This did not "change the course" of Eugene Levy's career. He's a solidly established veteran. This was a fun opportunity to bring his wisdom and VAST experience to a collaboration with his son. Do your research. There was life before you were born, believe it or not.
It maybe didn't change the course of his work, but I think it was a big part of career (not just because he was working with Daniel and Sarah). In this show, he was able to play the "straight, calm" character, while in many of his other shows, he played very off-beat, unique roles (His movies with Chris Guest, SCTV, Father of the Bride pt II, American Pie, Godspell). However, it's with Schitt's Creek that will go down as something very special, something that will be able to stand the test of time (and a piece of Apple Pie).
Yes, that was quite the surprise. But, tell me, how is she could perform a legal marriage? Did I miss something? Maybe it was symbolic, and the City Hall thing took place separately. But, Moira was also at Town Hall?
Loved that scene! Just recently learned a bit of history towards that scene on a Schitts Creek cast interview. A childhood friend of Dan used that same analogy when he came out to Dan. Dan loved it so much and wanted to implement it in the show. It's clever.
Their description literally says Daniel Levy is married to his wife of 43 years Deborah Devine. That's his mother clearly whoever wrote it hasn't a clue.
The funniest scene for me was David singing Tina Turner's "Simply the best". I laughed until I cried. He was so sincere in the delivery. I replayed this scene at least 10 time, each time laughing until I cried.. Thank you Daniel!

The entire exchange between Moira and the motel guest who left a bad review was my favourite television moment I’ve ever seen hahahaha “Are the pillows feather or foam?” “I don’t care” “I’m sorry?” “I don’t know. I’m not entirely versed on the contents of the motels pillow collection” “I was just asking” “And I’m very much looking forward to the moment when that stops”

The funniest scene for me was the town sign and Johnny trying to explain to Roland why it's a bit inappropriate - and then they attach a sign *to* the sign that says, "It's okay. It's his sister!"
I love the ingenious way that Moira speaks & Dan's facial expressions with under his breath murmured comments. There are so many funny moments & comments but those two are the best.
Actually, he was the one character that I thought was miscast. Yes, he was cringeworthy, but there was no depth/warmth to the character. Early on he was too over the top. And, based on interviews, he didn't even seem to connect like the rest of the cast did. Just my opinion, and perhaps most everyone else loved him.
@@nancyharris4913 I love Chris Elliott, but I do agree with you. He was fun to watch, but both he and Jocelyn were 'soft supporting characters'. Patrick quickly became an integral part of the core characters. The way he handled David was so ingenious: both kind hearted and humorous.
@@lucysmith6827 I'll agree with you both, but I have to disagree at the same time. Roland was definitely a cringeworthy character, and I think was meant to be. Chris Eliot is somewhat of a cringeworthy actor in the characters he chooses to play. It did seem in behind the scene video and interviews that Chris Elliott was often getting the cast into stitches, and that there was quite a bond there. I would've liked to have seen Abby Elliott as Alexis, just as a different perspective, and she is talented. Something else that is incorrect is Jocelyn. Yes, she didn't come on strong in the first season, very supporting; however, with each season, Jocelyn became more and more of a scene stealer. Jennifer Robertson was brilliant as Jocelyn.
@@danielalford8892 I think Chris is one of the best comedians to come out of SNL, and that era. His scenes on SC were funny, but I don't think they found a strong niche for him OR Jocelyn. They had strong moments, but if they weren't in an episode, it wouldn't be a loss. It's hard for me to say this because I really think he's brilliant, and even though I never saw Jennifer's work before, I enjoyed her work too.
That's what I'm saying! He has had a WHOLE career before this. Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind. He's been in over 100 projects. The man was part of the crew that made indie movies big in the 90's early 2000's. This did not make his career. He and Catherine O'Hara ARE the reason we started watching the show. Just disrespectful!! Sorry got heated, but I love me some Eugene and Catherine! They are one of the comedic greats of their time!

Yes, Goodwood - the town hall, restaurant, Bob's garage, the mayor's house & Rose Apothecary were filmed there. The vet's office is located in Stouville,
The one that had me laughing so hard I was crying, was the one where Johnny and Moira babysit little Roland, Jr. Makes me laugh still just thinking about it. Moira was such a hoot throughout the series. It's hard to pick a favorite!
When Moira emerged in the throes of her nervous breakdown sleeping on the floor of the closet with that spiked white wig all over her head, I slipped off my couch and rolled uncontrollably through my ENTIRE living room!!! Seriously. I DIED laughing.
Funniest moment for me would be when a person tries to rob rose apothecary and stevie and david are just helping him! Its so funny, I’ve literally watched atleast 10-15 times.
One of my fave scenes, is when Patrick is invited to the barbecue to celebrate David & Pat’s 4 month anniversary & Patrick’s fiancé drops by.. and there’s confusion & meltdowns David walks out.. Johnny looks up & says, “who’s that girl? I looked down at my plate for 2 seconds” I couldn’t stop laughing for the rest of the show 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Seriously. Everywhere he appears the name “the Great Eugene Levy” follows him and it sounds like this writer never even heard of him aside from a cursory Google skim 5 minutes before this was done.
Honestly, I can't pick one of anything that is the funniest. The show is so great and so funny and so fun I feel like they are all my friends. I am sad that is over. I think I will start from the beginning and watch it all again. The character development is just wonderful and you watch them become better people. If only everyone could just become better people. Congratulations to the entire Schitt'$ Creek family.
This was the best show I have seen since All Creatures Great & Small on PBS. I will miss all of these characters. Dan Levy is a genius writer and the actors/actresses are superb. I have loved Catherine & Eugene for years!💕
"Ewwwwwwwww " and "I hate you !" Oh and " Nobody cares David " Because you know it's pure love. I believe I was one of the very first viewers to totally fall in love with this show and each and every character.
Beyond Schitts Creek and SCTV, Eugene and Catherine have been in FOUR movies together. You can’t be a true Schitts Creek fan if you aren’t also a fan of the amazing repertory group Christopher Guest put together years and years ago!
They also worked together at the Second City Comedy Club Together, first with Catherine as a waitress, then moving her up to Gilda Radner's Understudy, and finally, she took over for Gilda when she went to SNL.
When David runs away, they eventually they find him. He’s in the field with the Amish girl and she says “there’s a bug on your dress” David jumps up, brushes it off and says “Ew! F@&K! Gets me every time!!!
Or when Johnny says something like “it’s customary for the Amish to treat guest to lunch” and the guy quickly and calmly responds “not always” lol it’s the subtle things haha.
Lol.. When I want to make my wife laugh out of sheer annoyance I'll do a little rendition of " A little Bit Alexis"...annnnd now its stuck in my head again.. DAMNNNNN SON
Funniest thing on the show is anytime Moira said “Dayveeddd” lol in the many different ways.. or when she would say “ what’s the word I’m looking for/what am I trying to say” lol, or “the bay bay”.. I have more
THE FUNNIEST MOMENT, OUT OF SO MANY, IS THE SCENE OF "BABY ON THE WAY ,RUSHING TO THE HOSPITAL IN THE LINCOLN, HER OWN AGENDA IS MOST IMPORTANT " HILLARIOUS!. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS SHOW TO LIFE! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ON THE NUMEROUS AWARDS GIVEN, THE ABILITY TO COLLABORATE WITH PERFECT COMEDIC GENIUS. PROVIDING LOVE, SHOWING HUMANITY IN REAL-TIME SITUATIONS THAT THIS WORLD NEEDS TO SEE MORE OF, LOVE, FREEDOM OF CHOICE AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALL! BRAVO!!
Two funniest moments for me were when the enormous painting of the family showed up and John would say “David”. Then Roland would offer a dollar amount to help. David would look at John with complete cluelessness, saying, “what?!” And then escalate from there.😂🤣 The other one- when Jon thought Alexis was pregnant and they are chatting about it- but Alexis is actually talking about school, “Well, if I don’t like it, I’ll just.. give it up.” And of course, EVERY time Moira screams in agony.🤣😂🤣😂
"David! quit acting like a disgruntled pelican", Jocelyn to David"You look like someone who had a difficult time in highschool" DAvid says"Thank you?" I howled - there are too many good quotes- Moira is just comedic gold. I can't say baby anymore- it has to be bebe.
I loved the 2nd episode in season 1 where Roland insisted the Rose family came to his house for dinner. When Moira asked him to sign the contract and he wanted her to slap him first, I died laughing once she finally did. Too funny! But a close 2nd was when Johnny and Moira went out for their anniversary. I loved the way Johnny put their uppity friends in their place. It was so touching that I fought back tears. That is the mark of a good tv show or movie...the ability to make you laugh as well as cry.
After one of my daughters cajoled me into watching this show I was less than impressed and reluctantly stuck with it to halfway through episode 3 and gave up. Several days later scrolling through Netflix I picked up on where I left off. So glad I did , the scene at the billboard Welcome to Schitt's Creek cracked me up and the rest is history. A very welcome belly laugh in these tough times.
One of MANY...Johnny running into the room, unable to catch his breath while everyone just stared at him. I had to go back and rewatch that a couple times. Some others, Roland Referring to Moira as Elvis. Roland and Johhny high as heck eating wings and Roland says a heartfelt message. Then whispers "Who said that?" 🤣😂 cracked me up!
I had never watched this show but I thought I’d give it a chance on Netflix and I binged the whole thing in three days and now I feel sad and empty because it’s over 😢
The funniest part of this show for me was when David got an "accidental" happy ending the morning of his wedding. Had me laughing harder than his morning glory 😂😂😂😂
Loved the shy awkward appearance of Stevie in “Cabaret”, when she literally blossomed into the stage character with such a display of confidence and joy that I clapped (well I’ve clapped several times)
"Chicago" He should have taken the time to check his script for mistakes. Why hasn't this been corrected? Didn't watch the show but, this performance of "Maybe This Time" is one the best things I've seen on TV in many years.

That ending one was even funnier.. lol
Gage cattoni just launched his utube funny and
Absolutely
One of my fave scenes, is when Patrick is invited to the barbecue to celebrate David & Pat’s 4 month anniversary & Patrick’s fiancé drops by.. and there’s confusion & meltdowns David walks out..
Johnny looks up & says, “who’s that girl? I looked down at my plate for 2 seconds”
I couldn’t stop laughing for the rest of the show 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Gage cattoni just launched a new utube series
A little bit Alexis .... one of my fave bits
You can actually get the ENTIRE song on iTunes! It’s hilarious! 😂
Lol..
When I want to make my wife laugh out of sheer annoyance I'll do a little rendition of " A little Bit Alexis"...annnnd now its stuck in my head again.. DAMNNNNN SON
@@b.r.h.1038 I just listened to it!!!!
Love it!!! Can't get enough!!
Funniest thing on the show is anytime Moira said “Dayveeddd” lol in the many different ways.. or when she would say “ what’s the word I’m looking for/what am I trying to say” lol, or “the bay bay”.. I have more

Alexeeeeesssss
Who’s here after finishing season 6 and watching the farewell special? I need more! I’m still crying.
Hands down, the funniest moment for me was when David and Moira were cooking and didn’t know how to fold in the cheese
Moira.....”I’m not above a naughty night of debauchery”. Loved that line!
BRAVO!!
LMAO IN THAT SCENE.!!
When Moira woke up on Rolands bed at RMKA! Hilarious!
Moira's reaction at the front desk when the weasel man guest came in😂
Two funniest moments for me were when the enormous painting of the family showed up and John would say “David”. Then Roland would offer a dollar amount to help. David would look at John with complete cluelessness, saying, “what?!” And then escalate from there.😂🤣
The other one- when Jon thought Alexis was pregnant and they are chatting about it- but Alexis is actually talking about school, “Well, if I don’t like it, I’ll just.. give it up.”
And of course, EVERY time Moira screams in agony.🤣😂🤣😂
Hahahaha! So true that scene with Alexis where he thought she was pregnant was genius hahahaha I laughed so hard hahahaha.
When Moira says "Johnny, the bebe could have crawling pneumonia" Thought I would die laughing. I almost didn't catch it.
"David! quit acting like a disgruntled pelican", Jocelyn to David"You look like someone who had a difficult time in highschool" DAvid says"Thank you?" I howled - there are too many good quotes- Moira is just comedic gold. I can't say baby anymore- it has to be bebe.
It was Cabaret not Chicago. The name of the episode is "Life Is A Cabaret."
David on car with Stevie, "Because I want those people to know I'm not a joke." What a scene. Superb.
Such a hilarious show! Can’t decide who is my favourite ....Moira or Alexis. Having said that, the entire casting was SPOT on.
Definitely one of the top 5 shows EVER on Netflix...and definitely the BEST in comedy ! 💥
Funniest-Alexis' hand gesture and pout.
And all her “eww David”.. I mock snobby acquaintance with that one often lol
Yes!
Boop!
Any scene Catherine is in is the funniest .. imho. Her audition for Jazzagals and singing Danny Boy at the funeral are 2 examples.
Eugene and Catherine were in SCTV and a series of brilliant Christopher Guest movies.
Best in Show, Looking For Guffman, etc. C’mon, people!!
Funniest definitely David with the Amish family
YES

I feel so dumb not recognizing Kathrine from home alone!!!!!
Don't worry, you're not alone! 😞
What?! She hasn't changed a bit!
Dude! What???
@@angelmichelle666 I'm alone right now. Home alone that is
I watched that entire series, & couldn't figure out where I recognized her from, lol😂
When David leaves voicemail for Patrick
“I’m sorry, I just called you David, you’re Patrick”
I had never watched this show but I thought I’d give it a chance on Netflix and I binged the whole thing in three days and now I feel sad and empty because it’s over 😢
Bob and his wife sitting in the cabin " oh, your done"
I loved it when Dave went with Roland shopping at the store in blouse barn
The funniest part of this show for me was when David got an "accidental" happy ending the morning of his wedding. Had me laughing harder than his morning glory 😂😂😂😂
Gage cattoni just launched his utube series show its very
Funniest segment was David playing baseball, priceless.
It seems like the writers and producers of this show did 0 research on Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy 😂
The crow scene at the premiere
Loved the shy awkward appearance of Stevie in “Cabaret”, when she literally blossomed into the stage character with such a display of confidence and joy that I clapped (well I’ve clapped several times)
"Chicago" He should have taken the time to check his script for mistakes. Why hasn't this been corrected? Didn't watch the show but, this performance of "Maybe This Time" is one the best things I've seen on TV in many years.

I will cry for five straight days too after watching the final episode. I love everything about this show.
