Bruh, my mechanic told me to sell my car and buy a new one. Then I found your video and fixed my car myself. You're a godsend. If you have any tips in changing the serpentine belt on a 09 corolla, please lmk 🙏
There are a couple of cars that the owners want to sell so they can go buy another. I will buy them, fix this and put them back on the market for 4x as much!!!
I have a hand-me-down 2006 toyota corolla, maxed odometer for over a year, and a check engine light that will rarely go off after an oil change. The code i recieved is faulty solenoid. Im an idiot and after watching ur vid, realized ive been good with oil, have gone through a ton of raidiator fluid (bc every few weeks the engine starts getting hot, but settles after the heater kicks in), but have failed on the trans fluid. Just purchased a trans solenoid from rock auto. 100% positive my trans fluid is prob non existent 🤦♀️ i try lol! Thank you so much for your video! Fixing this problem def isnt rocket surgery and i need this car to keep working! Im a disabled cancer survivor and indont have the funds for another vehicle. Ty again!! Im hoping after gettimg the trans fluid up to par and replece that shift solenoid ill be ok ❤
@@OrdinarySupergirl thats still amazing. ive got a scion xd (same engine & transmission as the 1.8L matrix, vibe, corolla) and only 118k miles... i hope to have as many as you as time goes on!
@@UriyZ9mb8e im so happy my dads old commuter (he was a cop and had about an hour commute for a while) I am dealing with a few small issues now. I think it maybe from the coolant leak causing corrosion to that sensor. Despite it all, the car has lasted for longer than expected! ❤
For a 2009 toyota corolla, the SMOG shop guy said to get it smogged and fix the pressure control solenoid prob. in the transmission (problem was P2716) , He wants $2500 / F&R AUTO. in WASCO , CALIFORNIA. im a female so I know he saw me coming. I'm glad i saw this video.

Great video! I have a 2006 Camry that the engine was replaced in due to the last engine jumping timing. Currently i’m having issues with the car staying at 3K+ RPM at about 60+ MPH. Pretty sure it’s one of the solenoids.
Thanks for the great camera work. I’m starting on an 01 Lexus RX 300. A Highlander with lipstick. I’m sure your video will be applicable to our vehicle as well. This seems to be a common Toyota problem. The need for a filter change is also often the problem. They do get clogged after 150,000 miles. I cut mine in half and it was really a mess.
Nice work. I have a camry 2005 xle full option. For a while now it have been hesitating forward movement but works verywell on reverse transmission. Have spend too much money on repair to no avail pls help.
thanks for these educational videos... i have a 2001 toyota ext. cab 2.4 l. (4 cyl) automatic trans. problem is that when i drive it for maybe 20-30 mins the temperature starts to rise and it won't run anymore so I have to turn it off, wait for it to cool off and then it runs again and that is the cycle. I'd really appreciate ur advice or comment. thanks in advance
Great video, after 5 years i found someone making a fix similar to what i might need, hey man, what about p0746 pressure control A performance solenoid/stuck off. Its a camry 2003 le, its being this way since one winter going up a steep driveway spinning the tires, after that always revs before shift when stop the car, and reverse only works when its warm and jerks badly if is reversing in a steep angle. First time after got messed up it would not engage in reverse. I replaced fluid and filter, seemed be less worse but issue still going, i bought another car later but kept the camry, i was away for awhile in the army, now back home and its time to fix the camry
Well boss! Is that solenoid in charge of the Drive mode ?? Cause I have to deal with one actually, when the fluid become hot 🔥 there's no problem but Early in the morning I've to wait 2 or 3 minutes after switching on the car before the car moves in Drive mode!
I have a question I have a Toyota Camry 2018 it give me a transmission shift control solenoid. But this car don’t have underneath transmission oil pan so it could be the black pan in front ok the transmission torch to the engine or not
Where did you get the solenoid? I got a 2005 Corolla for my grand nieces; it threw a P0741, but the Check Engine light went out after a week. Dunno if it will come back, probably will. 131K. Fluid looked good.
Good work dude! Where did you buy the solenoid from? I’ve tried looking on Rock Auto for my Toyota Rav4 but no luck. Just don’t wanna buy the wrong one
I’m on my moms account but I have a 99 LS400 I’m getting a p0763 solenoid c in transmission code should I try cleaning solenoid c and pressure line solenoid before getting new solenoid?
AMAZING VIDEO!!! the only part i was like "what?" on, was the magnets in the pan... did the new pan come with new magnets?? where exactly are they suppose to go and what is their function?? can you do without them? can they come loose and mess with the transmission?
You can take them off and put them in your new pan if you're going to buy a new pan they stay in place. Theyre for collecting any little shavings or metal dust
I'm getting po756 solenoid stuck off it goes backwards but not drive I'm thinking to change solenoid ammco saying it's transmission but I don't think they checked anything else just gave me a 6k quote worth more then the car any suggestions
you've replaeced the pressure control solenoid? my corolla shiftrs great if i granny it or accelerate hard, typical driving makes it slam into second gear
I replaced the same one you did and I still have issues. I think it’s the line presssure solenoid but I don’t see how I’d even get it out, there’s not unless I break it off
My 2007 Rav4 U151E delays first gear every morning for about 5 full minutes. The rest of the day is fine, no delay unless it sits for 8 hours. I also noticed if it's cold outside, 1st gear will delay again in a about 4 hours. What solenoid would 1st gear be?
Solenoid A controls first gear. Initially I would make sure the transmission fluid is full and check for codes. Possibly could be a faulty solenoid/low fluid pressure.
@@richardfix3937 Not sure but my mechanic said I am loosing pressure. Perhaps due to this seal leak. So far, he has dropped the transmission and opened it up. I just returned from 3 weeks out of town for work. I need to go visit him.
Hey I got that same code on a 2018 Toyota Camry se but I could move my car but when I shift from first to second I have a shudder. Can I get some help?
Junkyard bud. Or online literally anywhere. Go oem. "07 corolla S transmission shift solenoid". Try rock auto or something. Best to go cheap at a junkyard to make sure that that's really your issue. There's many ways to diagnose a p0741 code. I have that code but I can shift just fine. Deep low hum and transmission power loss though, from dirty transmission fluid. I'm headed to a junkyard today to grab another solenoid. You best do the same unless you really wanna go brand new. They're expensive pieces.
Sir im having problem that my car can move to reverse but couldnt engage to D gear also 3,L. Is that the problem is this solenoid can you confirm please.
You can buy it new from many Toyota dealerships with online discounts for a few hundred bucks, part #35250-12030, Automatic Transmission Control Solenoid. I found mine used off a Matrix at the junk yard for $79, works great. Can also get one off a 03'-08' Corolla. Just go OEM.
P0741 torque converter clutch solenoid circuit performance or stuck off. Replacing the shift solenoid restored the performance- just need to keep the fluid full
Hi! I have mine too- they last changed the fluid 60k, the car right now is 120k, i tried the bolt and was working perfectly. Do you think the fluid was just dirty?
Es por eso que tienes que tener amigos wueritos lo que te puede costar 2000 ellos les cuesta 100 porque les gusta estudiar ser exactos en todo y por eso se cotisan bien
The filter on most Toyotas of that generation if not all use what would be essentially a steel wool screen. If it was a paper filter I would say change it but it being a steel wool style filter then it's okay.
