@@ambreaull7218 I did not grow up in the polygamy world or faith. But main stream Mormon and I have left. While I understand it can be very different, the deconstruction is very real still for me. I am still married to my husband who is still a believer of the Mormon church, so it’s hard because I am deconstructing alone in some ways. But I still have a husband. I am one of the fewer who is in a mixed faith marriage. However I can still see him wanting to play the priesthood leader card to me occasionally. And I just politely walk away for a little. We both have boundaries. And we are trying to make a balance. But it sounds like Kristyn is amazing and helpful and I can understand how important that is. I have a friend who is my sounding board and I am so grateful for that. Also there is a community that is gone when you leave a faith like this. And Kristyn would be amazing to have as friend on the outside. I think that has to be a very hard part, but it’s great to have people help as you start over in many ways. ❤
The recent events on this "reality" show, showed Kody Brown's true, oppressive nature: all the show did was reveal that this 'average polygamist family' was just as abusive towards three of the wives as polygamists have been historically been known for. If this show was to help the public change their attitude about Polygamy, it has only reinforced the negative stigma associated with this lifestyle.
Ugh, this makes me sick. If this is true, Kristyn, Christine and Janelle need to start their own show about how they escaped a dysfunctional organization and make it independent from a major TV network. I would absolutely watch that.

Not everyone gets to chose how many children they have tho. Not everyone get to choose the circumstances that happened to them after they have children.
After I got out of the FLDS it struck me like a lightning bolt that we, as women, betrayed ourselves, each other, our daughters and nieces and all women by putting on our "keep sweet" smiles and lying about how "happy" we were.

It’s amazing original reason TLC came to be a channel is they were actually called the Learning channel. when it start it was more like public television programming/and documentaries. it was really good. I was quite young and I used to watch some of the shows. but the rating was not that good.They were not making money so that’s why they become this way I think.
Great video, Katie! Krysten is correct the producers set the storyline, edit for drama and ratings. However, as a cast member it is your choice to condone or condemn. I do believe this is one reason Christine, Janelle and Meri do not always speak up. Robyn is more than happy to critique her sister wives yet pretends she wants a relationship. Whole facts 💯! I'm a married woman of 26 years w/7 sons, so polygamy wasn't for me, but I do believe it can be done successfully. Isn't it ironic how prior to Robyn joining the family Kody's time was successfully distributed by the 3 women 🤔??? I don't believe how a man w/4 wives, 18 kids & everybody living in separate houses could be successful. Heck, I still question if I gave my husband & my children equal time/attention & my honest opinion is no. Usually the kids that didnt need me as much, got the least amount of time. If you think about how everyone has a different personality, different needs and different experiences, it's almost impossible to treat everyone equally. Kody's narcissistic nature made him think he could do it, and he failed miserably in the end. I feel so sorry for the kids.

I think she could fill in some of the holes for Christine about polygamy, family, everything. Even if they choose to remain distant, I believe that it’s imperative for them to at least have a conversation. Years and years ago, my brother had a friend who was on a reality show. He never believes anything on a reality show. He said the producers wanted him to say and do things when speaking to and visiting his friend that he was very uncomfortable with. He refused a couple of times, and they were really peeved with him.
An acquaintance of mine was also in a reality show and she's a total sweetheart. The show made her out to be something that she was clearly not. I ran into her at a gathering and I casually asked her, she confirmed that all the drama is pushed by the producers. They pushed her to do and say things to the other cast for the sake of ratings and its just toxic.
I interviewed a group featured on a reality show and they said everything was made up, plots, enmity, characters, motivations, everything except the setting.
I think it’s very interesting that Ms. Decker testifies that the producers encouraged her react a certain way. Meri is clearly not giving in this season. Meri’s internal monologue: “go ahead, I dare you, make me say something, anything.” 😂
Meri never says anything about anything anyway! Kody doesn't want Meri as a wife and has told her as much, yet she refuses to leave. She the seems to think that by staying, it will pave her way into Heaven, which it won't! Meri also seems to think that if she sticks around long enough and befriends Robyn, that. Kody will suddenly want her back, which also won't ever happen! Meri has no other life, doesn't know any better because she was raised in a polygamist lifestyle and thinks all of this is normal. If Meri wants to continue supporting Kody and Robyn and their lives, then that's her choice, as sad as it is. I'm so glad Christine got out and is now happier than she ever was! I sincerely hope Janelle will be the next to leave and quit supporting Kody and Robyn.

The former wives could: -watch footage with us and talk about it, -interview their children and recount their children's memories. -show how they are moving on from their dysfunctional marriages (perhaps in their counseling sessions) -Show how they have moved on in socially. -televise their inevitable monogamous relationships and marriages. - show KB and R's downfall

This was very, very interesting. I figured the show has manufactured many scenarios over the years, because one family is just not that interesting all the time. It is pathetic, though, that they made it look like Kristyn was up to something evil while just waiting to go into the bathroom!! She seems like a very level-headed and nice woman.
TLC tried getting me on a show called "my monster mother inlaw" or something to that affect... but I told them a big hell no. Why would I want to embarrass myself and my family by putting my nutcase mother inlaw on TV, to trash me on national tv? And all for a measly $10,000. I have too much self-respect.

The narcissistic person sees any failure as a coincidence, and if coincidence doesn't fit, they blame someone else. It's never their fault.

Kristyn is honestly the sweetest woman. She has this nature of just being like a second mom to everyone. She's everyone's mom, friend, cheerleader and advocate for happiness

This was very, very interesting. I figured the show has manufactured many scenarios over the years, because one family is just not that interesting all the time. It is pathetic, though, that they made it look like Kristyn was up to something evil while just waiting to go into the bathroom!! She seems like a very level-headed and nice woman.

TLC tried getting me on a show called "my monster mother inlaw" or something to that affect... but I told them a big hell no. Why would I want to embarrass myself and my family by putting my nutcase mother inlaw on TV, to trash me on national tv? And all for a measly $10,000. I have too much self-respect.

I remember one of the early Sister Wives episodes where the group was talking about polygamy at a college and this aunt attended. She'd come out of polygamy herself and expressed her concern for Christine.
Kristen is an amazing person. She has helped soooooo many. Ive had the privilege of associating with her several times. I really admire her for so many reasons.
In my household we always refer to a show going "full TLC" when it goes from informational to exploitative.

Thanks for this and thanks to Kristyn 💕. I’m still perplexed that there seems to be the expectation for romantic love on the part of these multiple wives. When you add in a gazillion children, the idea that one man is going to have that kind of emotional availability seems far-fetched (even if he wasn’t a total narcissist).
I have lived in Utah all my life, and remember hearing all about these people back in the 70s,80s and 90s. No, I am longer in that church.
I would love to hear her opinion about the favoritism and how it works? What are the expectations of the wives? Is that something Kody will ever admit?
