The insta death ability for the scripted one takes 2 characters 😭 ur gonna need 3 to survive
My guess is he will use Sampo for DoT damage (in addition to Black swan skill) to instantly revive Blazer-dono
But yeah he will need a 3rd one. It’s guaranteed to take blazer dono as he is the one that will attack maybe ??

So it’s truly over, solo character and one sacrifice isn’t enough. 3 characters counts as a party in many definitions of the world.

Something Unto Death is such a baffling design choice for a boss for this part of the story. Not because of an "instakill" mechanic, but because it's a party size check in the part of the story that you're supposed to be alone for. Up to this point you could beat everything in the story with a team composed of characters that are canonically there, but because of mechanics everything changes here.
if firefly becomes a playable character, adding her to the team and playing this fight in a later update could be considered 'canon'. You could stretch the "canonically there" definition and add black swan to the team (just doing nothing tho) because she's a memetic device that can go anywhere in a dream and was 'present' at the scene before making herself heard. You _maaaybe_ could add misha to the team too : )

It definitely is strange that they made the boss impossible to defeat the way it's canonically fought... it feels like they wanted a super cool and creepy boss to highlight the secret danger of Penacony, but didn't really consider the implications of its mechanics. It's disappointing, really, since the HSR devs are usually really on top of their game when it comes to canonicity in the story

I'm so glad you aren't giving up on this series! In the beginning I honestly thought you wouldn't make it and would go as far as to cancel the challenge. The long break you took because of the relics got me worried. When you were talking about how this is as far as you can go with a solo character, my heart almost stopped... And then it became clear you baited us all! I'm not even mad!

Penacony is really great just like what hoyoverse has confirmed before, which makes me feel extremely impressed both in terms of storyline and characters.
It feels like just repeat of Elysian realm arc from honkai impact 3rd
tho it traumatized me way too much, I dont think I'll ever step again in penacony and I'll probably stop playing the game too TwT

Also for everyone saying "you need to vring 3 characters", i doubt it. If he said all he needs is lvl1 sampo he probably already tested it. Ifni had to guess, having him on the team and using black Swans effect + maybe a ult if its possible you can break the other character before the boss locks uo the second one, or break the biss defense, or smth like that
8:44 I am 100% convinced that Firefly is Sam (or the person who controls the robot) but that doesn't make her an antagonist. I think the Stellaron Hunters have a similar role to the Fatui in Genshin. They may act as enemies in many places but aren't necessarily against us entirely.
We'll have to see! Though admittedly what I said about Firefly being the "main bad guy" was a jest, I do always keep one eye on those super friendly characters that pop outta nowhere. Them turning out to be the diabolical mastermind is among my favorite types of plot twists!
@@Moosashi Oh for sure. I do not trust a single character we have met in this game. I'm a bit suspicious even of the other nameless, with the exception of Welt because I know him from HI3rd. It's so much fun trying to figure out the mysteries of these complex worlds. Everyone and everything is hiding something.

The series demands 'Trailblazer Only', so even if you get stuck here due to only having one character, you can still bring in a second 'Trailblazer' a Friend's Trailblazer if you will. Even better if it's the female blazer im sure you can make a skit of that

The scripted attack of "something unto death" at the end of phase 1 is different from the normal one that players activate. The scripted attack, takes 2 characters at the same time. You need more than a level 1 sampo 😂

If firefly was a playable character (and you need 2 extra for something unto death) then a team of her and black swan with trailblazer would be very cool for going beyond this boss.

I just finished the quest and... I was instantly in love with firefly at first look, it being slowly a date and then making us love her even more ended up in me crying for 30 minutes at one point but then she actually got killed 2 hours later and it traumatized me, am still crying and I dong think I'll ever recover from it TwT
I think I'll go sleep at my gf place tomorrow so I can actually feel safe and not get another breakdown >w
