- I thought I would finish out the year with a list all the motors I tested for 2023. Per the number of requests, these are the ones that I had the most requests to test. I can't wait to see what motors are coming out in 2024. I already have the new Tekin Gen4-R2 ordered.

25:48 actually if you keep doing it like this that works alright. still difficult if we want to go back and compare previous info like rotor and stator numbers. just keep in mind when your doing this when we pause the video it skips ahead or behind by 5 seconds so it you pause for at least 5 seconds on one section it makes it easy to "flip" back and forth". it worked out great in this video.
not only do you do an amazing job comparing motors but how your willing and able to to help us to more easily compare them. top notch. i cant express how awesome you are.
Thank you for the compliments. They are highly appreciated. Due to local track closures, I don't race anymore, but I'll keep trying to get more motors just for testing. I just purchased two Tekin motors from a factory racer. One is a Team version and the other is an Elite. I can't wait to get them tested.
I see you ride dirt bikes. What bike do you have? I ride a 1993 CR500. I love that thing.
Thanks for all the work you put into your tests and sharing the info. Since we lost Nick Adams nobody has been doing in-depth comparisons.
A motor suggestion - Team Powers Actinium v5. And if you really wanna burn some $$ to give the world the most accurate info a Dyno would be the ultimate tool. Thanks again.

I team power has been suggested a couple times. I'll see what I can do. As for a dynamic, that would be awesome. With them being close to $1,000 makes them a little hard to reach. I am, however, working on an idea that would be better for comparing motors.
Definitely would like to know about the team powers v5 too. I have one in my 2wd and it is the fastest/best 17.5 I've used

I hear it's a good motor. I haven't had the pleasure of being able to test it yet. Hopefully, soon.
Nice work Clegg. Subscribed. I've tested a couple of Surpass motors on a SkyRC analyzer. The 13.5T V5R was typically measured 3 degree over the end bell timing marking (testing from 29 thru 48 deg). My copy of the standard V6 17.5T measured consistently 7 degree under the end bell timing mark! from 34 to 50 deg. Mapping my V6 17.5 results to your sample... at 45 measured, mine was 52 on the endbell, and at 7.7V, drew 5.2A, reading 3140kV, at 24310rpm, where your comparable kV and current draw is measured at 50 degree. I don't know whether to trust my analyser, or the motor markings or neither. Does the Hobbywing give you any odd results?.
The timing marks, on the Surpass motors, are pretty far off on all I tested. As for your current draws, at 7.7v, you will have a different amp draw than me. My tests are regulated at 7.4v. That's why I chose the Tunalyzer for testing. with the option to regulate voltage, it gives me more consistency when comparing motors.

I do, but it will be a couple more weeks. I'm still putting my new tester together.
It sounds like the Exalts are very fast $$$ expensive though
I hear the same thing, but then again, I hear people swear by all of the motors out there. The Exalt is another motor I would like to test, but I haven't had a large number of requests for it.
Don't waste your money on an IR-meter for only measuring stators, bench PSU and normal multimeter can do the same thing but has more use cases.
I agree. I also don't see a purpose. All race motors are going to have a relatively comparable IR. The best thing is, ROAR racing posts their findings. That will give us an idea on where the motor's IR stands.
what do you think of the corally vulcan or the whitz hyperspec
I have not had a chance to test those motors. The Corally motor is a 4 year old motor, so I'm going to guess it will not be that competitive. It's also not ROAR approved. The Whitz Hyperspec is also an older motor. It came out in 2021. I'm guessing it will not be as competitive as the newer motors. A lot has changed in past year. Hopefully, they will release a new one, soon, and I will get a chance to test one.
@@wutupclegg6618 Thank for the info on those 2 motors, I kinda thought the Corally was a older motor with what little info I was able to find about it and I didnt realize the Whitz was an older motor too. I will how ever now check out the Surpass motor, I had not heard of that one and it sounds pretty good for the money. Thank you again.

I just bought a 2wd team associated roller, It has a servo, and I already bought a radio and receiver. I need a motor, speed control, and battery. What would you recommend?
I'm thinking 17.5 because I want to be able to clear all the jumps.
I'm guessing you bought buggy? Are you racing or just using it to play in the fields?

I bought a hobbywing XR10 G2s pro. And Reedy 17.5 got both used. And I won the first two races I've entered.
