The Mustang has once again outlived the Camaro and Challenger. We should be happy Ford is still making manual V8 Mustangs. On the other hand, the dashboard looks like it came out of a Kia EV6. The previous generation's dashboard fit the car perfectly.
I own the new mustang and I agree with the lack of physical controls for climate. I've had to wait for the screen to boot for 2-3 minutes at times before I can change the climate. It's really frustrating especially since mine is a manual and I cannot remote start.
I mean, that’s what Porsche does with the 911. New chassis every generation, new engine every four year refresh. (They don’t change both at the same time to reduce risk)
7:41 What the heck happened to the little shelf thing below the USB outlets? Either it's covered in grime or someone got the bright idea to try and clean it with a Magic Eraser.
I agree 100% on the touchscreen climate controls. Not only do you often have to wait to change settings while the car boots up, it can also be frustrating to change settings on the fly as you're driving. If you're one of those people that like using the "auto" climate setting it isn't as big of a deal, but I prefer to control the climate myself.
I heard that the manual transmission in the Dark Horse is better (and more reliable) than the manual transmission in the GT. Is this true, and is there a reason for this?
Yes. The Dark Horse has the Tremec TR-3160 transmission, the regular GT has the Getrag MT-82 transmission. Ford uses the Getrag in ordinary GTs as it is a cheaper transmission (it's even made in China to cut costs!). The Tremec is the same transmission that used to be used in the Camaro, it's stronger and has nicer shifts. So the use of the Getrag in a normal Mustang GT is a "value engineering" decision. 🙂
@TassieLorenzo it's to differentiate the gt and dark horse If it had the same transmission i'm sure there will be some company that for a few grand can make it a dark horse in all bug badge
@@TassieLorenzoCamaro V6 got a 3160. The MT82 is stronger than the 3160. The 3160 may shift better but the MT82 holds boosted power better. The V8 Camaros got the TR6060.
Wait, wait now, Ford were very proud that the steering column shaft is 50% stiffer (even though the steering is still completely numb). 😃😂 What a useful improvement!
So I just watched this. I ordered a premium gt with the performance pack. I was going to get the racaros and sat in one. Too narrow for me. This is going to be my 35th birthday present and my daily driver. So I’m going to be driving it a lot. Road trips etc I do plan on taking it to the track, but I opted out of the racaro seats Chose comfort over seating grip because the performance driving will be a very small part of the stangs life Great review by the way
@@highlycaffeinated6864 I've already rebuilt a 2015 GT that was a wrecker, got it for $4500, and spent around that much (saved on labor as I did the work myself) getting it fixed myself. Still have it btw it's my daily driver.
I love the regret of your voice when you had to go in the back like your mom gave you chores that you had to do. I'm hoping someday you get to drive a Revology mustang soon.
You really need to drive a 08 and 12 the same day as a new Mustang and then try and say they drive the same. Also try throwing a pair of turbos or supercharger boost at the Lexus V8. It won’t survive long. The Coyote is the most robust mass produced V8 to ever leave an assembly line.
Every time I shopped mustang gt’s they always are base interior cloth seats, tiny base radio ete with the v8 but the eco boost always are fully equipped n specced the way I want it so I end up with something else . This new mustang is nice but its a let down like the new Z was . That garbage interior can’t justify the price tag . On the flip side the outside it’s sick .
I never understand why americans are complaining about the prices of every single car on here. 61k is litterally what i eould have to pay for a for focus
I'm not a fan of how it looks, to me it still looks like a modded Ford Fusion since the 2015 model came out. I would rather have a Mustang made before 2015, because to me all the ones after that looks ugly. Just because they put the Mustang name on it doesn't mean I have to like it!!
Beautiful but $61k is insane
I'm assuming that the Dark Horse would start at $65-70k. Everything is getting really expensive these days😢.
lol and ford brags about it being the only affordable v8 sports car
Cars now cost a house down-payment a vw golf is $31,000...
@@adorablecenturion8436no, it brags about being the only v8 sports car now since the others aren’t being made anymore.
@@adorablecenturion8436can still get a base GT in the low 40s which is still a very nice car.
GT = 6 Speed MT-82 Getrag
Dark Horse = Manual Tremec
Good catch

It hits different when Zach says it feels older than it is. We know he has driven them all. The thing is, that is kinda a good thing, to me.

60k+ for a mustang gt is ridiculous.
Most new economy cars cross between 30,000 and 40,000 dollars
A camry is over 30,000...
im not a fan of digital gauge screens it will probably be very expensive if anything goes out.

Such a cool car, BIG big fan of the digital gauge cluster!
7:41 What the heck happened to the little shelf thing below the USB outlets? Either it's covered in grime or someone got the bright idea to try and clean it with a Magic Eraser.
It's a Getrag manual, not a Tremec. The Tremec is in the Dark Horse and Mach1

Sensory overload, personally not a fan of screens, give me buttons
The intro music is so cool, it leaves me wanting a longer outro 😁
The design is probably the best yet imo, only thing id change is the spoiler, a ducktail or lip spoiler would look better

A little tip. Get a shift kit for the Getrag. Problem solved.
The MT82 is STRONGER than the Tremec 3160. The 3160 is known to shift better but it is not stronger.

Everything about the S650 interior is a downgrade from the S550. Except what they didn't change, which is a lot.
I agree completely. The S550 was perfect, retro yet modern. The S650 has the dashboard of a Kia EV6.

Also I’m short but wide.
I’m 5’4” and weigh around 175

Also doesnt it look like a 2015 mustang from the front end, just with a led headlight upgrade
Debating on whether to trade my 2023 Camry XSE for this or just buy my uncle's SN95 Mustang GT convertible
