I was familiar with it because of Toyopet Outdoor World and looking up what other stuff Toyota put out on the 3DO. (for music reasons) I'm obsessed with some of the music featured in Toyopet, music that hasn't been tracked down/found ouside of this sadly, especially the paraglider song, extremely catchy! Never thought I'd ever naturally would get a chance to bring this up lol
"Welcome everyone! I'm Alfred Hitchcock." "Today, I have a certain challenge to present to you." "No, no, it is truly simple." "Flip over the 12 panels to make matches, it's a card matching game!" "However, this time there will be a special time limit, so you may find yourself rushing a bit." "Now, are you all ready?" "Then let's get started." "Now, let's start the game!" "Too bad, that's incorrect!" "A medicine bottle." "Oh, that's correct!" "A magnifying glass." "Oh, that's correct!" "A pair of glasses." "Oh, that's correct!" "A notebook." "Oh, that's correct!" "A mirror." "Oh, that's correct!" "A pocket watch." "Oh, that's correct!" "Congratulations! You wonderfully revealed all the panels within the time limit!" "You truly are a king of revelation!"
I understood everything right and clear right up until the very end, and i"m still not sure. I can hear the 託, but in that context it wouldn't mean revelation since he doesn't say 神託, and even if he did it would be a misuse of the word since it carries a biblical connotation. I just can't make it out. The only thing I can hear is 速卓王
That translation is wrong this is what he’s actually saying. “Oh! hi, didn’t see you there, I'm Alfred Hitchcock." "What are you doing in my house! Well, never mind that, I have a certain challenge to present to you." "It’ll be the hardest thing you’ve ever done in your life!" "Flip over the 12 panels to make matches, it's a card matching game!" "However, this time there will be a special time limit, if you don’t complete it before the time is up I’m afraid I’m going to have to take your life." "Now, are you all ready?" "Then let's get started." "There is no turning back now!" "Too bad, this is not looking good for you!" "My special night, night drink." "Oh, that's correct!" "I use this to torture little defenseless ants." "Oh, that's correct!" "Those are for my Dr.Eggman cosplay." "Oh, that's correct!" "That’s my diary, don’t you dare take a peek!" "Oh, that's correct!" "I think this mirror is defective I can’t see myself." "Oh, that's correct!" "Time is almost up for you!" "Oh, that's correct!" "Congratulations! You wonderfully revealed all the panels within the time limit!" "Now you will take my place in this game as Alfred Hitchcock!"
I remember one spring morning, as the Sakura petals flew through the sky when I saw Hitchcock sensei late for his work, running down the alley with a jam toast in his lips.
I'm such a fan of this "Death Crimson-core" presentation; the clashing gradients, serif fonts, the bit-crushed audio samples. JP 3DO and Saturn games were such a blender of amateur digital graphic design aesthetics.
This game was ahead of it's time. These days, you get a matching item game like this on steam, and it's usually some generic hentai, not the highly sexual energy of Hitchcock.
Really happy to see somebody in this era showcase Alfred Hitchock Presents on ThreeDO, it took many years for the CD Soundtrack to be archived and from a difficulty standpoint it is flat~out incredible as to how strict the player has to be on Hard Mode to get the Match Game correct; it is an honest shame that more wasn't done for this product in the region, especially considering that Alfred does have a respectable following throughout Japan, we know that Toyota produced this as part of a marketing campaign back in I993 but it would be welcoming for him to finally get proper video game adaptations that truly flush out his Scripted Thrillers and Feature Films (I personally want to deliver AAA Game adaptations of at least Psycho, Rear Window, The Birds, Marnie, and the original Mr. & Mrs. Smith, produced on the same engine and all released at the same time), there is a genuine necessity to keep his older works in the spotlight and with all Ten seasons of AHP presently in Syndication delivering the video game treatment to his catalogue would be an ideal time to help younger viewers get a better interpretation of his works in ways that were once unforeseen. (:
He’s got a hitch on his… he’s got a hitch on his. You know. Thank you for continually sharing probably some of the most obscure, arcane, and interesting / bizarre lost games. Hope all is well.
This is a weird overlap of my interests because I want to know what formalities the Japanese translation of Psycho uses at certain points, especially how they dealt with Norman's speech. But Toyota Hitchcocku is good too
this threw me off so much. ive been living in japan almost a decade, and i look up stuff like this all the time. but DING DONG uploadong it was wild lmao
this is something only DD and three people in Japan have knowledge of

many such cases
yeah and now so do we. cruel world isn’t it
I knew about this from obsessively reading Backloggd lists.

He didnt say that

Oh my god
@@MatrixEvolution17if k had to take a wild guess that means “i am Alfred Hitchcock.” Not sure about the honorific though.
@Floridamangaming729 it means "to be"
Love how the timer keeps counting down during the fmv sequences, very cool.
Wait a minute. He just barely made it in time guessing them all the first time, is it a memory game or are you supposed to know somehow what matches?
Classic Japanese jank
Criminal game design
Alfred shows no mercy
I remember one spring morning, as the Sakura petals flew through the sky when I saw Hitchcock sensei late for his work, running down the alley with a jam toast in his lips.
Did he meet his destined one?
He got rabies from a squirrel, and died of a broken kokoro not much long after that
@@RickyRiceB I understood that reference
You couldn’t afford to mess up twice with that time limit, this Japanese Toyota backed Alfred Hitchcock picture match game is too demanding.
All according to his specifications
I can't believe they got the original VA from the "Alfred No Densetsu" OVA
Oohhh sekai desu!!! - Alfred Hitchcock
I love solving Hitchcock's wonderful Panels
I'm such a fan of this "Death Crimson-core" presentation; the clashing gradients, serif fonts, the bit-crushed audio samples. JP 3DO and Saturn games were such a blender of amateur digital graphic design aesthetics.
I was actually thinking as I was watching this "This either was for the 3DO or the Saturn"
Did you mean to say blender or was that like a Freudian slip or auto correct?
The english Alfred Hitchcock dub was always inferior. I’m glad someone uploaded the original audio👍
Dingdong is very powerful, pulling this out of the couch cushion of existence.
Ah yes, "Que Sera", Hitchcock's iconic theme
You joke, but the song was literally written for his remake of The Man Who Knew Too Much. Doris Day performs it in the movie 🤓
You are my number one source for weird/obscure media.
Thank you Toyota very cool
Alfred Hitchcock is up there with Kojima and Suda51 as my favorite Japanese game designer.
I know a lot of critics bash Hitchcock's later works, but I still think he was an underappreciated genius.
Just realized that this tickles, the tomodachi life part of my brain especially with the little hitchcock in the corner like a Mii.
Never knew he spoke Japanese
ディンドン、君が大好きだ。君の面白い脳も。君が過去に同輩からひどい扱いを受けたのは残念だ。君が死んだら、いつ死ぬかではなく、死ぬなら、君の脳を研究して世界を1%面白くするべきだ。
Palabras con mucha sabiduría.
Ding dong’s species actually has three brains. And they aren’t called brains, they’re called flibbledy doos. Or, excuse me, フリブルディーデゥーズ
Hitchcock sang the song in the background when Homer forced him out of his bomb shelter to face Bart's Comet, very good reference on Toyota's part
I love when Hitchcock-sama says “desu”, he’s a horror film legend and still stays polite and humble. What a guy, that Hitchcock.
I like that the thumbnail reads "Hitchcock no Densetsu" lol
Oh my LORD the timer still going down while the animations are playing is KILLING ME 🤣🤣🤣
So glad that Alfred Hitchcock respects the medium of video games to put his likeness in one
What makes this funnier is that whoever is playing clearly has knowledge on how the puzzles are seeded and can tell based on two tiles.
I love that we're in this era of video editing where i cannot tell if this is an elaborate shitpost or a real game 😅
It's somehow completely real
Wow there's like no room for error in that game.
No no, there's room. For one.
two uploads across two days, truly dingdong has blessed us with remarkable vintage gamestank
Hearing Alfred-san say "omedetou!!" really brightened my day and lifted my spirits
He looks like he genuinely could be japanese in this video and that fascinates me.
I love the timer running down as it's showing you the item.
Dad... Am I having another fever dream?
no, its a 3do game that came out in 1994
I can't believe he learned how to manipulate his voice and speak Japanese, just to further spite the sponsors of his TV program.
I was so stressed you weren't going to make it in time
Ah yes, the classic Alfred Hitchcock voice
I love Japanese All-Purpose Old Man Voice
thank you for taking up the classics of game mantle dingus
The new pachinko machines are getting more creative!
Thank Christ you were able to help Hitchcock out of that one
When the Toyota logo popped up I read it in the Yoshi’s Island intro “Nintendo” voice

Man I was not prepared for where this went
I needed this video this morning. Genuinely
I love all of Dingus’ strange oddity content and findings. It’s sub-enrichment but makes life extra tasty. Thank you DD, very cool 👍
Listening to the dub voice-over got me thinking, man, what if Hitchcock actually narrated over a 90s Japanese computer game
thank you Ding Dong, very cool.
Pizza Deluxe is peak

This is like "what's Dylan grillin'?" but even more niche
Finallly, they found the obscure Alfred Hitchcock themed Minigame collection for the ps1.
The return of the king
Geoff is putting this on the game awards nominees list as we speak
hitchikokku-san is very polite!
Finally, Hitchcock and Ding Dong collaborate for once
North by Northwest basically has the plot of an anime.
I can't believe Alfred Hitchock spoke fluent japanese
Happy that the butler from Batman got his own video game.
this makes me proud to drive a toyota
I feel compelled to politley clap at the end of this.
And that's how Dingdong achieved the life time high score speed run

I don’t know why. I’m glad this is here.
Japanese 3DO games are a gem
now this shit is high brow
Bounced on my boy's Hitchcock to this for hours.
It's funny because homosexuality is deviant and gross
This isn't real. There's no way this isn't some made up game that DD just threw together as a shitpost
alfred hitchcock is my favorite anime
I love you, Dang Ding
I don't understand it, but I am strangely enchanted by this man.
Today I learned magnifiers are called “bug-glasses” in Japan 🔎
Hitchcock Speedrun Any%
I genuinely want that soundtrack, though.

I didn’t know Hitchcock was cool like that

He's so kawaii
Vertigo is my favorite anime
pretty revolutionary
"Sorry, I don't speak Italian."
ive been waiting for a buster keaton dlc
I assumed it was going to be some kind of Japanese dub of a Hitchcock film. This is a Classic of Game to me.
ding dong's filling the void classicsofgame left with these uploads
Nice speedrun! Too bad you had a blunder at the start of the matching puzzle. Hopefully you'll PB next run
Hitchcock has done it again. Bravo.
This can t be be real. You made this up
Now all we need is Rod Serling in Swahili and then the prophecy will be complete!
The voice is so good
This tops the Tommy Lee Jones coffee ads
A lot of things are called “sekai desu”
1:22 is this the same sound effect that you can hear in sega saturn’s OS? Slightly higher pitched though
すごいですね。
Oh my, this is wonderful!
HITOCOCK SAN!
Do NOT remove hitch from Hitchcock
that’s not Hitchcock’s real voice for anyone wondering
