As a resident Yusei fanboy, I love this deck and is what drew me to Edison in the first place. Drill Warrior is such an interestingly designed card too. A bit sad to hear that the deck has some issues with innovation though; hopefully someone will break the mold sooner rather than later.
I think it’s imperative u have a prominent player from Edison format in every one of these videos where u cover decks from back then. A lot of the takes you had on sideboard or main board deck choices are not taking into account how many ruling changes and erratas cards have gotten over the years. Having that perspective is crucial when u have takes like “Light and Darkness Dragon is a bad card” when back then rulings favored the card heavily and made it way more powerful than it is today. I LOVE that the formats me and friends dominated in are getting a lot of love from newer players! But you guys needa have some OG‘s on ur channel if ur gonna discuss OG decks and reasonings for card choices!
These videos are incredibly informative! I hope we can get one of these videos for X-Sabers, since I haven't seen much discussion on them. Amazing series and I hope to see more!
Great vid! Especially think the "options" part of these are super informative. Hoping someone finally cracks the QDD code as it's a super cool deck imo
Drill warrior, like vayu and zero, is a 2013 card made in 2010. Kind of hard to believe this deck hasn’t had more success recently. Maybe because it goes through it’s own resources in a few turns if drill warrior and dandy don’t work.
Well said. I think cards like Jar and LaDD are kind of the opposite. They were good back then because we as players were different. It wasn't the power of the card it was the lack of way to play around it. I'm building QD right now and I'm omitting both of those
I can't wait to enter my first Edison tournament I think I may of found a way to break this deck finally. I play a ton of ladder and have looked for many ways to fix it's issues. The volcanics are a double negative I have found shell alone is good enough and when you go the accelerator route you have to give up too much. The decks biggest issue is losing card advantage to get the engine rolling so I looked for ways to fix that while leaning into the decks strengths. Crashing a tomato into a sangan to search anything you need really helps fix bad hands especially because you can lonefire the tomato. I won a game today against a hero deck that opened good enough for double absolute zero. On the last turn I had sangan he torrentials my field I grab a crow he scoops and lays his hand down it's fusion recovery/king of swamps without searching crow he wins on the spot. I wanna keep some of the other parts under wraps currently as I finish developing it but this deck can absolutely win vrs even broken decks of today
I can't remember who said it first but what finally moved me off the old lists was this idea that somehow this deck always manages to lose with five cards in hand. It's something I'd like to mess around with more because debris/dandy into brd always feels good but these days it just doesn't happen like it did a decade ago and instead you just lose trying to set it up.
Have you heard of anyone experimenting with adding a mini Vayu engine to this deck? Helps with fragility to Oppression while giving the deck offense without using normal summon. Or has the tightness of the Extra Deck been a barrier to entry to someone attempting to make the idea viable?
I haven't tried that! I'd be interested to see what a build looks like of that. You'd need at least 4 extra deck slots for 2 armed wing 1 armor master and silverwind.
I just subscribed, great content. I would suggest to throw in a lyla if playing charge. This helps to clear cards faster like royal oppresion in a lot of situations.
I was playing the deck with the tomato package, i included plague to have an answer to decks like dragons and also you can make 5 monsters quick plus getting a sangan search out of a lonefire. Definitely this is my favorite deck to play.
I believe the missing card in the jeff jones list was call of the haunted Btw i'm new to the format, and your videos are great to get a grasp of the format! In my city there are weekly edison locals (15+ ppl so it's great) and i'm going to build a deck soon
I wonder, how has experimenting with Quilbolt Hedgehog or Tuningware done for this deck? Tuningware offers a free level for synchro summons, and a draw if it is used. Quilbolt can revive itself just by having a tuber on field.
@@sadmemelord1633 activates in hand. Ladd does not destroy, only negates. So quickdraw returns to hand to keep using over and over before discard which is not cost. I believe is the case.
You probably don't want Card Trooper at 3 in this format. It is a Machine Dupe target, a Limiter Removal target, and sets up for 9 Avarice targets. I would expect Machine's to become too OP if Trooper where at 3.
I know the guys at edisonformat.com try to have paper tournaments listed on their site if TOs reach out to them. Also join the discord in the description, usually word of paper tournaments finds its way there as well
do you really want to be playing a -1 that eats your normal summon just to make a synchro and cant be returned with avarice and has no upside when milled? also the tokens can't be used by lonefire or caius or tytannial unlike the dandy tokens so idk i havent tried it tho, so it could be good. I'm just not really seeing it on paper
Been messing around with this build and with a version using volcanic rockets. Which build do you think is better? I find the rocket version more aggressive with wing blast abusing +1s from volcanic cards. My only complaint about this deck is how you can randomly die out of nowhere. Does the battle fader alleviate that?
you dont get any benefit from drawing into one specific card. you have multiple bricks in deck (like seeing too many avarice/caius/tytannial early) and it decreases the effectiveness of your blind mills with ryko and trooper and makes your avarices harder to go online. In general, upstart is better when you're trying to turbo towards a power spell or a power opener. Quickdraw doesnt really have that outside of specifically opening quickdraw dandy debris. The additional percentage of opening specifically those 3 cards going first isnt worth the extra life points and worse mills you get or the extra percentages of opening tytannial or double lonefire.
I honestly feel that Quickdraw is one of the weaker decks in the pool og popular decks. It has some great plays but in "today's" meta they simply appear weak. Hopefully someone will soon have a breakthrough with this

ab zero came out in 2008 in ocg, insane card for its time
I think 2013 is a bit too far. Dragon rulers were out 😅 so i would say start of 2012 or more like 2011

my last bushi vid got demonetized LMFAO apparently youtube didn't like the title "bushi did 9/11"

Exactly that! The activity in the early game is low and the format is a little too aggressive to play stuff like 3 avarice effectively.

Based on your analysis, the deck might benefit from jinzo and decree especially post side, you could even lean into tribute monsters 😉
Decree for sure! Jinzo awkward with debris nuke tho

just keep practicing! watch some of the gameplay from RBET02 and RBET03 and you'll see a few players who succeeded with the deck
