When Cody said Isabel could go have surgery alone, I realized he did not care about his kids at all. He has no idea what a REAL father means. That would have been it for me😡

For me it was when he just didn't want her to get the surgery he wanted her to just be in pain. I have a back injury so i completely agree that physical therapy before surgery helps you recover faster. But even after she went to that therapy camp she was still in pain and he just didn't want her to get the surgery. She could have had the surgery several years ago. She faced permanent nerve damage and having her curve get far worse.

Agree with all of you, I suppose all she’s seen previously was polygamy and not seen how it actually affects women & children. Now she has something to compare it with. There’s always only one winner in polygamy….the man! I wonder how many non polygamous not so great men would have ‘another wife’ instead of sneaking around cheating if they could? I’d say plenty would. I hope she will find happiness and be content now, who knows she might find someone to love her as a partner, love & cherish her as a partner should 💜🤍💚

    • @Shushyby

Totally agree! I think the turning point was for Christine. I think she knew what independence looked like because her mom left, but to see what love is from a monogamous marriage sends a new perspective. Not to say monogamy is any better, but overall, you don't have that "other woman" factor, in you house/marriage. She mentioned when Mykelti got married how it feels to have a marriage license with just your name and his name. She yearn that self love and companion love and she deserves it!!

  • @jaycee8399

The fact that not one of their adult children have chosen polygamy is very telling. Actually, the opposite. They have very firmly expressed their feelings about not wanting to live that lifestyle and that alone is very telling. Thankfully they've had the freedom to choose their own way of life.

Very true! I remember the clips in the tell all, when they asked Janelle about the problems with Robin in the past. And not having a close relationship with Robin, she was upset that Christine and Janelle were growing their children with a choice. She was crying that they should be pushing their lifestyle and beliefs with the children. Some of the other daughters got upset with her attitude.
She and Kody are in more of a monogamous relationship so her view is totally skewed. The other wives have always financially kept her too, despite having no physical relationship with Kody. So the arrangement totally favours her in every way. It would be interesting to know her grown children’s views, but they never seem to freely speak up. The unfairness to the other wives is so clear to see. Another person said they think Janelle is waiting for the property to be sorted as they all have money in it and I wonder now that Christine has gone how it will all work out. The whole dynamic has totally changed. Christine’s decision will open all of their eyes more. I’m so glad she was totally open on camera about what was going on as it’s clear for them all to see.

    • @psychicrenegade
      @psychicrenegade 2 года назад +2

Robyn was the only one who really wanted the kids to be members of the Mormon church, even if it was by force. She did not want any of Kody's children to be able to choose for themselves, and choose their own futures. Thankfully, the actual mothers of these children are very open minded and allow their children to make their own decisions. I feel sorry for the children that call Robyn "mother." They don't have an actively engaged mother OR father!

Hearing Kristyn tell her story and her family dynamic, it helped me understand why Christine stayed so long and why she's able to walk away now. Years of enduring pain makes them stronger. These women shouldn't be judged, if we had been raised in a cult, told from birth this is the truth, all you know is what you've been taught. You don't understand what freedom is if you've never seen it or had it.

When kody called Christine a bad sister wife… that was the final straw for me. Up until then I was starting to think this religion wasn’t as bad… but yeah now I see how damaging this is for women. It must have taken huge strength for Christine to leave being so brainwashed since childhood. I still have a theory that he only married her because of the family she came from, it doesn’t seem like he ever actually loved her for who she is but more so the status of her family rises his status.

Now that Christine is out she should go after Kody for child support, including insurance for any of her minor children. I suspect a big part of the men putting giant guilt trips on the women if they want to leave has to do with support and welfare repayment from absent fathers. Kristyn seems like a super sweet lady. And I mean that in both a positive and a "negative" way. I love how she's making a difference and helping others get out of the cult. But as someone very attuned to body language and tonality, I can totally hear the "keep sweet" tone that she was taught to always have. That breathy, soft spokeness. Like Michelle Duggar does, and all women in these cults where women must be subservient to their husbands.
As I listened to Kristyn I can hear her doing this, but almost let's fly with her "real voice" when talking about her anger towards Kody, and also towards the end when talking about Christine standing up for herself. However I also heard many times, and even in talking about Kody, her pull back and kind of apologize, and immediately take on that "keep sweet" submissive tone.
I truly want to see these women SPEAK UP! RAISE THEIR VOICES! DON'T APOLOGIZE! CALL IT LIKE IT IS IN ALL CAPS TONES! Who's with me?

I have a childhood friend (totally not related to polygamy) who has developed this type of fake sweet voice to woo the men in her life. Unfortunately, it has claimed her personality...until she gets angry of course. Women seem to instinctively do what men prefer in order to catch a man. Is it any wonder there is so many misunderstandings in relationships?

I lived in St. George Utah for 4 years and you would see these women (sometimes a man with multiple women) all over town driving very expensive cars - shopping at Walmart, Costco, etc... They would drive up from Arizona and Colorado City. I worked at a thrift store and the women would come in with the children. Every time that these women would come in with these pre-teen and teen girls, I just wanted to do something to get them away before they are forced to marry some creepy old man to be his 15th wife. Most of the names on the credit cards were Jessop and Barlow and I always wondered where they were getting the money.

Good interview Katie! I wish you would have asked her what she thought, when Kody after exploiting these women for years, started saying over and over maybe a man's not supposed to be a polygamist, maybe he's only supposed to have one wife! I've been thinking a lot about this, and maybe polygamy is not for me anymore! After preaching the benefits of it for years! It really bothered me when he started saying that constantly, just so he could dump his other wives and justify wanting to be with only Robyn! Another thing that made me what to puke is when one of the producers ask kody if women can bring other partners into the relationship, he got so indignant, and he started spewing and spitting Venom, and saying, that's not how it works! Like the women aren't allowed any companionship or pleasure, only the men are, and they should be happy with the crumbs that he gives them!

Early Mormon women did have plural husbands. They could go with other men and even had the priesthood. That is why I think so many joined. If it worked that way now a lot of this manchild Cody behavior would not go down.

I had to come back to say that 😀 as a child my favourite part of the day was story before home time. As a teacher I loved it too. It’s surprising how comforting it is for older children, 9, 10, 11 to be read a familiar story from their younger years. I taught all way through school and I’d often send a child or few to choose a book to be read aloud. The big kids would often return with the familiar ones. No child ever complained they were too old for it. Now I have tears pricking my eyes, a child named Jessica who I taught to read & write (disgusting teaching meant she was 8/9 & was doing pretend writing😤) she read aloud to her class, I was so, so proud! 💜

We also know that Robyn has been divorced from someone who had planned to have a polygamist marriage and the remarried when she married Kodi. Do we know that Christine isn't interested in the possibility of joining another polygamist union?
