  • I replaced the tire on my wheelbarrow with a Harbor Freight 56181 15" tire.
I had to remove the plugs and put in the 5/8" bearings that came with it.

Worked great - thanks for the advice and demo. For those that didn't have luck removing the bushings with this method, don't be afraid to give the hammer swings plenty of force. You're not going to break anything. I didn't have a screwdriver that I wanted to hit that hard, so I used the axle instead of the screwdriver and that worked fine.

Any other methods if the screwdriver and hammer don't seem to be able to budge those? I need to do the reverse for my gorilla cart (change 5/8 to 1/2) and the existing 5/8 bearings do NOT want to budge. Tried some WD40 ... no go initially ... hoping that after it sit over night maybe that'll help, but if not ... I got nothing. Thank you for the video though. This is the only one I have found on this level of detail for getting those changed out. Deserves way more likes. :)

If you could even get one side off, you could use a socket. If that doesn't work, then your only option might be heat

Had to use sawz-all with a metal cutting blade and a grinder to get the wrong bearings off. You must have a powerful blow.
