Every time I see those "tractor" chevron tires I'm reminded of a job I had years ago where one division (Deutz-Allis) made tractors and combines, and so on. Guys came over with all the shiny new brochures for their new model tractor. We just dealt with the engines. I'm sitting there with my boss (the Chief Engineer, I was Warranty Engineer) and four of the "Marketing" guys, took one look at the glossy cover and started laughing. Everybody looks at me and says: "What's so funny"? I said: "Nobody else sees what's wrong in that picture"? Nope. "The drive tires are on the wrong side! Any farmer that looks at will wonder what ELSE we did backward"! You see, the tires should be the way they are on that go-cart. They dig into mud and push it to the outside. Other way around and they load up with mud and you're stuck! I spent 8 years with that company, and I could write a book about the way customer's (and others) fucked things up! 🤣
Yeah, in rare occaisions you may find the tires on backwards, they provide a better digging aspect to some types of turf. Rather than shedding mud, they'll pack it in. But yes, they are correct as seen on the kart! Thanks man! Ranchero302me ▶ ruclips.net/user/ranchero302me
@@DuckmanCycles Yeah, that's the way to do them on sand. I'll never forget the time when I was little, and we went to Florida (Clearwater, I think) and I saw a firetruck with (as Pop explained) Aircraft landing gear tires on it! I guess in the swamps and sandy areas they needed the flotation and low ground pressure.
Yeah, one pull wonder.... that thing was a disaster to start and keep running before. Now its just perfect! Ranchero302me ▶ ruclips.net/user/ranchero302me
Needs a new tire and tube probably. I use to ride go carts with my son. All the kids like my carts. I like them to have a live axal so you can really go with out getting stuck. new tire so he can turn it needs grip.
Tire is worn out for sure... it's a tubeless! Might stick a tube in it if it still has trouble sealing but this week he got it to hold air... then the whole wheel came off lol! Thanks man!
Thank you so much for your videos thank you for all your information I never even knew about HIPAA I can't believe that it ran that good I have to check them out I have some old equipment I need work done too interesting thank you
I’ve got the same cart and I just cleaned the carb today. It started first pull with choke on. As soon as I let the choke off, the cart took off full speed. The problem is the throttle isn’t snapping back against the plastic throttle screw. The governor rod and spring are hooked up correctly to the throttle. Does the throttle plate have some sort of internal spring inside or is it supposed to flip back and forth easily if nothing is attached to it?
There's a lot of different Springs that go on the throttle, but I'm on certain which one you're missing or which one you need but that actually seeing it myself. Some of that throttle setup is more complex than it needs to be, but I'm not the one who designed it if you know what I mean LOL... but it doesn't hurt to add an extra spring!
@@DuckmanCycles I added a return spring on the governor lever and I fixed the problem. I drove the car for 1/2 hour but an old problem surfaced. Engine keeps dying but can be restarted right away. I ordered a new carburetor and installed it, but now engine only runs with full choke. Engine dies as soon as I take the choke off
The HIPA store is pretty awesome... they've been one of my recurring sponsors over here. I'm very thankful for them, and I'm very happy with their replacement parts!
I have the exact kt 196 and the choke lever has no resistance - I have not taken anything apart but is it possible that some linkage broke? Does the choke lever come with the card kit or can I buy it separately
There isn't much resistance on the choke lever, but you can certainly get a carb kit (with the choke) really cheap from the HIPA store! They've been really awesome! Carb amzn.to/3j1kUkq
I got the same carb for my kt 196, it runs but won’t idle. Adjusted the idle screw. Still no idle. Help 😮 only runs when I have someone pull start it while I give it gas.
Yeah I still can't believe one pull.... lol! I figured for sure it would need more adjustments or maybe even a fouled plug! Ranchero302me ▶ ruclips.net/user/ranchero302me

That's rather interesting. I'd like to see that.... in the swamp!
@@DuckmanCycles It must work. I've seen a few others over the years...
I've used Hipa before and they never let me down. That looks like fun.
I gotta say, they've been good to us! Both as a reseller and a sponsor! You'll see more of them soon enough!
Always awesome to see David in your videos. Talk about being lucky for a single pull start without adjusting anything!!!!

If it dies with the choke off its definitely got some crud in it. Hipastore.com to the rescue!

Fantastic @Lord Duckman's Cycles and Air-Cooled Garage Good stuff right there! What happens if you put a tiny carb like that on a 1600 VW engine? LOL

Yup! I dunno if that's his style though, but I may put one on mine!
reverse would be nice. I had no clue.
