we still have em in some or most cars from Japan here in New Zealand. my gf nissan murano still has it but i unplugged it stuff listening to that everytime you turn the car on

The rust is the result of the glue Mitsubishi used in the 80's and early 90's for the roof skin to the three support ribs. Its hygroscopic so absorbs moisture and rusts the roof from the inside out.

That Japanese lady voice you hear when you start up the Evo is a Japanese toll road reader. basically you stick a credit card into it or the unit that attaches to it and you can go on all the toll roads without having to stop at every little station, it automatically pays for it with your credit card.

I’m only saying this as a good person man. I’m a certified detailed and I’m glad you said your repositioning it. Because the clear cost is gone and flaking so it is now a one stage paint. Protecting this car is absolutely useless and now the paint will return to the state it was before this in about a years time. No matter if you ceramic cost it or use an si02 sealant they will last half the time and the paint will still fade. The only way to fix this is repaint it.

Wow you're really good at paint correcting and detail work.
Had a 93 GSR Lancer (1.8L turbo AWD) years ago. Had the roof rust issue, it bubbles up in lines side to side. I believe its due to the adhesive used on the roof reinforcement beams to the roof skin. We used to be able to get new roof skins from Mitsubishi, not sure if still available though (this is in Australia mind you)

I can’t remember the exact words she says but she’s talking about needing your pass to put into the card slot for going through toll booths. In japan you get little pass cards for everything, you can use them at tolls, 7-11 and much more. My evo 6 says the same thing when I start it up

Evan Shanks Is The Most Humble Car You Tuber.
Back in the 80s a company called invirotec came up with a product calles dry wash due to the water shortage in California, and that stuff was good for paint correction by itself eventhough it was suppose to be for cleaning your cars exterior without washing it. It sucks that they started out as a multi level phyramid company. Because they had an awesome product.
Anyways i paint corrected the paint on our 1970 bmw 2800 bavaria just before it got totalled by a drunk driver and it looked before it got destroyed.
