That was fascinating. I often wondered how bats gave birth upside down without gravity to help.
Joanne Gray .. And the baby compared to mom is about like a human baby, omg, can't EVEN imagine giving birth hanging by my toes!!!
It was amazing how she positioned her wing like a cradle for her baby 😊
So beautiful, I have a tear in my eye.
Baby doesn't seem to be in any hurry to come out. Mama is taking good care of it though.
YOU: I was in labor for 12 hours. It took two doctors, four nurses and a lot of drugs.
PENNY: Yeah? Well, I gave birth by myself, with no drugs - while hanging upside down!
Giving birth while upside down, hanging by one leg. Wow! 💕🦇💕
Amazing! Looks like a chihuahua with wings!
That is why some call them "sky puppies"
Absolutely beautiful!!! Yes I cried... birth is beautiful no matter if it's human or anything else, but it does help that I love bats!!! Lol 😍🦇😍🦇😍🦇
What a good mommy!
Awesome birth footage - thanks for sharing.
I love how the baby comes out with its ears over the eyes lol xx
These bat mothers take their maternal duties so seriously. I can't imagine giving birth upside down to a baby with wings.
Thats some fast clean up.
I adore that tiny twitter they give the second they're out!
So beautiful!
What incredible footage! Fabulous!! 🦇🦇🦇
Wow, this is fascinating
aweee my favorite bats!!!😍 this is soo sweet, I've always wanted to see them giving birth. She seemed like a really good momma bat. 🖤🦇🦇🦇🦇🖤

Ye and mum usually catches bub in her wings
Awesome 💖
Amazing!
Welcome to the world beautiful baby 💗
Awww❤❤❤❤❤
how does the mother bat avoid dropping her newborn?
Suzi B. they catch their babies in their wings.
I LOVE bats/flying foxes....there must be some around here in California...?? She seems like she's really giving her baby a good washing.
If the baby doesn't latch on to the mum with their "thumbs" the mum will try and hold the baby but sometimes the baby doesn't latch and falls off
Suzi B. I hear there are no flying foxes in Calif. But can't help wondering if they'd like it there.
she caught the baby in her wings. she kept cleaning his face so he could breathe? good mom!
Is this her first pup?
That was so beautiful 😍 😍

Good Mama
Aww
Interesting. What is the yellow liquid coming out of her near the end of the video? Yolk?
Ain't that something
👍👍👍
What was that on the baby?
Amniotic fluid.
How long does a flying fox labour take?
😍😍
Umm did the baby get hurt?
No, not at all. Mums usually catch them in their wings and bub makes it's way to her nipple whi9ch is located in the wing pit. Bub then spends most of it's time attached by it's teeth to the nipple and wraps it's feet across mum''s body.
How long before the babies can fly?
3-4 months before they can fly out with the rest of the gang.
What is that yellow stuff? On the baby?
That would be the amniotic fluid.
Are bat mother's usually happy about their babies I'm sure they can get aggressive while trying to protect their baby 💀💀💀
They are wonderful mums.
❤❤❤❤
All while hanging upside down - it's relative 😕

The most sickening thing I have ever seen
How is this sickening?
You are the 'sickening' one.
then you even didnt see peoples birth
Death can be sickening 😪
Birth never is,though it can be distressing if things go wrong.
I think you're not very good at understanding your own feelings/emotions
.????
can't watch. Congrats and cheers to the mum.
