Now that we configured PRTG, we're on to setting up SNMP sensors!
Awhile ago, I made a video on upgrading your bandwidth with ‪@PaesslerGmbH‬ 's PRTG.
I got so many comments asking about how to use it, that I decided to make a mini-series on how to get started with PRTG.
Thanks for watching, and as always, Keep IT Simple!

Fantastic explanation Jeremy... you are such a wonderful teacher. I've been your student since 2007 in cisco, bought your tutorial under CBT Nuggets that time. And now, I'm handling multiple network, servers, and cloud services so I decided to look for a network monitoring system and I found you again :)... Thank you teacher for all your hard work

I have been knee deep in PRTG and Netbrain setup for a bit now. These can be great tools and super powerful, but man they take quite a bit of customizing to get them the way you want them. Especially on a large environment of close to 1k devices. I just removed probably 15-20k unneeded sensors in the last couple weeks to keep the load lower on our servers
Great series though. Nice to see some things simplified to confirm or elaborate on things I am already messing with no direction.

Anyone figured out how to get traps working? I put in an snmp-trap receiver sensor and it shows empty messages and under version shows 4. What does the S in SNMP stand for again?

Your tutorial is really very helpful!! I would like to know which software you are using to manage the devices? Could you please name the tool from where you had enabled the SNMP in the devices...
