I am waiting on the “oh f**k it, let’s just get drunk” Trenny and C episode.

Trenny and C great! I thought maybe that’s where this one was going when I saw the beer come out during a whisky review.

Guys, Good comparison show. I haven't tried any of the Glenlivets yet. Really enjoy some of the other Glens = Glendronach 12 ($60), Glenmorangie ($35 for Original to 55 for QR 14 yr) and Glenfarclas 12 ($47). They sure have lots-O-glens over there. Hope you had a great Canada Day earlier (poutine? Tim Hortons donuts?) and we are enjoying grilled meats on the 4th. Cheers!

They're both good scotch whiskey and the price is fairly easy on the wallet at 25.00 and 35.00 USD around here while on sale

If I was looking for a Glenlivet I'd grab the 12... The founder's was a disappointment, and I had a taste of the Captain's at the whisky festival in Duncan to my continued disappointment... I might try some Nadurra again some day.

The 15y.o. French is also good and goes on sale regularly.

The best running gag going is Trenny smoothly pouring himself a bit extra.

It’s about damn time somebody mentioned that! When I bring it up he just denies it. -C

The more I hear these reviewed, the less likely I am to pick them up. Maybe on a massive sale .... thanks for your thoughts!

I don't where you two live but I can get the Arran 100 for CAN$55 and that the same price as the Founder's Reserve and it blows it away.

I personally really like Glenlivet, but the Founders Reserve is a dissapointment to me. Much rather have the 12 or 12 first fill that are nearly as expensive. Yet to try the Captains Reserve though, but this makes me decide not to get a bottle. Cheers

No question, It's the 12 year old in that price range. The Captain and Founders Reserves are $19.99 bottles. LOL

I've got the Glenlivet 12, 15 (French Oak) and the 18. 12 and 18 year old are excellent whiskies but I was disappointed with the 15yo. Such is life.
BTW C, you'll never be a respected whiskey reviewer until you grow a proper beard.

I've tried to grow the beard many times, but it starts getting itchy and I start looking prepubescent!

Avoid the Founder's Reserve and buy the 12-year-old. I suspect the same thing for Captain's Reserve vs the 15-year-old French Cask.

Yes, Glenlivit 15 is far superior to all of these. I don’t think $75 bucks is “cheap.” Several excellent Scotches in that price range, like Aberlour for example. But now I know how to talk snooty about Scotch, so there’s that. Got my wife laughing.
