- AFTER A GREAT SESSION AT MY FAVOURITE BREAK, I WAS HEADING BACK
TO MY VAN TO UNWIND AND RELAX.
AS I WAS GOING THROUGH THE DUNES I WAS CONFRONTED BY SOME
BLOW-INS, I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ATTACKED ME, BUT IT WAS UNPROVOKED.
FORTUNATELY MY YEARS OF KUNG FU TRAINING HELPED ME FIGHT OFF THE ASSAILANTS, AND I LIVE TO BOOG ANOTHER DAY.

As a begginer, maybe a stupid question but would you say for bodyboarding, fins, is a must?
Good to see the blowins didn’t get the better of you 😂 epic paddle session OMB at least you got a few nice ones I think all us guys in this age bracket sometimes feel that we’re in the road on occasion everything is easier when you have youth on your side keeping charging OMB & keep flying the flag for us older water men. 🤙🤙👍🍺

If its where i think it is, off Newy Lighthouse, Reef Bombie that barrels hard,...that spot can get pretty heavy if caught in the wrong position. On days like that its probably recommended to surf elsewhere, more suited to your skill level. Main, Bar or Mereweather.

It sure does get heavy out there, but I try to push myself even though my level is average. I do love Merewether though.
@@olmanboog I used to live in Newy for a few years, loved Bar Beach, Dixon's, but soooooo many surfers/bodyboarders in the water. Love it up there, beautiful part of the world. Even Red Head is a great wave

On days when it’s washing down like that it’s easier to paddle out further up and come back across past the reef. Looking forward to a session with you one day soon hopefully brochacho 🤙
A few arm paddles between duck dives also helps 💪🏻

Yes I will need more wax on my board for that, I tend to put little wax on and slip off when I arm paddle, so extra wax and an arm workout is coming.@@SF-wr4zn

Can relate to feeling like youre in the way. Especially young dogs on surfboards which are way easier to paddle unlike a boog with us old dogs trying to muster the energy to just get out let alone make quick moves out the way. The joys of getting old OMB !
