want to make it a sailing experience that we all can enjoy. You may wind up to be the next Jauces Costeau.
Redneck Jauces Cousteau. : ) ...and that is still the plan.
I should have said something to you before about the AIS, I track a few RUclipsrs on an app called Marine traffic and you disappeared and was saying you were filtered out, I didn’t think it might have been a fault your end 😊 I have just checked it again and it’s still not showing you as live on the app 😮
Ha! Very cloak and dagger. You can also follow us on here: share.garmin.com/SVSeeker
he was just taking delivery of Russian crude oil ;-p
No problem here but EGLIN is pronounced egg Lynn.
No matter they are likely going to change that name of that one too so none of will have a clue what you're talking about.
Fun stuff! Did you ever see any rockets?
Nope. I need to go see a Starship launch.
Welcome to the upper gulf and panhandle. I worked the missions and been one of the boat that runs the blocker line to keep boats out.
Awesome. We decided they should issue you guys fishing rigs. Something to break up the long hours of bobbing around out there. And thanks for your patience. : )
All's good on the edge of the danger zone. So e breakfast that.
Ya got to have your priorities straight.
Tax me more please
Shhhhh They are listening. : )
Happy Sails Captain
Another great vid., mate!
Glad you enjoyed it
gaining more experience, just what you love!
