Buck is the reason I hold my head up, he's the reason I'm smiling today
I'm Sicilian and I've been listening to country music for several years. Unfortunately this type of music is not listened to, it is never broadcast in Italy on the radio, in clubs and on TV, only the usual rap, pop and commercial music, the culture is missing. My favorite artists are Don Williams, George Strait, Marty Robbins, Glen Campbell, Dwight Yoakam, Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare, Kathy Mattea, Jerry Reed, Jeff Walker. and I like singing this music. I acquired several vinyl records from the era overseas. Who are your favorite country artists?
I had this album back in high school and I loved it. Still my favorite Buck Owens album.
Killer version of Memphis. Buck Owens is GOLD.
You are so, miss Buck However thank you for the music......:)
Can't thank you enough for sharing this....Buck could be at home with all kinds of music and styles, he is among the greats in my book
This version of Summertime Blues is the bomb.
Had a swing in' time with Buck Owen!
really liked the version of Sweethearts in Heaven on this!
The great Ralph Mooney on pedal steel guitar.
I love Bucks later work. Even without Don Rich it's still good. There is no country music like Bakersfield country music.
Sounds very good but even better live.
The Beatles need to bow down to Buck.
"The Bakersfield Sound"
How many artists can say they stamped the name of a city on a unique country music style? I'm hard put to think of anyone else. And Buck was consistently good. Like Hank Williams it's hard to find something Buck did that wasn't good.
There was the Nashville Sound with artists like Eddy Arnold, Ray Price and Jim Reeves, among others.
I like his version of Summertime Blues. How many covers are there? My favorite is still Blue Cheer followed by The Who, and now Buck Effin Owens. 🤬
Check out Alan Jackson's version.
