I was pissed when I saw this model came out few weeks after I bought my nextone artist. It cut more through and has more authoritarian tone though I feel both can't replicate each other's. I think it's due to the speaker in particular.
The Nextone Artist has a more saggy tone with a breakup that remind me the blooming lows of an old fender combo. I like to play it with the clean channel boosted and cranked with different tone at the tip of your fingers and volume.
For the second channel, the special is the champ though, it takes humbuckers better than the artist IMO.

Need help, just got a fender blues deluxe, thinking of trading this in on the nextone. Opinions please
I tried this and the katana and had to go with the katana.
This is a great sounding amp but the katana has all the effects as well.
And this is more money than the katana.
But for those who want to use their own effects with an amp….here’s a platform for you.
Yes, but the core tone is superior on this one.
I have this and the katana artist. Katana does more but Nextone sounds literally just like an awesome tube amp when dialled in. Nextone special has boost, compression, delay, reverb, tremelo and solo boost. Its 3 two channel Amps with the effects you need. Love my katana but Nextone is another level.
@@robbie12207 nextone has effects other than delay and reverb built in? I didn’t see that when I tried the amp. Is it through software included?

Has reverb, a few distortion pedals, delay, tremolo and compression. Cheers
@@guskalogeros9021 do it. If you can afford it, the special and gafc pedal . Special has a much better cabinet and speaker also. It has all the reverbs, delays, tremolo, compressor, fuzz, over drive , boosters and distortions you’ll ever need plus endless eq in the software also

Is it possible to get a metal tone or Mesa type sound out of this amp?
It’s possible yes, but it wasn’t build for that. Now if you have external pedals, any tone is possible.

They’re very different. The Special is better but less flexible just by it’s own. If you’re into more of a vintage tone get the Special. Then again, with outside pedals you can make the Special sound as you want. Many thanks 🙏🏻

Hello! i have some difficulty connecting boss nextone special to Mac OS Monterey ((( Installed nextone driver ver. 1.0.2 for macOS and nextone special editor ver 1.0.0 for macOS The computer says that I have an old version of nextone. Please tell me, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

@@JucaNeryGuitar I managed to figure out this situation. Most likely the reason for my failures is that the driver is only relevant for MacOS 11. I have MacOS 12 Monterey software installed. Unfortunately, the current driver is not available on the network ((
