It almost felt like this Mario party had a personal vendetta against Jon and just proceeded to keep knocking him down every board until he couldn't take it anymore. Losing Wiggler's garden and Toadette's music room to star blocks and other shenanigans, Emile getting 22 stars on DK's stone statue, Losing a star from a 1 star hex to then lose another star from a hidden block on the same turn on the same space on Kamek's library and he may not have suffered the pain of the Bowser zone but Bowser's pinball machine is what finally broke him so much that he lost his voice in the process. This is the most brutal I've ever seen this game be and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Emile is so right. MPDS is designed to be so harsh because it’s party mode is designed to be a short, pick up and put down experience. I kinda love it for that, because it cranks the spirit of Mario Party up to its limit. Hudson couldn’t have ended their decade with Mario Party any better way.
And I feel Jon’s frustrations. His anger was the way I felt most rounds I played. I won so infrequently in MPDS, but I kept coming back for more. It’s just that addicting of a game

A 2-player or 3-player multiplayer game will always be weighted against non-hosts solely due to the AI which is a non-factor in 4-player games, as the always prioritize players in lobby-joining order for item steals; thus, a P4 AI will always target P3 first if they have an item, regardless of what items they have, or whether or not P2 and/or P1 have better inventories at the time.
If it's any consolation to Jon, I always toss out Coin Blocks and Star Blocks whenever I get them in DS. And this video is a good example of why. I do think it's unfair to have Ztars in hidden blocks, even if the boards are small enough to where you can often get multiple stars in a turn.
And people said Mario Party screwed Jon the worst Mario Party DS: YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET FOLKS! Jon rages are usually the highlight of the MP series, but this was pretty overkill

But it was a few years before this LP came out. During that time, Andrew underwent gender transition (how exactly, she hasn't stated, but I assume HRT) and changed her name to Amber.
This was like watching thousands of fans unleashing their inner anger from the GameCube Mario Party era upon Jon in every way possible, and continued to due so until all of his sanity was gone

According to some reverse engineering, the game has a few liiiiittle things in its behavior that subtly favor the designated player one and throw each additional player more and more under the bus. It’s not the whole game, and its not obvious, but there’s… things
It’s insane to see how far TheRunawayGuys have gone throughout their Mario Party LP’s. It started out as Chuggaconroy yelling “NO!” whenever bad things happen to him (and our ears), and ended with screwing over Jon to the point he loses his voice.
its so freaking odd when chugga had a bad thing happen to him he complains, whines, and wont STFU about it (like when he lost to knock block tower twice!) even when they stared the MP series he always was a massive d!ck to jon and was always a sore loser! But the second jon is getting f*cked by a MP game chugga acts like a d!ck and get happy for jon being pissed! jon left after MP5 (i think it was that) due to chugga and his attuide! sad he got shut out luckly tim won the last board to hurt chuggas pride! jon and tim need a rematch on MP DS and tie emile in a corner because it was so unfair how they (mostly jon) were screwed over by chugga! Also jon should mention to chugga "I atleast won knock block tower in 1 go unlike you who lost a$$hole!" that would shut chugga up!
DS was Emile’s spotlight of dominance. Considering I like DS as much as he does, that’s saying something. Jon’s rage must’ve topped past moments because I haven’t laughed as much as this whole chapter.
Seeing all the craziness and the wild meltdowns Jon had on MPDS was like getting various brutal versions of Chance Time every single time a turn was made! This has to be the wildest and most epic TRG gameplay I've ever seen in my life!
I've noticed that Tim doesn't seem to really care when the game just crushes any hope of him winning. He's just along for the ride, and only really freaks out when he gets ROYALLY screwed in an unfair way or is very close to winning.

This entire lp produced more salt than Anarchy Island. And his descend fron happy to be back with his pals to I want to destroy this game bit by bit is glorious.
Not even Dokapon shat on Jon this hard; at least Jon not only won that, but in some of the times he did get screwed over, there were silver linings to those clouds like the Sun Shield activating when Chugga challenged him at an end-of-chapter boss.
Super Gaming Bros. had Pirate Dream (I think) BrainScratch Commentaries had Waluigi's Island TheRunawayGuys had this I guess I forgot the experience after seeing King of Skill, TCNick3, Vernias, and Sophist doing their Mario Party Shenanigans. Man I am glad this made me remember great moments of rage.
I just remembered, Mario Party DS’s AI is wonky when it comes to targeting players, it checks if the last player to join, in this case player 3 ie jon has something. If there’s nothing then it checks player 2 ie Tim, and then if he doesn’t have anything then it’ll check player 1, ie Emile It explains why Daisy and Wario targeted Jon with their snag bag, because the game checked and saw he’s player 3, so it doesn’t check further despite other players had better items
I tell you what... it was worth the wait. And I can't help but feel bad for Jon during this playthrough after all the stuff he went through in this game.
So, fun fact. The AI is programmed to steal items based on reverse port order. It first checks player 4 which is usually itself and therefore ineligible to be selected, then player 3, 2, and then finally 1 if none of the previous players have any items. Jon was unfortunately player 3 in every game and therefore had all of his items stolen despite other players having significantly better items.
Wow, I have never seen a game have it out so hard for Jon. And I thought Mario Party 10 in that one stream made Emile rage so hard nothing would top that. But here, Jon raged so hard, he practically broke his voice. So, if you guys are keeping track: that's 3, 7 and DS that had it out for Jon. 2 and 4 for Tim, 5 (arguably also 6) for Emile, and then 1, 6, and 8 for all three of them.
Also Tim quoting what could ONLY be Back to the Future. That was unexpected but it’s just part of the TRG charm. Alongside Jon’s crummy rolls in Mario Party and Emile’s insane luck in the same.
Watching Jon play Mario Party DS was like watching Poofesure play Wii Party and Wii Party U. Just imagine if TRG and Poofesure did a collab. That would be hilarious.
You do realise Poofesure also played Mario Party DS, right? His luck was arguably even worse than Jon's if we're being completely honest here, which is really saying something.

Ok so, if memory serves: The reason the AI would murder Jon was due to player priority. The ai will always steal items from the highest priority player. Because Jon was player three, the AI would always steal from him first. That’s why it seems so nonsensical for the AI to try and steal his dice block at a chance rather than Tim’s triple dice guaranteed in Bowser’s pinball.
The title has never been more fitting, cause this game has had it out for Jon almost from the beginning And boy, was his descent into madness, along with Emile's near-sweep of the boards, fun to watch
Watching this hilarious super cut reinforces why this LP was so much fun. The guys being back together was one thing, but seeing them trying to support Jon as the game constantly took a massive dump on him shows how far they’ve come since Mario Party 3 (the last Mario Party to torment Jon nonstop). I also feel that though it was terrible to see Jon suffer through most of DS, it didn’t feel wrong to laugh along with Tim and Emile this time considering the fact Jon himself was also doing his best to take it all in stride as the shenanigans continued (though the final board definitely pushed him into the realm of true rage thanks to my man Wario). I’m hoping Jon has better luck the next time they play Mario Party, and I’m also happy that it was Tim who rose to the occasion to stop Emile from getting a sweep of the game. Can’t wait to see what’s next from them in the future! 😊

its so freaking odd when chugga had a bad thing happen to him he complains, whines, and wont STFU about it (like when he lost to knock block tower twice!)
even when they stared the MP series he always was a massive d!ck to jon and was always a sore loser!
But the second jon is getting f*cked by a MP game chugga acts like a d!ck and get happy for jon being pissed! jon left after MP5 (i think it was that) due to chugga and his attuide! sad he got shut out luckly tim won the last board to hurt chuggas pride!
jon and tim need a rematch on MP DS and tie emile in a corner because it was so unfair how they (mostly jon) were screwed over by chugga! Also jon should mention to chugga "I atleast won knock block tower in 1 go unlike you who lost a$$hole!" that would shut chugga up!
DS was Emile’s spotlight of dominance. Considering I like DS as much as he does, that’s saying something.
Jon’s rage must’ve topped past moments because I haven’t laughed as much as this whole chapter.
Seeing all the craziness and the wild meltdowns Jon had on MPDS was like getting various brutal versions of Chance Time every single time a turn was made! This has to be the wildest and most epic TRG gameplay I've ever seen in my life!
I've noticed that Tim doesn't seem to really care when the game just crushes any hope of him winning. He's just along for the ride, and only really freaks out when he gets ROYALLY screwed in an unfair way or is very close to winning.

Party crashers recently played mystery land in MP2 and the king of skill Brent got screwed over plenty.
The game heard Jon calling it garbage in the first board and went “Garbage huh? I’ll show you garbage”

This let's play was something else. I've never seen Jon descend into madness like that
I just remembered, Mario Party DS’s AI is wonky when it comes to targeting players, it checks if the last player to join, in this case player 3 ie jon has something. If there’s nothing then it checks player 2 ie Tim, and then if he doesn’t have anything then it’ll check player 1, ie Emile
It explains why Daisy and Wario targeted Jon with their snag bag, because the game checked and saw he’s player 3, so it doesn’t check further despite other players had better items
So poor ai programing rigged the game. Maybe a redo with no ai player would make things better? Feels a bit unfair knowing this.
I tell you what... it was worth the wait. And I can't help but feel bad for Jon during this playthrough after all the stuff he went through in this game.

To be honest, since Mario Parties 9 and 10 were claimed to be more luck-based due to the car mechanic, I’m going to assume that Emile will win.
So, fun fact. The AI is programmed to steal items based on reverse port order. It first checks player 4 which is usually itself and therefore ineligible to be selected, then player 3, 2, and then finally 1 if none of the previous players have any items. Jon was unfortunately player 3 in every game and therefore had all of his items stolen despite other players having significantly better items.
I never thought his luck could get any worse than Mario Party 3, but here we are. Definitely worth the 3 year wait

Wow, I have never seen a game have it out so hard for Jon. And I thought Mario Party 10 in that one stream made Emile rage so hard nothing would top that. But here, Jon raged so hard, he practically broke his voice. Ok so, if memory serves:
The reason the AI would murder Jon was due to player priority. The ai will always steal items from the highest priority player. Because Jon was player three, the AI would always steal from him first. That’s why it seems so nonsensical for the AI to try and steal his dice block at a chance rather than Tim’s triple dice guaranteed in Bowser’s pinball.
The title has never been more fitting, cause this game has had it out for Jon almost from the beginning
And boy, was his descent into madness, along with Emile's near-sweep of the boards, fun to watch

Watching this hilarious super cut reinforces why this LP was so much fun. The guys being back together was one thing, but seeing them trying to support Jon as the game constantly took a massive dump on him shows how far they’ve come since Mario Party 3 (the last Mario Party to torment Jon nonstop). I also feel that though it was terrible to see Jon suffer through most of DS, it didn’t feel wrong to laugh along with Tim and Emile this time considering the fact Jon himself was also doing his best to take it all in stride as the shenanigans continued (though the final board definitely pushed him into the realm of true rage thanks to my man Wario). I’m hoping Jon has better luck the next time they play Mario Party, and I’m also happy that it was Tim who rose to the occasion to stop Emile from getting a sweep of the game. Can’t wait to see what’s next from them in the future! 😊
