    I once watched a dining etiquette video that was unwittingly funny. In a very serious tone, it advised "Never wear a strapless gown to a formal dinner. Behind a centerpiece, you will appear to be naked."

      Lol. Well... true. I once wore a strapless summer top to get my driver's license retaken. I looked naked in the photo. Ughhh. Love it when you have to show these horrible photos to everyone.... so humbling😅

    I think this is my very first youtube video comment, but I wanted to let you know how much I value this kind of content. While a lot of fashion content creators show us specific pieces to purchase now, I love how you use your platform to guide us in using what we already have, and also how to create a template for putting together an outfit. I don't have to own the exact pieces you show us, I just need to know the formula for creating the silhouettes, and the tension, and the textures. So thank you for sharing your knowledge and fashion intuition!

    Another great example of curating timeless but also fun pieces that aren’t holiday season specific. I went to a Christmas party on Saturday night, it was so easy to create an outfit using the tools I’ve learned from you!

    I really appreciate how you demonstrate outfits with what you have. Even though your body is so slender, you do it graciously enough that I can look at my plus sized body and try your concepts on me. In fact this year for my husband's Christmas banquet I was trying to figure out what to wear and my daughter (who follows you as well) just said let's shop your closet Mom. So we did and came up with a great outfit! Thanks Alyssa!

    Thank you. It's always good to style what we already have. I'm singing a lot more this Christmas than in the past few years, so I listed out possible options for outfits before the start of December. I had to factor in the English weather and some cold Medieval churches 🥶.

    Your videos encouraging us to restyle our existing clothes instead of purchasing new have inspired me in areas outside of clothing. I’m throwing a Christmas party where I will need centerpieces for multiple tables. Due to your influence, instead of buying new centerpieces, I looked at what I already have, added a dose of creativity and, voilà, I have really cute centerpieces. Thank you!

      @@AlyssaBeltempo On the grandparents/aunts/uncles table, I’m using greenery and wine glasses of various sizes and shapes, including stemless. I’ve filled some with small gold ornaments of varying shapes and textures. Others I have filled with white and silver ornaments with different shapes and textures. I also have tea lights in some.
      I’m having to get a bit more crafty for the cousins table. Last year we all made snowmen using white gym socks filled with rice and topped with hats and sweaters made from Christmas socks (there are several example on RUclips). I have a lot of mini pom-poms leftover from that activity that I’m using to decorate candle holders for LED candles that I already have. BTW, doing a simple craft as a family was super popular last year and gave everyone a keepsake to remember the party. 🎉 This year we’ll be making snow globes.

    Don’t have a slip skirt, off-shoulder or strapless tops, metallic pants, stilettos, or figure-hugging dress - and if I did, wouldn’t have anyplace to wear them! But it’s fun to see how ‘the other half’ dress up!

    Great you can upstyle things already in our wardrobe and true that flashy pieces are too recognizable yeae to year. Thanks for teaching us slow fashion. I must say your hair pulled back most definitely contributes to a more formal upscale look. Keep teaching us to use what we have and nor waste monet always buying new atyff.

    These were exactly what I like to see, which includes many different styles, fabrics and colors. I love the French style too. Your velveteen jacket with the camisole that you're wearing looks great on you. I 've researched the internet for lacy camisoles to dress up a blazer but with no luck.

    Love this! I have good (not great) basics and see how to use what I have. I also see how a few items would really make dressing for special occasions easier. A slip skirt is first on my list. I also loved that I picked the right purse for the dress 😉🙄

    This is so useful! I have a ton of skirts that I could potentially wear outside but realistically I only wear them for holiday themed events and it’s great to see some options of how to give them a new look in a new outfit. Also, last year I bought a gorgeous pair of brown boots for autumn outfits but now I’m wondering if I couldn’t wear them for winter as well, since I don’t have long black boots. I know winter and especially Christmas is more black-white-red-green-blue but since I hardly wear the brown one too it seems unjustified to buy a black one as well just for literally two holiday outfits. If you could give me some advice about how to style them so they’re less falling leaves and more mistletoe vibe, I could really appreciate it. Grazie mille 😊

    I've just been thinking about what to wear to my company holiday party. I have a few options, one of which is this pair of like velvet-y kinda black flowy trousers, they do have a bit of sheen to them, which I'm not normally into, but the flowy siluette kinda makes them a little bit more casual-looking. And I was just thinking of pairing them with this black-and-white striped top I have. it's not off-the-shoulder. instead it has these poofy sleeves, but it's a very similar formular :D

    Hi, I have a minimal wardrobe, i do not buy a lot of bags/purses. sometimes i wonder how to keep your bags looking good for a long time. When there are very tiny wear and tear, what do you do? How do take care of your vintage bags?

    • @umyumlum47
      @umyumlum47 9 месяцев назад +2

      If they are leather, you can treat them with products to keep them supple. You can ask at a cobbler what products they recommend for your particular bag, as it will depend on the color and finish and type of wear. A cobbler can also do restoration and repair work for you to make them look fresh again.
