Katie, We appreciate the depth of the work you put into exposing the reality of life inside religious cults of all types. The recurring themes of absolute patriarchy and the lesser-than status of women and girls are harmful to everyone caught up in these "lifestyles". Another common thread is secrecy. That's self explanatory, really. If you have to keep the inner-workings of your religious ideals and customs a secret from the law and/or the public at large, it's because the people making the rules are doing things that are wrong. And they know it. Thank you Katie, for shining a light into the dark places and pushing for people victimized in these cults to stand up for themselves and find a way out.

I feel so bad for Christine, that she was raised to believe being treated like that by her husband was acceptable and normal and expected, even. She really believed her worth was tied up in being a yes woman to her husband and pumping out children. I'm so glad she got out, but lots of women remain in that bubble. So frustrating.
Polygamy propoganda is such an accurate description! TLC cosigns the emotional, verbal and financial abuse, while pitting victims against each other as they vie for the attention of the narcissist who benefits from it all.
In some case we all who keeps watching it, keep it up as well. Yes TLC are the one who put the show out and TLC are absolutely soulless and only is about the money. But if nobody would watch their shows they would be forced to cancel them. So even if TLC airs it, we as watchers have a responsibility in what we watch and condones to. People like drama, the worse the more drama, people love it and love watching it. Really sad.
And we're fueling their success by watching the show and feeding their algorithm by watching these commentaries and commenting on them. Ife we're really against this, I'd guess we'd just not engage. But they know how to engage us! Vicious circle

I agree. I think TLC sold us a bill of goods and led us to believe this was one big happy family. It seems that TLC has a tendency to do this with their shows.
Seems to me the original promo for the show was ,can this family survive the addition of a 4th wife? Well..... .it didn't. At least not in the same form.
Cody hasn't been a parent to Truly since she was born! He sure isn't going to start now! Truly actually feels uncomfortable around Cody the last time we watched.
Co-parenting with Kody? I don’t believe that Christine thinks she’s going to have a co-parenting relationship with him…she never really had that throughout her whole marriage.
What needs to happen is David Woolley needs to adopt truly and Cody doesn’t even need to sign anything because he hasn’t even claimed her as his own so he’s got nothing to show or say for it they can do everything without him. I think that David Wooley should be set up as a loving stepfather for. Truly.

I may be wrong, but I do not think his name is on their birth certificates. (That allowed the wives to file for bankruptcy and food stamps/SNAP.) He never carried those original biological children on medical insurance--IF he ever had medical insurance. Robyn made the statement that she "treated Kody like her best customer". To me, that sounded like she was a prostitute. And essentially, Kody acted like a "John"--he enjoyed the benefits but was never responsible for their well-being!
Is TLC going to fake a relationship with Truely to show her at Robyn's house, or Kody spending 5 minutes with her while passing thru Utah to visit Mykelti? There might be some more scenes with Robyn, Kody, Tony and Mykelti. Logan isn't interested in the show and I am certain Kody wants nothing to do with now Leon/then Mariah. Maybe Mykelti's comment on her Patreon that Kody had lunch with Janelle's boys to try to repair his relationships, is simply to repair Kody's image. Hopefully, it's not content for the show.
Prior to Christine leaving he was not visiting her. I think she kinda likes the attention from dad that she never received. I just hope that is what happens when she is there.
There is no way Robyn will allow Kody to get involved with Aurora and Breanna that way. If for no other reason then not having the attention on her, unless she's willing to do anything to avoid working. Nothing would surprise me with Sobbyn.
I'm 35, grew up in the same group, and my parents even went on TV at one point; I don't know anybody who has been arrested solely for polygamy since the 80's. They only pursue charges when there is abuse involved. I'm not downplaying the fear the kids probably had - they instill that from the beginning to keep them quiet. Edit: I'm not implying that this isn't abuse. It is. I lived it. The fear is awful.

Robin is sick, and that house is huge. A lot of places for him to sneak around. The scene where the oldest daughter and him were crying because he and Robin had covid and she had to isolate in a different part of the house was weird too.
Oh my God!! I just get sick over that kind of thing. Awful isn't strong enough. It's bad enough when it's a family friend or stranger but her own father is a frigging nightmare. I can not imagine.
I doubt Kody knew what grades his children were in or what their teachers names were at the time, except for maybe Solomon and Ari’s. These women acted as single moms. They handled everything in-house when it happened and they couldn’t wait for Kody. Christine is not going to be calling Kody about Trulys school unless there’s an absolute emergency or extenuating circumstance. Christine is a capable mom and she will handle things and keep Kody how do distance.
But it’s designed for HIM to just make more babies for heavenly descent and the women’s job to raise them. Man gave her seed and it’s her responsibility now for Gods sake. As much as I’m cheering on Christine and David’s relationship, I’m now questioning his motives. I can’t imagine him being associated with Kody in any way. I watched last year to watch Christine leave, but I am done with the show, this season. It is a fraud. They are not Sister Wives. Kody and Robyn are monogamous. And mostly, Kody is abusive to the women and horrible to 90% of his kids!! Watching Gabe be devastated to move his senior year and then sob because of his sperm donater was the last straw. I won't give them my time!

I dont see Christine as a Victim. I see the kids as Victims. Christine was the biggest promoter of this lifestyle and even coined the saying on show. "Love Should Be Multiplied Not Divided". Even when fans asked in first seasons "dont you have Jealousy?" and she was very out spoken that "there is no Jealousy we love each other like sisters". Also that fact child abuse was going on and it was never reported is a very big problem in its self.

It seems like the Browns for 13 years have survived off TLC's paychecks.....they just don't want to give up the money...I say end the show....Kody has only been intimate with Robin since she entered the scene, and the other wives were not wives anymore not legally or intimate which makes this show lie after lie. This show is all about Kody's ego as most of the children are grown and are their own except for the last three. END this show!!!!!!
All of this is why I believe nothing from them. I have always thought the wives leaving was a storyline for ratings. I thought the same about Christine getting engaged. They're cons and grifters. They always have been. What Christine is saying now makes NO sense, the opposite of what she said as things ended. Why would she bring this new wonderful love into life with Cody? If they are planning to keep it on the air they need to add more variety to the show. Vacations, holidays, family activities, visiting other families, hobbies, businesses, or visiting the grown kids need to be woven back into the show. I'm a little over the divorce drama being the main theme.
I know Christine considers herself as sister wife but I think for her and Janelle especially, the sisterhood doesn’t end. She divorced Kody, not Janelle. She “divorced” Meri and Robyn before she divorced Kody. It’s not a straight up split as in monogamy. This is just my interpretation. 😅
@@Ripleys_mom technically she isn’t. But she also said she still feels like a sister wife to Janelle and no matter what they would be close on one of the episodes of her moving. They both acknowledged their circumstances changed but not their feelings for each other. They’ve also proved that off camera.
There is no possible way that many people live in such close quarters have as peaceful, happy life as they presented. The proof of that is, look at the family today, it has totally fallen apart. That didn't happen overnight.
Whether or not they are sister wives is irrelevant at this point. They will be separate families and follow each story and I think Christine will get the most airtime. We’ll see what happens.

The "Pure Seed" stuff is one of the most disturbing things I've heard in a while, I grew up back in Mexico in the same state where LeBaron family lives and I did hear some stuff about them before the massacre happened

I do not think we ever saw one big happy family. I always saw the tensions and distrust between the wives and how wierd many of Cody’s actions and reactions.
The reason the wives were allowed to collect forms of welfare is likely bc they had separate entrances bc under state and federal regulations, if you have children in common under the same roof, you're the same as married, but separate entrances make them separate domiciles. Food stamps don't require any action against the absent parent but Medicaid would. I wonder if that's one reason they terminated the rights of Robyn's ex (aka the actually biological father of her children). I worked in social services throughout the state of Utah in multiple capacities for years until just recently, so lmk if you ever have questions! Also, would love to hear your thoughts or knowledge on why he hasn't spoken out. Is he under a legal had order? And if so, why would he do that and what does he have to gain?
Why would we watch Kody & Robyn and his 3 ex wives? Are they going to show us what’s going on with each family? It’s strange to me. Plus the kids don’t want anything to do with the show so I can see it getting really boring really fast! Talk about dirty little secrets! This is so disgusting!
I think they could branch out with each of the wives families and see how they manage their new lives. If they decide to reenter polygamy. How the kids decide to deal with the fall out of kody. Theres several avenues that could be explored

I think fans have forgotten that Christine was the spokeswoman and staunch supporter of polygamy for a very long time long before Sister Wives had begun. She was also AUB royalty and, as such, taught others in her church youth group about polygamy. IMHO, it will be difficult for her to leave all of the teachings and dogma behind😒

Hearing this information makes me wonder if the risk of arrest wasn’t JUST about the four wives, but perhaps they got wind of the other issues going on behind closed doors as well. The kids are now saying that they were dealing with physical and emotional abuse by Meri during their childhood. There are also many more issues according to the grown children now. It would be interesting to know exactly why they left without any charges being official. 🤷♀️
One of my dad's brothers got divorced 30+ years ago, to this date I still call his ex my aunt. My uncle remarried, and although I like her very much I have never thought of her as my aunt, I just use her 1st name. Christine and Jeanelle can still call each other sister wives if they want to. I suspect both of them might refer to Meri and Robyn EX-sister wives

Honesty, when Maddie shared her daughters limb deformity I had a thought about it being possibly due to incest, because her husband is her aunts brother in law, or something like that. Who knows if theyre actually closer in blood relation.
From the child of divorced parents when I was 17, I think even when you are an an adult, parents need to work together to coparent. It’s so hard to have multiple Christmas parties, birthdays. Would be nice to see if they can still be effective coparents and grandparents. It really puts the adult child in a bad position when you have to be the go between. I’d like to see them be successful in communicating and sharing holidays even with divorces.
This!!! I’m getting married this fall and we decided to elope/micro wedding and have my two closest grandparents present instead of my parents. I’m currently dealing with the fall out of telling my mother that plan. They divorced when I was 13 and I’m 26 now. They had 8 years of (now expired) restraining orders and I’ve had nearly a decade of therapy. 💀

I may be wrong, but I do not think his name is on their birth certificates. (That allowed the wives to file for bankruptcy and food stamps/SNAP.) He never carried those original biological children on medical insurance--IF he ever had medical insurance. Robyn made the statement that she "treated Kody like her best customer". To me, that sounded like she was a prostitute. And essentially, Kody acted like a "John"--he enjoyed the benefits but was never responsible for their well-being!
Is TLC going to fake a relationship with Truely to show her at Robyn's house, or Kody spending 5 minutes with her while passing thru Utah to visit Mykelti? Maybe Mykelti's comment on her Patreon that Kody had lunch with Janelle's boys to try to repair his relationships, is simply to repair Kody's image. Hopefully, it's not content for the show.

I'm 35, grew up in the same group, and my parents even went on TV at one point; I don't know anybody who has been arrested solely for polygamy since the 80's. They only pursue charges when there is abuse involved. I'm not downplaying the fear the kids probably had - they instill that from the beginning to keep them quiet.

I watched last year to watch Christine leave, but I am done with the show, this season. It is a fraud. They are not Sister Wives. Kody and Robyn are monogamous. And mostly, Kody is abusive to the women and horrible to 90% of his kids!! Watching Gabe be devastated to move his senior year and then sob because of his sperm donater was the last straw. I do not think we ever saw one big happy family. I always saw the tensions and distrust between the wives and how wierd many of Cody’s actions and reactions.
The reason the wives were allowed to collect forms of welfare is likely bc they had separate entrances bc under state and federal regulations, if you have children in common under the same roof, you're the same as married, but separate entrances make them separate domiciles. Food stamps don't require any action against the absent parent but Medicaid would. I wonder if that's one reason they terminated the rights of Robyn's ex (aka the actually biological father of her children). I worked in social services throughout the state of Utah in multiple capacities for years until just recently, so lmk if you ever have questions! Also, would love to hear your thoughts or knowledge on why he hasn't spoken out. Is he under a legal had order? And if so, why would he do that and what does he have to gain?

Hearing this information makes me wonder if the risk of arrest wasn’t JUST about the four wives, but perhaps they got wind of the other issues going on behind closed doors as well. The kids are now saying that they were dealing with physical and emotional abuse by Meri during their childhood. There are also many more issues according to the grown children now. One of my dad's brothers got divorced 30+ years ago, to this date I still call his ex my aunt. My uncle remarried, and although I like her very much I have never thought of her as my aunt, I just use her 1st name. Christine and Jeanelle can still call each other sister wives if they want to. I suspect both of them might refer to Meri and Robyn EX-sister wives

From the child of divorced parents when I was 17, I think even when you are an an adult, parents need to work together to coparent. It’s so hard to have multiple Christmas parties, birthdays. Would be nice to see if they can still be effective coparents and grandparents. It really puts the adult child in a bad position when you have to be the go between. I’d like to see them be successful in communicating and sharing holidays even with divorces.

I’m currently dealing with the fall out of telling my mother that plan. They divorced when I was 13 and I’m 26 now. They had 8 years of (now expired) restraining orders and I’ve had nearly a decade of therapy. 💀
