If one fell in love with Max Bruch's vioiln concerto as a teenager in the 1960's - the work was out there, played publicly and purveyed on radio etc - as though this was his sole creation; so, little did one know then of the treasure chest of his sublime, deeply felt, both musically brilliant and inspirational compositions, of such authenticity and great beauty, that at last get played more - though not enough - and righly praised, with the exception of Kol Nidrei, now acclaimed world wide, which is a masterpiece quite beyond compare.

Poor Max Bruch. he wrote one piece on Hebrew themes and was cast out as a Jew. What a loss! So wonderful to discover a "new" composer as good as ,Tchaikovsky or Brahms. Thanks for posting.
