He cuts straighter with a freehand chainsaw than I do using a tracksaw 😀. Seriously - this channel never ceases to amaze me. I'm no slouch, but I absolutely marvel at your talent.
May God Bless you too! I enjoy your thoughtful and engaging videos. Both you tutorials and the same content in ASMR/no talking are equally enjoyable for different reasons. No talking and no music is relaxing
Great job Bearded thanks for all the information and knowledge. Always enjoy watching a Master Carpenter at work. By the the way I like the new hat. God bless you and your family.
Howdy David- thank you so much. This area has been home for a lot of years. I come through Memphis last Saturday morning real early on the way back from Kentucky. God bless y’all
I really enjoyed this video my friend. Now that's some skill cutting that close to the strap without cutting it. Now that hoist is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
@@TheBeardedCarpenter Now winter si coming I will keep working with the logs. Thank you so much and keep on uploading videos, always a pleasure and great source of knowledge :)
The reason why I like being around Sawmills is because I love the smell of fresh-cut Lumber and I also love the way it looks when it's freshly cut I'm in Indiana we got a lot of beautiful hardwood over here we don't have much yellow pine we had what we call Indiana white pine it would take several years for it to dry out in order to be able to do something with it it's real sappy unless you know a trick if you do let me know I'm going to use one of them Alaskan chainsaws and tried to make me some Lumber God bless you sir and try to have a glorious Sunday
Howdy Eugene- I’m with you on the good smell around fresh cut lumber has. Most of what is cut around here is yellow pine. An Alaskan is great to have but slow go when milling. I’ve used mine a lot over the years and would never get rid of it. Take care and God bless y’all
I used large rock and logs to make the foundation for my garage. I had to terrace the land as I'm on a hillside and I used logs for the retaining wall on the high side, then stacked logs on the other side to bring the base/foundation up to level for the building to set. Worked perfectly. I definitely take all the information you give us to help with my projects
Howdy- thank you for sharing this with me. There’s always a way to get things done. Glad you’re getting some information from our videos. Take care and God bless y’all
It sure is an accomplishment when you tie it together with the header logs....where can I buy one of those precision chainsaws and the duct tape bandaids??? :) Lord continue to bless ye Bro. Paul....real good to see you
Howdy Brother Duke- I enjoy it when the headers go up. I have to keep duck tape and baling wire with me at all times. Never leave home without it lol. Hope y’all are doing well. Have a blessed weekend. God bless y’all
Hi Paul, as always it's nice to see you. Nice. Did you get a hammer on your left ring finger? (laugh). I'm sure someone like you doesn't even notice those little problems.. Have a holy Sunday. Give a hug to your family.
Howdy FD- thank you so much for the continued support. I sure appreciate it. I had a little cut on the end of my finger and didn’t want to make a mess on the log haha. I keep tape in my work truck for emergencies. May you have a blessed Sunday also my friend
Howdy Oliver- thank you so much for watching the video. I use a mix of 3 parts clean sand, 1/2 part Portland cement, 1/2 part masonry cement. I use a cement mortar dye for the color, which you would have to determine what color you would want. Hope this helps. I have a video that explains this. You can go back and watch it. Take care and God’s blessings to you
Howdy Louis- I have been so busy for several months that I haven’t had any time to do anything but work. Hopefully, I can get some time to look at it. Thank you so much for reminding me. God bless you
The guys up in Canada they are leaving the round side on the outside the rest of it is flat and they are notching the logs like Lego logs that looks pretty good I understand how they can judge how much is going to be staking on the outside that round on the outside of the wall on the ends to where it looks like the log is completely round which it actually is I've learned a lot here last year on some of this stuff that I had no idea
Howdy Eugene- there’s lots of ways to build a log cabin and people who build have their own way of doing things. There’s some really interesting cabins out there. God bless
There's only one other man that I know that can do what you do and he is gone now but he done it out of Poplar the way I got to know him I had a tractor that had Forks and it could raise pretty high I know the reason why it's taking you so long to do a video is because you have to wait for the plumber to be saw I worked in a sawmill for several years 25 to be exact I put in over 20 years and a circle sawmill and little over seven years and a bandsaw mill the bandsaw mill is nice all you have to do is light sand your Lumber and you're ready to go circle saw you had to run it through a planer that you're doing one hell of a bang-up job I like watching you do it it reminds me when I was younger and helping that other oh boy setting his up he made some really good money doing it but he's gone now God Rest his soul God willing you be doing this for a lot longer time God bless you and a terrific work do you do
Howdy Eugene- I sure appreciate you watching the videos and sharing this with me. The sawmill I get logs from had rather saw on the circle mill because of speed. I love to be around a sawmill and watch logs being sawn. God bless you
I've been watching these guys up in Canada that has been taking an axe and carving out their nachos and believe it or not they're getting it pretty close and they're putting moss on the outside and mud on the inside I don't mean concrete I mean actual mud they're taking one of these Alaskan sawmills that you use a chainsaw on and cut their Lumber out of Pine but the time has been down for at least a year or more it's taking this one guy almost five years to get everything gathered up to build hits and it looks really nice just thought I'd give you that little bit of information
These videos are just way to short. 18 minutes was more like 18 seconds. I and maybe others, would like to see tuning the corner. I watched one of your other videos where you used the small folding saw to bring the timber into control, I can't find that video again. Maybe, if you would not mind you could show and explain why it is required, how to do it and even show corners that do not need it and why as a comparison. Thanks for posting, be well, stay well.
Howdy Dinos- thank you so much for watching our videos. I agree with you that I need to do a video explaining how to fit the logs again. Take care and God bless
