London is very much the same. I live maybe 15 minutes from central london, and last year on the same day there was a terrorist attack on tower bridge where several people were rammed by a van, and borough market (right next to the bridge) where people ran out of the van and stabbed several people. I was in both of those places taking the exact same route maybe 2 hours before it happened. it's scary stuff, but the resilience i see in london is incredible. i imagine it's the same in NYC, and probably most other cities in the world. peace and love to everyone, may we live in a better world some day.

AJINDY TV That’s because there aren’t a lot of Liberals living in Texas, this was 100% done by liberals in an attempt to place blame on radical right. If it was honestly a bomb meant to hurt someone one of them would have went off.
Looking at the pictures of the 'bombs' they'd probably just burst into flames on ignition, at worst you'd get some bad burns on your hands if you were holding it so why they have whole blocks of the city cordoned off is a mystery, the media has to play these events up to maintain their narratives and people eat it up.
I love your content Casey, I think it was very important of you to go in and talk to a bunch of people and see what they're thinking and observing. It's a more on-the-ground kind of approach that I really like and admire a lot.
Cool vid. Just wanted to say: i think this is normal behaviour for ppl who live in big cities to just carry on with their lives. Greeen TW Exactly. Way too much praise heaped on NYC people for this (and I love the place). No other major city would have shriveled up and gone home, either.

Casey you are such an inspiration for the rest of us to think out of the box. It amazes me how you can take the news and bring it to an eye to eye level with the brave people living in your home town. Thanks for making this video.
You can only be resilient if you actively confront a situation, not if you choose to ignore it. People not caring about what the alert is about is not something to be proud of, is being ignorant and unaware of their surroundings. From this video newyorkers dont seem resilient, they seem ignorant and careless and I'm not sure why one would be proud of that.
Adriana Flores And not only, but the thinking in this video and with most of the comments is that going about one's business in a situation like this is somehow a kind of cool, NYC-only thing? Guess what, in other major cities people wouldn't go rushing home or cowering, either.
lol this is a normal response and almost all modern cities react this way, and there was only one school of thought, nobody knew what happened. Everyone was unsure and unaware of what actually happened and thus it makes perfect sense they went about their lives normally.
No one responded "Yeah, i know what happened!" ... Obviously the city wouldn't change if they didn't know what happened. Casey just took advantage of that.

Glad to hear everyone is safe. I've actually experienced something like this first hand. This used to be the everyday story of my city and country a few years back.
I remember, last year, when there was a bomb that was detonated in a trash can in Hells Kitchen. There was surveillance footage that looked horrific. But, as someone who works five blocks away from where that happened, it felt very much like something that was significant but needed to be moved past. We heard about it. We took precautionary measures, and then we went about our day. It's not that we're desensitized or that we didn't care about the people who were injured, it's that we know that stopping our daily lives will only feed into the fear and chaos that these acts seek to bring.

@@lamofonguera7807 ok ? My point stands lmfao if his point of this video is that nyc is just like any other city in the world then he’s running out of ideas 🤣
"underscore the resilience of people in New York City" - from the small sample of people you interviewed I'd say "obliviousness" is a better adjective. They had no clue what was going on.
That's because NOTHING was going on... just about a thousand law enforcement people hanging around getting paid to hang around looking serious. The media of course blew the non event out of all proportion and politicians trying to impress voters with the same old clap trap cliches for the cameras.
This seriously wasn't a big deal. The media blew it out of proportion. Everyone knew, and didn't let it affect their day because there are things that need to be done, jobs to do. This doesn't scare us.
Yes we do know what’s going on...besides the bomb threat there was a guy on the subway tracks at that time I know because I was there and I’m in the video.
Love it! We were in the airport en route to La Guardia when we saw this on CNN. New York felt NO different when we arrived and we’ve been loving the city since we got here. ✌🏼❤️✈️
this is 1st casey video that didn't pop up in my recommended... i was in nyc during 9/11, it was crazy, but the soul of the city remained after you strip away everything else
Im new to ur channel. I have been binge watching all weekend. I adore you. Ur life seems amazing and I love ur videos. Im so happy I subscribed to ur channel. I hope one day to meet you. Keep doing what u can't......😍
Casey I love The Reality and on Scene coverage of the situation as usual "your the best" I truly love Your Work. But have to admit I got lost at 5:41 LOL. Andy From Mass "GO RED SOX".
I really don't get what the point of this video was. Of course people are going to go about their day. The world as a whole has been desensitized. Not only that, but even for those who care about these incidents, at the end of day you really don't have much of a choice but to go about your life as normal. This isn't New York specific.
It’s not desensitized, it’s no choice. The mass bombing campaigns in Berlin and London weren’t met with people not going about their daily Iives, they had to.
"at the end of day you really don't have much of a choice but to go about your life as normal." That's the point of this video. People going about their life as normal despite the hype of the main stream media.
NY is straight up garbage, one of the worst places to ever live. I’m happy to be moving out of here because everything is expensive over here. Good luck with the brick weather.
If your not rich NYC fucks your over man. If you are wealthy enough to afford a good apartment then your set, but again that shits hard af. Live in a Suburb in NJ that’s close if anything
It's so true because I was in school (I'm from Staten island) and I saw some notifications about this but I just went on with my day like oh okay that's weird but nothing we to worry about
it's so crazy. we stayed at the Radio City Apartments a year or so ago and I was there for a week and 2 days and even i understand the 'we know/we don't know and yet we move on with our daily lives" feeling. that's how NYC felt when i was there. i felt at home tho while everyone else i was with were a bag full of stress lol... maybe that says something about me even though i'll never be able to afford to move/work there.. Chicago/Minneapolis, not as large or widespread, but it feels very much the same unless it's a *massive* event.
zach gottheimer What do you mean get more information lol? I'm 10x more informed than you as I actually live in NYC and there's no crisis. Learn what crisis means
Hi Casey. I was in NYC that day, celebrating my 18th birthday in the big apple, however I live in the UK. For me, I hadn’t ever experienced something like that but for everyone else around me, they were so chill with it. Weird times we live in.
Native New Yorker here, I was in the city yesterday trying to find parking for the photo plus expo at the javits center for over an hour. We ended up stuck on a street and there were crossing guards everywhere not allowing us to turn certain ways so we ended up driving from the javits all the way pass grand central terminal just to make a friggin U-turn. We had no clue this had happened! We just thought ugh, everyday screwed up NYC traffic. This is the first Im hearing of the situation. So glad that everyones safe!
It's funny to me how much pride American cities take in their "resiliance". Everytime there's a hurricane, attack, catastrophy or anything else in America, that's the first thing to hear in the news. Haven't heard this anywhere else than in the US. What is it with you guys having to prove to each other who is the bravest? Chill out, it's ok to be scared ffs
Haha, I don't think American's are as unique as you think. A quick Google search could show you that. If not maybe your travels just haven't exposed you to the fact that that many cultures take pride in their own resilience to adversity. I can list out examples if you want that are actually world events that have nothing to do with America.
@@mavrx3176 like why do countries outside of the US simply assume that everything the united states does is some kind of egotistical boost we try to perform. God forbid New Yorkers have pride in the shit they went through. I don't go out of my way to bring down other countries when they have nationalist pride. Somehow it's okay for every country in the world to be prideful except for The United States.
They only alert those in an area affected. Why panic the like 15 million people hear a day if it is contained. Do you spend time every day looking for a potential crisis in your state? They let us know when we need to know via alerts on our phone. We all know if we are more than like 10 blocks away we aren't going to freak out.
Something is different in this video, and i like it. The whole vibe of video + editing + shots it feels serious, professional and has a Casey touch. I really like it.
This is common to any big city. I was in one of the train were the bomb exploded in Bombay July 11 2006. There was mass chaos that day but the exact next day I was in college. Our professor had come few people were missing. We keep on saying that thats a message we sent to the terrorist that we will keep Going. But do we do it as a form of resilience or just because it didn’t happen to me?
I can't really see it as a good thing when people feel that things like this have just become a normal part of life. It is very different and I'm glad everyone is safe, but I lived in Paris when the attacks took place in 2015, and there was a clear change in demeanor, habits, mood all around the city. When the attacks in Brussels and Nice happened, it did feel like we were a bit desensitized to it, but that felt wrong somehow. That doesn't mean people are not resilient, we did go out the next night to prove terrorism wrong, but "I just got to get to work" makes it seem like business is more important than people... That is just a gross recap of my train of thought, but still.
The intercutting with the news coverage is brilliant: it both emphasizes the reactions of the citizens and shows how overly-dramatized the news is. GG, Casey 😎
Micoola - but it’s not a sign of the times, Casey gets a fraction of what media outlets do....and those media outlets contribute jobs and oppoittnies for more pepole than just Casey. Vice news maybe, but CNN sorry.
Modern Slice did you watch the Shane - jake Paul docuseries that came out this month? Shane made 8 videos totaling in length to be around 7 hours... the average views on each video is 20 million. People used to come to RUclips to watch 1 minute cat videos, but audiences are now coming here for much more. I don’t want to get too into detail as I simply don’t want to put aside the time to type it all out from my phone - but companies and brands are continually putting more of their marketing budget towards internet video services and away from traditional tv
Anyone else on Caseys notification squad? Your videos push me to work harder on my RUclips channel so I would like to thank you! Keep up the great work Casey!
I was in the subway with my girl when I got the message. We just moved here so we didn't know what to think. We just got out of the area asap. Good to hear no one got hurt.
First of all, great timing of NYPD motorcade departing at the end, I live to create a caliber of videos on your level. But on a personal note, since 911, I still do shut down when I hear of things happening in NYC or across the county, even though I'm from Urban Essex County, NJ. Keep up the good work Mr. 10 Million!!!

Lol that’s literally the point of the video.
@@lamofonguera7807 ok ? My point stands lmfao if his point of this video is that nyc is just like any other city in the world then he’s running out of ideas 🤣
This video was very over the top
Chez GOOD WAY OR BAD WAY?🤔🤔🤔🔥
Hector Alejandro Guerrero! Bad
Chez ...yeah cmon,casey..reaching much?

But most important he protec and attac
Lol u popping up everywhere
"underscore the resilience of people in New York City" - from the small sample of people you interviewed I'd say "obliviousness" is a better adjective. They had no clue what was going on.
h1an yhb7 I would have to agree
That's because NOTHING was going on... just about a thousand law enforcement people hanging around getting paid to hang around looking serious. The media of course blew the non event out of all proportion and politicians trying to impress voters with the same old clap trap cliches for the cameras.
He was blocks away from the event and it had only happened maybe an hour ago.
“People gonna keep goin, doesn’t stop New Yawkas” i love this city
I’ve personally become desensitized to news like that. It just feels like it happens so much...idk
when was the last domestic terrorist bombing attempt? Apathy is not desensitization.
Jailan Simon Really. what world do you live in where it's normal to have bombs sent to people?
Exactly
zachary burdette the United States of America

WARNING I am the unprettiest human worldwide, but somehow I have TWO girlfriends. Join me on my highly stimulating channel, dear alex hussein
this is 1st casey video that didn't pop up in my recommended... i was in nyc during 9/11, it was crazy, but the soul of the city remained after you strip away everything else
Alex Hussein lmao! Yea I was like, I need to sit down and watch while I’m at work.
Classic Casey at work Documenting the importance of his city. This is good stuff and loved it especially the soundtrack.
Just became a follower of Casey's-and this guy's makin' me homesick for New York already! Props!
Im new to ur channel. I have been binge watching all weekend. I adore you. Ur life seems amazing and I love ur videos. Im so happy I subscribed to ur channel. I hope one day to meet you. Keep doing what u can't......😍
Been living in new York for almost 17 years now and New York never changes

It’s awesome how they are making sure communication is pushed out to keep people safe regardless of how people react
Casey
I love The Reality and on Scene coverage of the situation as usual "your the best" I truly love Your Work.
GettinLa8d Exactly. Way too much praise heaped on NYC in this video.
It’s not desensitized, it’s no choice. The mass bombing campaigns in Berlin and London weren’t met with people not going about their daily Iives, they had to.
"at the end of day you really don't have much of a choice but to go about your life as normal."
That's the point of this video.
People going about their life as normal despite the hype of the main stream media.
Casey makes a video about a terrible tragedy - but makes one of the best travel videos about New York which makes me want to move there
Where is the tragedy here?
Sam Matheson lol wrong season to move here, it’s about to be brutally cold until March or so. Good luck affording rent as well!
King K Toronto proper city? HA.
Are they resilient or oblivious?
Mark Yates we are very much ready we just don't have the time to care look at 9/11 a lot of us went to help the FDNY the NYPD
Yes.
Mark Yates they are clueless
A little of both
Resilient
There's no crisis in NYC, everything is perfectly fine
Nick Saxon multiple bombs being sent out is a crisis. Even if they didn’t go off there still being sent. Get more information before u post
zach gottheimer What do you mean get more information lol? I'm 10x more informed than you as I actually live in NYC and there's no crisis. Learn what crisis means
Yea nothing happened that injured people. Packages are still being sent 10 different bombs. That’s a crisis still being investigated
A crisis is much bigger than this thing in one city
Greeen TW one city again where r u getting your information it’s a country wide threat there was one in California dc Florida
I was just there for an interview & I was right next to the Time Warner building. Crazy
Hi Casey. I was in NYC that day, celebrating my 18th birthday in the big apple, however I live in the UK. For me, I hadn’t ever experienced something like that but for everyone else around me, they were so chill with it. Weird times we live in.
Welcome back (officially) Casey!
The ending is perfect. Showing the police drive off then immediately a New Yorker on a bike ride past is a great metaphor for the whole video 8:11
Jace Diehl what’s the metaphor? The video is hyped nonsense
what the fuck do you mean 😂
james hughes ikr
Native New Yorker here, I was in the city yesterday trying to find parking for the photo plus expo at the javits center for over an hour. We ended up stuck on a street and there were crossing guards everywhere not allowing us to turn certain ways so we ended up driving from the javits all the way pass grand central terminal just to make a friggin U-turn. We had no clue this had happened! We just thought ugh, everyday screwed up NYC traffic. This is the first Im hearing of the situation. So glad that everyones safe!
A reporter at heart, great video casey
It's funny to me how much pride American cities take in their "resiliance". Everytime there's a hurricane, attack, catastrophy or anything else in America, that's the first thing to hear in the news. Haven't heard this anywhere else than in the US. What is it with you guys having to prove to each other who is the bravest? Chill out, it's ok to be scared ffs
Haha, I don't think American's are as unique as you think. A quick Google search could show you that. If not maybe your travels just haven't exposed you to the fact that that many cultures take pride in their own resilience to adversity. I can list out examples if you want that are actually world events that have nothing to do with America.
ok.
Is there a reason why people outside of America have such an envious and salty attitude ;)?
@@theportalofthings Please inform me, seriously I don't get it.
Take Care NYC!👊
Loved the Classic Casey Vlog❤
Best wishes from an Indian RUclipsr🇮🇳
This is the first video I've seen of you. I subscribed after hearing you were cool. Strange first impressions.
The reality !! Thnks casey u always provide awesome content 🤗 with a meaningful message
Clearly New Yorkers have no idea what’s going on in New York!
its a big city, dude. there are millions of things happening all the time.
No, we do, we just always busy AF!
They have no idea what’s happening in the rest of the State! Why is NY a blue state? Because of NYC...
whats your point adkflyer?
They only alert those in an area affected. Why panic the like 15 million people hear a day if it is contained. Do you spend time every day looking for a potential crisis in your state? They let us know when we need to know via alerts on our phone. We all know if we are more than like 10 blocks away we aren't going to freak out.
5:30 - The Bomb squad confiscated her shirt. Poor girl...
poor Saggy indeed
Actually it was the FBI
Lmfao 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic video, unique reporting perspective, glad for the slice-of-life vibe
Every time something like this happens more and more people move here to PA! I'm glad everyone is safe.
Good to know everyone's safe💗 love NYC👌
I was on holiday in NYC last week (the week all of this happened). I was staying in Manhattan and there were military guards in the subways.
I am subscribed to 100+ channels and off and on watch everyone except Casey i love his videos he is by far the best youtuber to ever live
Where’s the crisis?
In Uranus

in their heads
Exactly. Starving people all over the world, children in war zones, child soldiers, but Casey lives in a city where a dud bomb was mailed so “CRISIS”
59th street
NICE WORK CASEY ! really good reportage !
I think, sadly, New yorkers are used to it now and realized it since the 11.09.
Hey Casey,
Great video. Again. Thanks!
Lmao I live in manhattan and didn't here about this story until this video. there literally was nothing different today.
radwilly1 same. I had no idea anything was happening.

4:01, does people carry portable tables when they travel on train in NYC?
Crippleback some people do, they use them to put their laptops and stuff...
Amazing lolol production as usual. I loved this.
The cameos in the broll sections are 🔥
I can't really see it as a good thing when people feel that things like this have just become a normal part of life.
Agreed. It's like nothing can deprogram us from keeping the wheels of capitalism turning
*Zombie apocalypse in new york* new yorkers "oh crap theres so much traffic im gonna be late to work"
I was in New York that day and knew about it, but indeed I agree nothing felt different. Didn't really go around Columbus circle that day though
The intercutting with the news coverage is brilliant: it both emphasizes the reactions of the citizens and shows how overly-dramatized the news is.
GG, Casey 😎
It's funny seeing all those news outlets and their trucks and Casey's video will be seen by more people! Then there's! LoL 😂
Rusty Wells a sign of the times
Rusty Wells *than theirs
That’s not true, have you seen the viewership cnn gets? Not even close mate, nice try at hyperbole though.
