Me too!! I read six of crows first and I’m glad I did-I’m not sure if I would have liked the shadow and bone series without the knowing that I LOVED SOC
Yeah I’d recommend just going straight into the six of crows duology, it’s a lot better than shadow and bone. If you get confused there are summaries online which explain the fantasy elements which helped me! X
i have a really good feeling that you’ll love shatter me and that you’ll get through them really fast cuz they’re easy to read and THAT good. trust me you’ll love them and Warner so you got this steph!!
The first book isn’t great imo, I’m 3/4 of the way through unravel me and I’m just getting into a bit more. I’ve heard ignite me is amazing so hopefully it lives up to the hype lol.
@@mindofaries i had to force myself to read the entire series besides ignite me and restore me :( the first book and last book were PAINFUL dystopian is just not my thing so i hated the plot but i rlly like the characters esp kenji, nazeera and warner (sometimes) and dw ignite me is fantastic! but the second trilogy isn’t my fav because i don’t like the plotline even tho it goes WAY more in depth. but u meet nazeera so win :)
ACOTAR is my FAVORITE series of all time 😍😍 I used to be strictly romance only and I had zero interest in fantasy books. But I noticed that I get into reading slumps if I read something too similar to what I just currently finished so I decided to change it up one day and I grabbed a court of thorns and roses and OMG I am so glad I did. It was so easy to get into, the book was just a roller coaster. I loved every second of it. But if you don’t like the first one don’t worry, the second is AMAZING. Just don’t judge it based off of the first even though when I first read that one i did love it. It got me into the fantasy/romance genre and I literally just left Barnes & Noble yesterday with all fantasy books and was like “who is this girl?! 😂😂” HIGHLY RECOMMEND
yes!! i actually recommend watching the tv show first bc it's still a nice introduction & some of the flashback scenes in the soc book were acted out in the s&b tvshow so it becomes rlly satisfying to read :)
i just read "they both die at the end" i thought it was so good and i cried at the end, for sure not a complicated read but it quick and easy. also "they deserve eachother" is one of my favourite books for 2021
They both did at the end was so good!! People really need to stop judging books on other people's opinions... the point of reading is to form your OWN opinions!
steph i know u don't usually read mysteries but i rlly rlllly suggest you read a good girls guide to murder!! you'll be OBSESSED! it also has a tiny subplot of romance but i swear you wont regret reading it!!
Steph the last ACOTAR book, A court of silver flames, is the best one! That’s not in your set tho, you should definitely include it in your video because it’s on another level of amazing compared to the other four!
I feel like watching you is always like a late evening face time call. It makes me so happy pretending that you are on the call while I’m doing something differently 💕
the boy who sneaks in my bedroom window is so good ! kristey mosely gets you in all the feels and ive read 3 other books by her and they are all 5 stars in my opnion
I think Everything I Never Told You was one of your TBR books-if so, consider me this motivating you to read it, lol. Celeste Ng is an amazing writer, and the story is so beautiful and sad.
eleanor oliphant is like one of my favourite books!! it is definitely character driven but i just loved the characters so much and it’s my comfort boom atm. whenever i see it in someone’s book collection i get so excited lol
I waited SO LONG to read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and I regret it so much. It’s the most beautiful book I think I’ve ever read. Definitely an instant favorite. I saw somewhere that you’d love it if you loved Song of Achilles. I think the reason I resisted picking it up was that the description and cover made it feel more like a historical novel than it is (it bounces back and forth between present and past) and I thought it would take more energy getting into it. But now I’m obsessed and I need everyone to read it so that I have people to talk to about it!
Great thing about One of Us is Lying, you can read the book first and it doesn’t spoil the show entirely because they changed some things. Both are worth the time though, in my opinion. I’ve only just started book two because season two comes out next month.
Ahhh!! I love this so much! I love watching these types of videos to help inspire me to read different kinds of books rather than reread a book for the tenth time which I do if I've been in sort of a slump. Also, One of Us is Lying is so good! One of my favourite YA Murder Mystery books for sure!
ACOTAR IS MY FAVORITE SERIES EVER. You just need to get through the first book because each books gets better and better. The romance. The spice. I’ve reread it five times in under two years. I will never not recommend that series.
I was always unsure on whether I’d like acotar or not but I found the series for a good price second hand & I just started reading them and I’m obsessed!! SO GOOD
I just finished the second book yesterday and started the fourth today!! Also… literally just found out like three days ago that there’s a fifth book?!?! What the heck. Will be buying when it’s available on Amazon (September 6)
I love shatter me more then ACOTAR. Definitely read shatter me first. Seeing your tbr section makes me feel better about my tbr piles. But I love it, you’ve got to have options
You need to read they both die at the end! I am not a romance reader at all, but that book made it work. In one way it’s light- with humor and likable characters but of course it handles heavy topics- I mean, they both die at the end. I’ve reread it two times, and it’s always good.
no honestly anything by cassandra clare is rlly good to get into fantasy bc they all have strong romances in them fr! the mortal instruments is like urban nyc and the dark artifices is like set in california? the infernal devices is set in london👀 (but like, olden days)
YES she is so soo good at the romance and the dialogue between the love interests and just everything. Which series by cassieclare would you say is your favourite?
@@tresageorge4156 omg whats yours i love the infernal devices has to be mine but the mortal instruments like i grew up reading them they have a special place in my heart as well :,)
Girl..ACOTAR is my favorite series EVER. I didn’t even read fantasy before this series. The characters, the world building, character development, dynamics. So good. You need to read it!
Dude. I've always loved reading but I literally went through years without reading any books because I just never had the energy or the motivation to read and the ACOTAR series is what reignited the spark for me. There's definitely a very odd scene in the first one and I'm not all the way through the series but I highly recommend it. (But I also really like books where they create a whole world and that series does that)
However, that being said, this is the first of your videos I've seen and I don't know what your taste is like. I know some people like books to not have explicit scenes and if you're one of those people I wouldn't recommend it
You are actually going to be so obsessed with ACOTAR, like I have basic taste too 😂 and it is the most addictive romance ever. There is like an adorable found family trope (eventually) and just like immaculate tension. Just like think of it as a trilogy though because the first 3 are directly related the main like love interest storyline. The 2nd book is the best so if the first is meh to you hang in there!
5:37 I feel like you should read The Infernal Devices before The Mortal Instruments if you want to give it a try, I know you’ll love Will and Jem sm 🥺 And both ACOTAR and Shatter Me have a great focus on the romance, so it won't be a huge genre change. Hope you'll vlog it and loved the new book wall.
@@Becksnnc Yes, I tried to read like this but I got stuck reading City of Bones 🥺 since I already knew the universe I switched the release reading order a little bit and first read TID then TMI, but starting with the first books of TMI is a great option as well.
