It is an accessibility feature that was locked behind a paywall, they will nerf it when they decide to make another accessibility set that people with high ping, lag, or slow reaction time or skills can use to equalize the playing field. This is their "random bullet spray" feature to make the game easier, provided that people pay to get the set. By now, the only reason to get that dlc is for this set, and that is like $20, or get eso plus, which $200 a year. You guys think ZOS balances for gameplay, they balance for monetization. Every decision they make is based on sucking money out of players, and getting new players to play so they can get their money.
People are worrying about dying in a mode that has unlimited lives...that said, the 40k tank players/ball groups are the issue with Cyrodil, not Tarnished.
Both are, so people literally lost their ballz and play full tank and proc you down in a game where you as you said have unlimited lifes, but tarnished IS overperforming way too many use it but thats not only a tarnished problem isnt it? Because zos is terrible at balancing pvp and it is honestly not that easy since this game has so many unique shit but nonetheless magsorc for example is also not nerfed next patch (atleast not how it should be) hardened ward is the most broken defensive ability in the game and it doesnt get changed. Its not about dying in a mode that has unlimited lives, its about dying when you're defending a keep against a horde of zerglings using tarnished that can flag a keep in 30s because nobody can get close enough to them. Then spending 10 minutes trying to get back in hopes that the zerglings dont kill everyone in an instant and take the keep. Most people defending Tarnished are the same people cheesing pvp with it, you only call yourself out. Those 40k+ tanks still have a really hard time defending against tarnished because of how much damage it can do, and besides yall huff invisibility like gasoline so if youre ever alone in a fight you just go invis anytime your not being hit and vanish anyways. But yea, the tanks trying to defend their keeps are the problem, (probably because you cant one shot them) 😂😂
I started cyrodiil as a dps, but very quickly learned how to tank specifically because of Tarnished, so if you ask me, the tanks arent the problem, they are the RESPONSE to the problem that is tarnished.

Ye right.ZoS can't implement good PvP like other games.But I also think people much over using broken builds and even casual players cannot play PvP because they being raped by orcs with tons of healing and mitigation.
Tank wardens in battlegrounds standing point to point to flags. Cyrodiil magsorcs, tarnish, NA/PC GH EP night cap, neon alt trolling AD, 100000 AD zergs 3 players in nik or sej, DC ball group disconnecting players with real life magic, tower huggers etc etc etc. This is what the game is and will always be with its imperfection. Majority of players will follow meta. Most players gank or ignore 1v1 honor because most of them just attack on sight; it is an open world pvp mode. There isn't even a consensus PVP rule/etiquette video or guide for cyrodiil so the behavior is extremely grey.
IMO there is no etiquette or honor in Cyrodiil. At least there doesn't need to be. Like you said, it's an open world PvP zone. People can act however honorable they want. If someone wants to bow before fighting they should find a dueling guild.

They nerfed caluurions right before tarnished released, it's clear that they aware of how op this set is, they made it that way. So, until they need to sell you new shit, tarnished will stay as it is.
I disagree it isn't ruining PvP, about time 40k tanks with insane healing get to actually receive damage for once. Tank meta has been an issue in this game for years and everytime something comes out that can cut that bs off the PvP players whine about it until it's nerfed and everyone is back to not killing eachother again, Ex: Calurions.
Yeah but caluurions did more damage than actual players, also there was no tank meta when that set was popular. Damage was high back then because no proc had just ended and proc sets like that was allowed back in pvp

It's not a very good argument, the game is totally different to back then. We were just coming off no proc and not having mechanical acuity, VD, or any procs and most people didn't even understand how CP 2.0 worked back then so they got easily dunked on. The game just deteriorated because everyone got 1000 based weapon damage and 1k health mag and stam from CP changes, plus change to vigor, rallying cry, etc. The game has just become a lot easier. Caluurions is far before a time when the game was easy. What was a 10k caluurions back then could easily be a 12-15k proc by today standards

The ttk in pvp is way to slow in this game & when it finally speeds up ESO players cry about it because they rely on their unkillable sets vs learning how to outplay & get good.
Instant procs were such a problem in the past that ZOS had to put delays on procs and also make sure that procs couldnt fire at the same time. They did all that and then - with complete knowledge of the problem - put tarnished knightmare in the game. It's completely intentional in order to sell the DLC.
They need to bring back % chances on proc sets. Why does bloodspawn still have 6% but you can use other procs instantly for 6k-20k+ damage with no restriction and everyone thinks it's fine? The only proc set that shouldnt have % chance is VD because it only activates on player death
@@xyourdeus4972 Just delay the proc and give a way to spot you have the proc on you so you can block. That's all. % chance doesn't fix it as when you get hit you still have no way to counter it.

The problem is not that hardly that you see it, the problem is that you get zerged by it because it's Top 5 popular set in the game. Think about every other popular proc set that came out since %'s were removed, crimson twilight, dark convergence on launch, hrothgar. Everyone in PVP ran these sets because there was no risk and it was guaranteed to let you get easy kills. Putting % chance immediately makes all the people who are just using it for free damage rethink their builds because they are using a 5 piece with no guarantee to even kill anything to begin with.
Tarnished is fine. The biggest trend i see now in highest mmr bgs and cyro is the warden and Templar tanks the run mech acuity. They are basically tanks that can kill whole groups every 20 seconds and never die. Ive had to re do a lot of builds to try and counter it. Not balanced at all
I agree that the high health builds are really annoying and awful for the meta (thank god warden is getting an arctic blast nerf and not a polar wind nerf right?) but I genuinely cant stand the insane free damage that tarnished provides. I feel like it's got so much in its kit for what it does.

IMO they should keep the 8 seconds, cap it at a distance of 10m, and proc off direct crit damage only. Getting hit with multiple Tarnish procs off of dot damage while you're not in their LOS is BS in my opinion.
Meanwhile ZOS put proc sets back into no cp. Whole reason a lot of us enjoyed playing there was to avoid all of the flavor of the month no skill meta BS like this. Now there's no avoiding it.
I've seen too many content creators make videos like these only to get ignored by ZOS and then they moved on from the game. And it's the most tragic thing ever to me.

When I die it's not even to tarnished... It doesn't hit that hard. If it didn't have a sound effect tied to it you wouldn't even notice it. It is not over performing, and I do not use it 90% of the time.
I see a lot of copium from tarnished users in chat saying things like it helps combat tanks and ball groups. But be honest those guys are the LEAST affected by tarnished.

@@alchemist9905 same as the old bleed meta. Something isnt a "tank killer" when it indiscriminately kills non tanky players at the same rate. You should have to spec into tankiness to be tanky. There shouldnt have to be a compensation to make higher damage sets. Really half the "tank meta" comes from everyone playing vamp lol. If zos just didnt butcher the vamp reworks we wouldnt have this problem.
I think the real problem is hundings. But for real proc sets should not out DPS stat-based builds but a lot of the time they are higher. It's a problem eso has had for ages.
Right, cross healing was never an original issue because hots and dots never stacked. Seeing as zos wants hots and dots to stack, the only way to help address this would be to make it so you can only heal players in your group. If you are not in any group, you can heal other players not in groups. This could help reduce calcs on the server aswell while really only hurting 40+ man stacks. Solo/Small man teams already build to survive on their own.

@@sketchables Funny enough most of the heal desyncs solely come from light>medium attack issues where your client says it did a light attack, but the server lag thinks you did a medium attack. This corrects after 1s.... but depending on the rules of what determines if you are "dead" had us stuck with the current health desync...... They tried to fix this issue a while ago, but what happened was when they changed the ruling people would be desynced still walking/fighting for 1s while at 0hp before a server correction took place appearing to heal them for the misinterpreted damage.
They create sets to deal a lot of area damage and provide resources to mess up ball groups, but every set they release only ends up benefiting the ball groups themselves. Snake in the Stars, Oblivion's Foe, Azureblight, Tarnished... Why doesn't Zenimax have the capability to solve something as simple as healing share? Instead, they end up creating piles of these noob sets. Tarnished doesn't have a cooldown for a single person taking damage from this set. If 10 people are using it, you'll get hit with 10 Tarnished effects at once. That's ridiculous. And this thing procs with anything, in an area, ranged, melee, dots... Wtf (Sorry for the English)
The first iteration on mara balm was almost perfect in that sense, they coulf have reduced the healing only, it wasnt that good for ball group that fight 1 tob4 or 5 ppl, but with the 1sec cd its just become crap for about any build, sap heal twice the amount so.
Ballgroups don't use Snake in the Stars, Oblivion's Foe, Azureblight OR Tarnished lmao. It's also very hard for a ballgroup to survive constant azureblight and snake procs.
As somebody else mentioned, those are not really sets balls run. Way more broken is stuff like Powerful Assault, Saxheel, Robes of Transmutation, Pillagers Profit, Rush of Agony, Plaguebreak, Vicious Death, Dark Con, SPC, Drake Rush etc etc. Even if you limit crosshealing the syngerizing power of these sets increases the damage, resistence and ulti gen of ballgroup to a level, that for unorganized players it would still be impossible to kill them. There are ways (Battlespirit i.e.) to tame these sets in Pvp (and still let them do the magic in pve), but as ZoS does not go this route can only mean one thing: It is the intended way to play! Either accept it or play something else, because they will not change it.
Tell me you do not pvp in group without telling me lol. Oblivion foe, Azure blight and snake in stars is some of the sets used by organised groups against ball groups. There is a difference between the 2, group comp, positioning/formation and fight tactics very different. Git gud maybe?
Good video! Thank you for addressing tarnished and I agree with the idea of removing the sundered status effect. Also think maybe they should make that cooldown in the range of 12-16 seconds. I think they also should consider doing something to rallying cry. I use rally on everything but my mag sorc (so three characters) and it will be annoying having to switch up builds, but the fact that the majority of build videos from content creators suggest rallying cry backbar should tell ya something needs to be done there too.
Tarnished is a great proc burst set but it isnt being used too much because its op, its being used too much because its one of the few ranged proc sets that doesnt suck imo. The other ones being rele, famously hard to keep stacks up from range unless you are a god or sorc in which case you dont wanna go stam anyway and wof which is a great set but not as bursty that still do similar or higher damage than tarnished on the long run
I mainly 1vX/2vX, the set is annoying to deal with but not completely a free win. The issue I have with it is the obscenely loud SFX. It's a horrible noise and WAY louder than anything else. There have been times where my brain just shuts off because of the noise. I lose the fight because I stop pressing buttons, get flustered and can't recover in real life, let alone in game.
I think you're right the Sundered status needs to be removed. I think also it should include the condition "Dealing Critical Damage with a Martial melee attack...", locking it to proc off melee only. It would reinstate the risk-reward idea you mentioned.
I can't agree that Tarnished Nightmare is a problem. For one, no one can stop people from playing the way they play whether ranged or up close and personal. An increase in a cooldown from Tarnished Nightmare's 5 piece bonus is irrelevant too. At the end of the day, we don't know when the bonus is going to fire off anyway.
So there is two main issue with your objective with this video. The first problem is that the issue is created by PvP players that gatekeep setups that actually work. So when one finally comes out and it is very good, you better believe everybody will use it. The second reason is that without the tarnished set, PvP will just become a placed filled with people that love building tanks and having zero down sides to it. Do what you will with this feedback.
Ive never had an issue with Tarnished, even as solo or small scale grp (2-4). The biggest killer is being overwhelmed by sheer numbers or dying to really good players.

Tarnished needs a universal cool down. Meaning only 1 can hit you, PERIOD, every like 10 seconds. Not 6 at the same fkn time from 6 different losers. BGs are 100% killing the game. Unkillable and create huge lag spikes.
I don't run it but I don't mind it even when on the receiving end. I'm pretty well equipped to deal with tarnished NBs, although I got deleted from the server earlier by a good tarnished NB. Much better than the dark convergence era
completely agree, proc sets like this are also why people who currently play on no cp are not thrilled with the addition of proc sets back into no cp pvp
Is tarnished ruining pvp? No. Does it represent everything that is ruining pvp? Yes. It’s just unchecked power with no effort. I’m cool with proc sets, but tarnished specifically gives you too much for an 8 sec cooldown
Tarnished is annoying, but if you pair it with Anthelmir (the monster set) it becomes lethal at range. Even on my melee NB i am surprised how many times I actually end up killing players with ice heavies if both sets proc.
They ruined the game by getting rid of % chance off proc sets, in the past they all had an RNG chance to activate like between 6% and 25% chance to activate, and Zos made most procs instant procs and theres no surprise the game got considerably worse. Not to mention you can scale them up with stats too
% chance is part of the reason the servers were so bad back then. Unfortunately I don't think they'll make a return without ZOS investment in the servers.
@@awilddevereaux Which is funny because the servers needing investment is one of the major issues of the game and why people go procs. Skills may not activate or fire off with delay, but procs always work. They did a server migration upgrade in 2023 and performance on all megaservers saw a massive upgrade. The issue is quite literally they refuse to continually invest in the servers.
I just started playing eso again, just earlier on xbox, is the first time i was in pvp for more then 10 minutes. and all i hear was glass smashing sounds the entire time i was in a fight. easily more then 5 people in the one fight on DC using it.
I have NEVER died from tarnished, it's been in my death recap doing around 3-4k damage but it isn't what kills me. vicious death and DC hit way harder. If a skill doing 4k damage is what's killing you then idk that sounds like a you problem 😅
This may be an unpopular take and feel free to have an opposing opinion, but I run Tarnished as part of my sets for my Arcanist and love it because Arcanist has next to zero burst DPS, it's consistent and cleave, but little to no burst while EVERY other class in the game has burst. So Tarnished gives me a little extra burst that I need. I'm no sweaty PvP player but this helps and in PvE content it's a wonderful addition to my cleave from the green beam and falil. So I'm sorry but not sorry this has not been nerfed. My class has been nerfed enough already,.. especially since removing my class execute skill!!
Here's the problem... you also got way of the fire just as fast. I think the "sound" of tarnished has a built-in mental factor, lol From my experience, really high crit resist builds seem to pretty effective against tarnished. Kinda like high fire resist builds is good against way of the fire. As an average player, it doesn't bother me much. Even started using tarnished for first time recently. To be honest, it seems to go in spurts. I encounter way of the fire way more. Though sometimes, I feel like I run into a lot of tarnished also.
before tarnished it was plague/dark convergence, before that it was a million werewolves running Alessian order etc etc. These scrubs will run to these sets quicker that it took you to be hit by tarnished! haha I still think the best time in cyrodiil was when we had no procs with CP as it took skill to play, groups needed healers and it felt really balanced. All the scrubs disappeared too!
I just came back to the game after a four year break. I've been playing on and off since launch. I'm looking at content online to get me up to date on the game and it looks like nothing has changed fundamentally. Same player complaints, same server issues. The only really change is the dwindling population of Cyrodiil. Unfortunately, I don't think ZOS will ever get the cat back in the bag.
I will add though that my first death back in Cyrodiil was getting deleted by someone running this set lol. I didn't even know what happened. Sounded like getting hit by a sorc but they were invisible.
i dont know about game these days, but back than 10y ago, bloodspawn op; as temp sitting in mana armor buff, every 15sec proc on bloodspawn basically made you OP additionally temp ult heal was lagg infected with not using; i could spam 8 ult heals vs 30 players attacking me not dying at all
There is a guild called "Carried by Tarnished" out there. It makes me laugh when I see it. And Tarnished gankers are just an annoyance. The D-Ring All Stars just love it too.
Tarnished is a really popular set, but I don't think it's good on anything besides crit NB. (Gankers included) I've had tarnished tick for 2-4k when i'm playing a bomber build that has zero defense other than major resolve, and when wearing 5 light and 2 med, all divines, with no defensive cp? Not a big deal. When it's a full ganker build, it hurts a little more, but nothing I really tend to care about.
a slight nerf to tarnished would be great, it makes some builds far too strong but tank meta really needs to change. vamp nerf will help that, people won't be soo tanky and still be able to burst you to oblivion but more is needed.
The set is kind of fine for dmg it could be nerfed slightly there. It really needs a cooldown per target once hit though so you can only take damage/debuffs from it every 8 seconds. Imo being able to be hit with 3+ at the same time is what makes it so broken. I have a pov of 3 blades proccing it on me in about the same gcd, it's tryhard af but it's just a no brainer to stack a whole group with it at this point and potential eat half or more of their hit points instantly just for hitting them with a light attack then kill the next person with the next burst of ez procs
I'ma be real, I think people actually learned about that set from videos like this in the last couple days. It was bad before but just in the last few days it's turned into like half all people are wearing this. Including groups of like 6+ NB just stealth killing people outside of keeps. As a solo, it's insane to deal with now. But hopefully it's so bad that it gets addressed soon.
Tarnished is ridiculous. Its the same way on Xbox-NA. Yesterday i was defending an outpost and i shit you not i went to set up the first oil and in the process i was simultaneously hit three times by it.
The only nerf tarnished needs is it shouldn't proc from dots. I have no issue survivng tarnished gankers. It is always the zergs of tanky losers with saint and seducer and meta sorcs all ulti people on dark convergence procs.
I've yet to meet a nb that can beat me 3 out of 5 while running tarnished, vs my gourmand/clever/markyn/balorgh... but, they do get lucky, I can give them that.

The thing is, ZOS knows this. They know about the tank meta and everything else op or that generates complaints. They don’t care. They are either doing it for a reason which may not be evident for a year or two, or nobody will ever know why. Or they just don’t care. I've been running Swift and Crit Riposte just to put up a fight with Nb's smh. I was running impen Briarheart armor with 30k resistance and was getting hit with 11k Tarnished from nb's smh. Most ults doesn't even hit that hard and take longer than 8 seconds to build up.
They need to make HoT’s of the same kind not stackable. No one should have 8 instances of healing from the same skill just because it came from different players. That’s insanity.
As a mag sorc main, I’m surprised more ppl aren’t complaining about sorc. Like are people really okay with me being this untouchable? Can’t remember the last time I died in a 1v1 or even a 1v2 in gh. Like damn I kinda miss having to worry about the whole death mechanic thing in PvP

I agree and dissagree. I agree and belive Tarnished being used as a ranged proc makes it problematic... Even though the damage is easily mitigated by blocking or completely diminished by a dodge. I think if using a staff/bow the proc should be x2 amount of time for proc chance. I don't see melee being an issue, a dodge every 8-10s when actively focusing on an enemy in your face; to mitigate the damage and proc conditions isn't an issue
@@Sekaar Haha exactly, I started cyrodiil as a dps templar but nothing I did would help me survive tarnished spam and invis ganks. I switched to a tank build and now my goal is to help the dps who were unfortuante enough to get hit by tarnished, not mention dark convergence
Tarnished damage isn’t that bad. What’s bad is the guaranteed aoe Sundered proc. Plus I bet the AoE damage portion is scaling off single target damage like Azure Blight… I think there are other things that need adjusting more than Tarnished
every single dingleberry is wearing tarnished nightmare and its all you can hear in pvp. i dont have a problem with people using the set, i have a problem with the sound it makes.
So this stupid stuck in combat glitch if there is any PvP in your radius even if your not involved it slots you in combat. Cheesemonger is my go to. It’s the worst sound effect in your ear, and NB’S forget about it there running 6 NB grps and just mount ganking. Unlike Scav Maw you can dodge that. PvP has been TARNISHED no pun attended VD Dark Convergence and Tarnished before these sets we actually could PvP’ Sekeer is 110 percent right he does not sugar coat anything he’s like me an old school player of skill and rotation. If you truly had no ego and wanted a true experience of what Sekeer is saying Ravenwatch or Imperial City no proc no go will make you be a skill player. There will always be over powered options in any pvp game mode. Destiny, call of duty, eso you name it. I’ll take tarnished over the super tank meta though. Honestly there needs to be a lot of love put into pvp. I think if they put some more effort into it there would be less cheese. Wouldn’t eliminate all the cheese but would be less.
I think the tarnished proc sound volume should be increased by 200%.

By now, the only reason to get that dlc is for this set, and that is like $20, or get eso plus, which $200 a year. You guys think ZOS balances for gameplay, they balance for monetization. Every decision they make is based on sucking money out of players, and getting new players to play so they can get their money.
Tarnished is too damn good. The AoE sundered that’s unavoidable is just too loaded. That being said, I’ll keep abusing it until it gets fixed 🙃

People are worrying about dying in a mode that has unlimited lives...that said, the 40k tank players/ball groups are the issue with Cyrodil, not Tarnished.
Both are, so people literally lost their ballz and play full tank and proc you down in a game where you as you said have unlimited lifes, but tarnished IS overperforming way too many use it but thats not only a tarnished problem isnt it? Its not about dying in a mode that has unlimited lives, its about dying when you're defending a keep against a horde of zerglings using tarnished that can flag a keep in 30s because nobody can get close enough to them. Then spending 10 minutes trying to get back in hopes that the zerglings dont kill everyone in an instant and take the keep.
Most people defending Tarnished are the same people cheesing pvp with it, you only call yourself out.
Those 40k+ tanks still have a really hard time defending against tarnished because of how much damage it can do, and besides yall huff invisibility like gasoline so if youre ever alone in a fight you just go invis anytime your not being hit and vanish anyways.

I started cyrodiil as a dps, but very quickly learned how to tank specifically because of Tarnished, so if you ask me, the tanks arent the problem, they are the RESPONSE to the problem that is tarnished.

Tank wardens in battlegrounds standing point to point to flags. Cyrodiil magsorcs, tarnish, NA/PC GH EP night cap, neon alt trolling AD, 100000 AD zergs 3 players in nik or sej, DC ball group disconnecting players with real life magic, tower huggers etc etc etc.
This is what the game is and will always be with its imperfection. Majority of players will follow meta. Most players gank or ignore 1v1 honor because most of them just attack on sight; it is an open world pvp mode. There isn't even a consensus PVP rule/etiquette video or guide for cyrodiil so the behavior is extremely grey.
IMO there is no etiquette or honor in Cyrodiil. At least there doesn't need to be. Like you said, it's an open world PvP zone. People can act however honorable they want.

The game just deteriorated because everyone got 1000 based weapon damage and 1k health mag and stam from CP changes, plus change to vigor, rallying cry, etc. The game has just become a lot easier. Caluurions is far before a time when the game was easy. What was a 10k caluurions back then could easily be a 12-15k proc by today standards

Instant procs were such a problem in the past that ZOS had to put delays on procs and also make sure that procs couldnt fire at the same time. They did all that and then - with complete knowledge of the problem - put tarnished knightmare in the game. It's completely intentional in order to sell the DLC.

The problem is not that hardly that you see it, the problem is that you get zerged by it because it's Top 5 popular set in the game. Think about every other popular proc set that came out since %'s were removed, crimson twilight, dark convergence on launch, hrothgar. Everyone in PVP ran these sets because there was no risk and it was guaranteed to let you get easy kills.
Putting % chance immediately makes all the people who are just using it for free damage rethink their builds because they are using a 5 piece with no guarantee to even kill anything to begin with.

Tarnished is fine. The biggest trend i see now in highest mmr bgs and cyro is the warden and Templar tanks the run mech acuity. They are basically tanks that can kill whole groups every 20 seconds and never die. Ive had to re do a lot of builds to try and counter it. Not balanced at all

I agree that the high health builds are really annoying and awful for the meta (thank god warden is getting an arctic blast nerf and not a polar wind nerf right?) but I genuinely cant stand the insane free damage that tarnished provides. I feel like it's got so much in its kit for what it does.

I think the real problem is hundings. But for real proc sets should not out DPS stat-based builds but a lot of the time they are higher. It's a problem eso has had for ages.

Seeing as zos wants hots and dots to stack, the only way to help address this would be to make it so you can only heal players in your group. If you are not in any group, you can heal other players not in groups.
This could help reduce calcs on the server aswell while really only hurting 40+ man stacks. Solo/Small man teams already build to survive on their own.
When particular proc sets lag you out and you instantly die before any effects show on your screen, the set is broken

@@sketchables Funny enough most of the heal desyncs solely come from light>medium attack issues where your client says it did a light attack, but the server lag thinks you did a medium attack. This corrects after 1s.... but depending on the rules of what determines if you are "dead" had us stuck with the current health desync...... They tried to fix this issue a while ago, but what happened was when they changed the ruling people would be desynced still walking/fighting for 1s while at 0hp before a server correction took place appearing to heal them for the misinterpreted damage.
Actually, I just use Mara's Balm to counter it, even after the nerf, it unironically does wonders against Tarnished Nightmare.

They create sets to deal a lot of area damage and provide resources to mess up ball groups, but every set they release only ends up benefiting the ball groups themselves. Snake in the Stars, Oblivion's Foe, Azureblight, Tarnished... Why doesn't Zenimax have the capability to solve something as simple as healing share? Instead, they end up creating piles of these noob sets. Tarnished doesn't have a cooldown for a single person taking damage from this set. If 10 people are using it, you'll get hit with 10 Tarnished effects at once. That's ridiculous. And this thing procs with anything, in an area, ranged, melee, dots... Wtf (Sorry for the English)
The first iteration on mara balm was almost perfect in that sense, they coulf have reduced the healing only, it wasnt that good for ball group that fight 1 tob4 or 5 ppl, but with the 1sec cd its just become crap for about any build, sap heal twice the amount so.

Ballgroups don't use Snake in the Stars, Oblivion's Foe, Azureblight OR Tarnished lmao.
It's also very hard for a ballgroup to survive constant azureblight and snake procs.
As somebody else mentioned, those are not really sets balls run. Way more broken is stuff like Powerful Assault, Saxheel, Robes of Transmutation, Pillagers Profit, Rush of Agony, Plaguebreak, Vicious Death, Dark Con, SPC, Drake Rush etc etc. Even if you limit crosshealing the syngerizing power of these sets increases the damage, resistence and ulti gen of ballgroup to a level, that for unorganized players it would still be impossible to kill them. There are ways (Battlespirit i.e.) to tame these sets in Pvp (and still let them do the magic in pve), but as ZoS does not go this route can only mean one thing: It is the intended way to play! Either accept it or play something else, because they will not change it.
Tell me you do not pvp in group without telling me lol. Oblivion foe, Azure blight and snake in stars is some of the sets used by organised groups against ball groups. There is a difference between the 2, group comp, positioning/formation and fight tactics very different.

Good video! Thank you for addressing tarnished and I agree with the idea of removing the sundered status effect. Also think maybe they should make that cooldown in the range of 12-16 seconds. I think they also should consider doing something to rallying cry. I use rally on everything but my mag sorc (so three characters) and it will be annoying having to switch up builds, but the fact that the majority of build videos from content creators suggest rallying cry backbar should tell ya something needs to be done there too.
Tarnished is a great proc burst set but it isnt being used too much because its op, its being used too much because its one of the few ranged proc sets that doesnt suck imo. The other ones being rele, famously hard to keep stacks up from range unless you are a god or sorc in which case you dont wanna go stam anyway and wof which is a great set but not as bursty that still do similar or higher damage than tarnished on the long run
If anything with the ia sets we will be getting even more support for ranged proc playstyle which is great

I mainly 1vX/2vX, the set is annoying to deal with but not completely a free win. The issue I have with it is the obscenely loud SFX. It's a horrible noise and WAY louder than anything else. There have been times where my brain just shuts off because of the noise. I lose the fight because I stop pressing buttons, get flustered and can't recover in real life, let alone in game.
I’ve been playing PVP for about 2 weeks now and by the far the most annoying thing in PVP is these ball groups and their infinite healing.
I think you're right the Sundered status needs to be removed. I think also it should include the condition "Dealing Critical Damage with a Martial melee attack...", locking it to proc off melee only. It would reinstate the risk-reward idea you mentioned.
Tarnish is fun as. 3 months in and i will say building flame blossom and tarnish gank builds is peak mmo gaming. Fun levels off the charts.

I can't agree that Tarnished Nightmare is a problem. For one, no one can stop people from playing the way they play whether ranged or up close and personal. An increase in a cooldown from Tarnished Nightmare's 5 piece bonus is irrelevant too. At the end of the day, we don't know when the bonus is going to fire off anyway.
So there is two main issue with your objective with this video. The first problem is that the issue is created by PvP players that gatekeep setups that actually work. So when one finally comes out and it is very good, you better believe everybody will use it. The second reason is that without the tarnished set, PvP will just become a placed filled with people that love building tanks and having zero down sides to it. Do what you will with this feedback.
Ive never had an issue with Tarnished, even as solo or small scale grp (2-4). The biggest killer is being overwhelmed by sheer numbers or dying to really good players.

Tarnished needs a universal cool down. Meaning only 1 can hit you, PERIOD, every like 10 seconds. Not 6 at the same fkn time from 6 different losers.
BGs are 100% killing the game. Unkillable and create huge lag spikes.

Tarnished is annoying, but if you pair it with Anthelmir (the monster set) it becomes lethal at range. Even on my melee NB i am surprised how many times I actually end up killing players with ice heavies if both sets proc.

They ruined the game by getting rid of % chance off proc sets, in the past they all had an RNG chance to activate like between 6% and 25% chance to activate, and Zos made most procs instant procs and theres no surprise the game got considerably worse. Not to mention you can scale them up with stats too
% chance is part of the reason the servers were so bad back then. Unfortunately I don't think they'll make a return without ZOS investment in the servers.
@@awilddevereaux Which is funny because the servers needing investment is one of the major issues of the game and why people go procs. Skills may not activate or fire off with delay, but procs always work.
They did a server migration upgrade in 2023 and performance on all megaservers saw a massive upgrade. The issue is quite literally they refuse to continually invest in the servers.
I just started playing eso again, just earlier on xbox, is the first time i was in pvp for more then 10 minutes. and all i hear was glass smashing sounds the entire time i was in a fight. easily more then 5 people in the one fight on DC using it.
I have NEVER died from tarnished, it's been in my death recap doing around 3-4k damage but it isn't what kills me. vicious death and DC hit way harder. If a skill doing 4k damage is what's killing you then idk that sounds like a you problem 😅

This may be an unpopular take and feel free to have an opposing opinion, but I run Tarnished as part of my sets for my Arcanist and love it because Arcanist has next to zero burst DPS, it's consistent and cleave, but little to no burst while EVERY other class in the game has burst. So Tarnished gives me a little extra burst that I need. I'm no sweaty PvP player but this helps and in PvE content it's a wonderful addition to my cleave from the green beam and falil. So I'm sorry but not sorry this has not been nerfed. My class has been nerfed enough already,.. especially since removing my class execute skill!!

From my experience, really high crit resist builds seem to pretty effective against tarnished. Kinda like high fire resist builds is good against way of the fire.
As an average player, it doesn't bother me much. Even started using tarnished for first time recently.
To be honest, it seems to go in spurts. I encounter way of the fire way more. Though sometimes, I feel like I run into a lot of tarnished also.

before tarnished it was plague/dark convergence, before that it was a million werewolves running Alessian order etc etc. These scrubs will run to these sets quicker that it took you to be hit by tarnished! haha I still think the best time in cyrodiil was when we had no procs with CP as it took skill to play, groups needed healers and it felt really balanced. All the scrubs disappeared too!
I just came back to the game after a four year break. I've been playing on and off since launch. I'm looking at content online to get me up to date on the game and it looks like nothing has changed fundamentally. Same player complaints, same server issues. The only really change is the dwindling population of Cyrodiil. Unfortunately, I don't think ZOS will ever get the cat back in the bag.
I will add though that my first death back in Cyrodiil was getting deleted by someone running this set lol. I didn't even know what happened. Sounded like getting hit by a sorc but they were invisible.
i dont know about game these days, but back than 10y ago, bloodspawn op; as temp sitting in mana armor buff, every 15sec proc on bloodspawn basically made you OP additionally temp ult heal was lagg infected with not using; i could spam 8 ult heals vs 30 players attacking me not dying at all
There is a guild called "Carried by Tarnished" out there. It makes me laugh when I see it. And Tarnished gankers are just an annoyance. The D-Ring All Stars just love it too.
Remove sundered and give a sign when you get it on you so you can block the proc.
Tarnished is a really popular set, but I don't think it's good on anything besides crit NB. (Gankers included)
I've had tarnished tick for 2-4k when i'm playing a bomber build that has zero defense other than major resolve, and when wearing 5 light and 2 med, all divines, with no defensive cp? Not a big deal. When it's a full ganker build, it hurts a little more, but nothing I really tend to care about.
a slight nerf to tarnished would be great, it makes some builds far too strong but tank meta really needs to change. vamp nerf will help that, people won't be soo tanky and still be able to burst you to oblivion but more is needed.
The set is kind of fine for dmg it could be nerfed slightly there. It really needs a cooldown per target once hit though so you can only take damage/debuffs from it every 8 seconds. Imo being able to be hit with 3+ at the same time is what makes it so broken. I have a pov of 3 blades proccing it on me in about the same gcd, it's tryhard af but it's just a no brainer to stack a whole group with it at this point and potential eat half or more of their hit points instantly just for hitting them with a light attack then kill the next person with the next burst of ez procs

It was bad before but just in the last few days it's turned into like half all people are wearing this. Including groups of like 6+ NB just stealth killing people outside of keeps. As a solo, it's insane to deal with now. But hopefully it's so bad that it gets addressed soon.

The only nerf tarnished needs is it shouldn't proc from dots. I have no issue survivng tarnished gankers. It is always the zergs of tanky losers with saint and seducer and meta sorcs all ulti people on dark convergence procs.
I've yet to meet a nb that can beat me 3 out of 5 while running tarnished, vs my gourmand/clever/markyn/balorgh... but, they do get lucky, I can give them that.

I've been running Swift and Crit Riposte just to put up a fight with Nb's smh. I was running impen Briarheart armor with 30k resistance and was getting hit with 11k Tarnished from nb's smh. Most ults doesn't even hit that hard and take longer than 8 seconds to build up.
They need to make HoT’s of the same kind not stackable. No one should have 8 instances of healing from the same skill just because it came from different players. That’s insanity.
Im sad about Ravenwatch once they added proc all I see is tarnished I don’t PvP anymore I was being casual in the wrong meta
As a mag sorc main, I’m surprised more ppl aren’t complaining about sorc. Like are people really okay with me being this untouchable? Can’t remember the last time I died in a 1v1 or even a 1v2 in gh. Like damn I kinda miss having to worry about the whole death mechanic thing in PvP
as a sorc myself, but stam. i dont think it bothers anyone, cause anyone can spam a shield over and over. most of the time i just avoid yall cause its boring as fuck. having to be carried by living in a bubble, is sad and lame. spamming hardened ward doesnt make you good, it just proves the shield is good lol. literally anyone can be a shield humper

I agree and dissagree. I agree and belive Tarnished being used as a ranged proc makes it problematic... Even though the damage is easily mitigated by blocking or completely diminished by a dodge. I think if using a staff/bow the proc should be x2 amount of time for proc chance. I don't see melee being an issue, a dodge every 8-10s when actively focusing on an enemy in your face; to mitigate the damage and proc conditions isn't an issue

I switched to a tank build and now my goal is to help the dps who were unfortuante enough to get hit by tarnished, not mention dark convergence
Tarnished damage isn’t that bad. What’s bad is the guaranteed aoe Sundered proc. Plus I bet the AoE damage portion is scaling off single target damage like Azure Blight… I think there are other things that need adjusting more than Tarnished
Yes, I agree but Hybridisation + CC stacking is a lot worse.
I run tarnished with rally cry on my stam sorc. And I love it. Don't be butthurt, just learn to mitigate and overcome it.
every single dingleberry is wearing tarnished nightmare and its all you can hear in pvp. i dont have a problem with people using the set, i have a problem with the sound it makes.
So this stupid stuck in combat glitch if there is any PvP in your radius even if your not involved it slots you in combat. Cheesemonger is my go to. It’s the worst sound effect in your ear, and NB’S forget about it there running 6 NB grps and just mount ganking. Unlike Scav Maw you can dodge that. PvP has been TARNISHED no pun attended VD Dark Convergence and Tarnished before these sets we actually could PvP’

If you truly had no ego and wanted a true experience of what Sekeer is saying Ravenwatch or Imperial City no proc no go will make you be a skill player. There will always be over powered options in any pvp game mode. Destiny, call of duty, eso you name it.
I’ll take tarnished over the super tank meta though. Honestly there needs to be a lot of love put into pvp. I think if they put some more effort into it there would be less cheese. Wouldn’t eliminate all the cheese but would be less.
