What a great year 🎉
This was my first Phish show! Can't believe you picked it. Started blowing up right when the Llama drums started. By the time YEM was over, I was beyond hooked for life. And shout out to Chris Kuroda. The lights helped transport me to Phish land. Thanks for picking this show from the vault. And thanks for all of your reviews. BOOM

That run was fun, but 10/4/99 was THE show of that Midwest run.

Man, not unlike your recent Alpine 99 recap, this one takes me back. This was my second fall tour and one of my personal favorite shows from that year at that.

This show was fire on an underrated fall tour..had a lot of fun on this night and many others on that tour.
Just saw 1 show in 99 Bosie it was out of this world.
That Boise show was a really good one

Edit: Or Shoreline earlier in September when OYWD was busted out after the 10 year gap for sure. Incredible Misty Mountain Hop encore that one, then the next night with Phil Lesh...I wish I could remember the year better, I know I did end up at Big Cypress 🤪
1999 tone it is the best year for a reason Trey described it as a great wave from 1995 when he was born to 1999 when the wave crashed into 2000 and the Here Comes the Sun rising Beatles Cry Baby Cry and Sea and Sand Albuquerque Mellow Mood and It Aint Easy Golden Lady so many covers I would love to hear again but may never they are doing Sand and Carini on repeat these days like 30 songs they love to play and just tossing the covers and rarities into the trash No heavy rotation like 2003 I miss shows like 7 29 30 2003
the 7-30-03 On Your Way Down is played to perfection at the time I did not know like 6 of the songs in the first set it was boring to me dare I say in person but now it is one of my all time favorite shows strange design how opinions change over time when you dont know the songs like Spocks Brain i then hated but now love I did not know SASS yet and it is perhaps the best ever I did not know OYWDown The best guitar solo FEFU since 1992 when they played it w passion And a 4 song set 2 that was one hell of a show even w the Secret Smile 3 minute encore which I hated at the time but now I love
Hey man would ever consider doing more rankings? Like ranking Phish DVDs, ranking festivals, box sets(at the Roxy), ranking albums? I know lists suck to make but they really seem to draw people in, I know I’d tune in
I did a lot of those last summer. My favorite Fests, Halloween, Closers etc. I might do more in the future
@@FZappa20 excellent, I’ll check ‘em out. I was just listening to Clifford Ball and started thinking about the other DVD shows and if Clifford Ball was indeed the best one…IMO it is, but I’d be curious to hear your opinion on the matter some day
@@domcagney2352 That is my favorite festival, probably because of the DVD release. I thought I did a video on the DVD box set but I can not find it on my channel. I will do a video about that DVD set if not all of them

Like w this one they say PIPER and SOAM are the only Jam worthy songs but I disagree That Roggae Tweezer On Your Way Down and YEM are all amazing Coil is one of my personal favs but I cant give it the extra sauce jam worthy on this one because the band stuck around w Page for Loving Cup that is Chomper town sacrilegious love to the rolling stones one of those bands I just hate and love to shit in that cup w 2 girls eating one cup of shit
1999 and 2000 was Pipers year even the 8-12-2004 Piper is better than Pipers of 3 and 4.0 for the most part the last 2 set show or so i thought was great too but Piper was 12 short minutes but a great what I thought would be my last Glowstick war in Camden because I could not make it to Vermont thank you Jesus in retrospect I missed nothing entranced nothing ensconced nothing entangled TWISTed or wrenched
