Here’s a look at the operation involved in processing our meatbirds and how we wrap them up to last for years.
We mentioned EPA, FDA, and FJB and wondered if the big military helicopter is a coincidence?
How can you not be impressed with these wonderful young Ladies, processing the years food. There are some men I know who would not do this and watching social media most of the young people I see would not go near a live chicken let alone help with the work. God bless you all
Looks like work, but great to see the whole family pitching in. How long did it take to process all the birds?
Yesterday was only a test run with the custom plucker build so we did roughly 20. But now that everything is set up we’ll do 30 or so in a few hours. If we invite people over to help we can go much faster. But we try not to make processing a long winded day so we don’t dread it every year.
Man this great...love how the girls ain't grossed out doing this and are learning the importance of surviving without relying on our useless gov't. Such a shame screwtube would frown on showing the whole process that could help people out. I like that chicken tumbler! You guys are just awesome to watch and the parenting is top notch in my book! Take care! fjb 100%
Thanks!
That thumbnail at the beginning of the vid is HILARIOUS!!!!
I only wish growing up that we had a chicken plucker, love watching people raise there own food brother, thanks for sharing
It is such a great invention!
When I was growing up on the farm in the 70's my family had a chicken plucker. Me!
Love what you are doing. As a child I remember processing our chickens on our farm for our consumption. Watching them run around headless was entertaining for all of us but we also knew we would be eating these birds, it was just a way of life. We had cows and we utilized them for milk and meat, We grew corn for feeding those animals. We had chickens for eggs and meat. It was just a way of life. We had a large garden. Potatoes were a big thing for us on our farm for our personal use. We had a large raspberry and strawberry patch, my dad would load all the raspberries and strawberries we would pick into the back of our pickup and take them to the local town to sell. It was a way of life that I miss 50 years ago. God bless you and your family.
Sounds like you had a good childhood! God bless you and your family as well! Take care
I have to say it is wonderful with you dropping videos every day or 2 or 3 or 5, It's like you found your own space to edit, Awesome!
The new offgrid editing space definitely helps!
Don't laugh about the military coming for you. Soon they will be telling you how many chickens you can have. How many goats, sheep or cows. How big a garden you can have. It's already here in some places.
🤣🤣what an awesome thumbnail intro
😝
How have you been? When you coming up to the UP?
@@9252LIFE I’ve been doing pretty good . Looks like you guys are doing it right up there . I’m actually heading up Thursday. Doing a little whitewater kayaking trip to peirs gorge and a couple other rivers over there .
How about you? Are the salmon in yet?
@@blackspruce1861 sounds like fun! Enjoy the weather while it’s still warm!
So Mom was squirting the stupid chickens to keep them from becoming failed Phoenixs? The only thing that rises from a flaming chicken is barbeque...
That’s right! 😂
😂
:54 "Performing quite well." I would say eggcellently!!!
Trumps helichoper!.... your gurls are awesome!... good job everyone!
Thanks! Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!
@@9252LIFE 400 forest fires in my Province of British Columbia.... i'm on Vancouver Island
KFC and Churches must be jealous😸 Tyson and all those guys and gals.
The main one you missed is K.F.C. profit margins , you know.
you forgot p.e.t.a. lol and the chickens eating their buddies stuff is natural if they are free ranging hugsssss
I've done it, it's a lot of work, but in the end it's nice to know how pure your food is. Nicely done!
I just got just one more thing to say, your family is growing. The girls are growing. It is all beautiful. Stay healthy, stay organic, and keep life really awesome.
I’ve been sick for many years(yes Long haul/blown out lower back)but hopefully in the very near future (i’m healed, just need to gain more strength) I’m going out into the sticks to do the same. That was the plan in in dec. 2019 and I still have equipment in storage just gotta find the land.
Start exercising and build that strength! Fastest way to heal!
On a tiny phone screen CHILDREN looks a lot like CHICKEN haha
He's raised a lot of good chicks for sure, which is why he is so hen pecked! Mrs Chick kicks his ass to keep things in tip top condition. 💪🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔 😁
7:50 Police were heard saying, "We still haven't figured out which one of these girls MURDERED all these chickens?!?!?!" No charges have been filed (because local law enforcement also can't spell....)
Yes! Her name is not spelled anywhere near close to how I thought it was spelled🤔
😏😏😏
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Whole family together processing food
Great job on repairing the chicken plucker. I didn’t think it would work. I’m surprised that the boys are riding their bikes up and down the road trying to show off for these beautiful girls. You have your not little no more The farm is coming along nicely love the videos keep them coming
Thanks Randy! Why didn’t you think the plucker wouldn’t work? I had my doubts too 😆
Chad leave a couple out and BBQ them yard birds for dinner fire should be about perfect by now😁👍😛
After processing a bunch of birds it’s hard to toss em on the dinner plate right away. 😆 Fish is ok and venison but chicken has to wait a couple days.. 😝
Oh they probably did that with the one that cooked before It got plucked😂
😂i get it Chad👍✌
@@9252LIFE Why chicken has to wait a couple of days? Lots of times we cook chickens right after plucking and gutting and didn’t see a problem with that. Also, our ancestors cooked right away before the invention of refrigerator.
I admire the skills you teach your daughters. Not many children are this lucky.
Good to hear! Thank you
Free range chicken should taste pretty good and pretty healthy!
Oh most definitely
you are spoiling us now with the videos 😅
Thank you tylynn for your flexing,I have been missing that. I am ready for chicklin dumplings chad, the girls did hard work, poor tyliea getting all bloody
Helicopters have been busy in this part of the mid-west too. It's harvest time for adventurous entrepreneur/gardeners, who may not have paid all the licensing tariffs.
luck and hug all
1st time I saw your channel, your girls had to shoot targets with shotguns to earn allowance. I was so impressed that 1st day, I subscribed and been watching ever since. They will be the ones to call on if the EPB, TSB, CtA, FDA and other letters of the alphabet all come at you! Save the chicken blood for when those alphabet men come after you all, then let Talia run out of the woods laughing, covered with chicken blood and a hatchet, and the other girls all carrying shotguns, you won't be bothered again for quite a while. They all seem quite adjusted...at least until you mess with Mama/Daddy or their siblings or pets. You know this is how most horror/survival movies start, right?
😂 sounds like a plan! Wait?? That was our plan! 😂
Looks like some good old family fun! The girls are growing up fast, Thanks for sharing the adventure!
This brought back memories of my childhood in the 60's. Fresh chicken . You can't beat the taste . This Store bough chicken taste's like cardboard these days. I agree the government needs to keep it's nose out of people's business. They allow all these chemicals in our food, that other Country's ban. Just isn't right. All my best.
A suggestion would be a chamber sealer which could vacuum seal the whole birds and you don't have to use the expensive food saver bags. You get much thicker bags that way for a cheaper price.
😂chickens almost looking forward to jump in the spinner wheel
I tell you sir, only the best comes out of your homestead in the infamous Upper Peninsula, Mi. Thank you and your team of super Women, better than Texas 😱😎
Thank you Patrick!
Teamwork... pretty nice yield all the way around there Chad.

you have 4 beautiful daughter who know how to do what everyone needs to know , and when old enough to become wives and moms. not spoiled entitled brats like we see so often
Looking great. And being ex military we don't go running after chicken farmers. lol Take care.
😂 clickbait!
Yeah but you weren't in the military during this current "administration"! Just saying!
The family that plucks together stays together😊
😂
I love the giving the grief to the alphabet soup of government agencies that tell us what & how to prepare what we eat, yet fail to tell us that they allow it to be laced with chemicals. How many thousands of years have we existed before the fda? Thank you.
Exactly
I would actually love to see you do that on a wood cutting board, anything plastic promotes the growth of bacteria. I would rather see you go back to old school and use wood cutting boards. Look up the University Wisconsin study from I’m gonna say the mid 90s it was like the first one wood versus plastic. I don’t remember the exact year, but the wood outperformed the plastic like the wood had Hundreds of ppb and the plastic had thousands of parts per billion of bacteria.
great job all now you work but during the winter you will all eat great hugssssss
Thank you Tammy

We just love your family. Wish you would post more videos ❤
Now that there is a chicken sandwich...move over chick fillet
😂
great video , i remember plucking, it was not a fun job
Thank you. It’s easy this way but by hand is not fun
Wax on....wax off.....breathe in....breathe out....lol.
don't forget peta
Wow fancy. We used to do this when I was a kid..nice fat chickens
Good job ,thanks for sharing, God bless !
Hello from Gatlinburg Tennessee... 😩 So many 🐣🐣🐣🐣 chickens, so little time! Good work y'all guys and girls.....
Hi Michael! Hope it’s not still too hot down your way! Take care!
@@9252LIFE Thank you, btw just love your family...... Yes it's been pretty hot, we have had a few crazy rain & thunder, lightning storms the past few weeks, they brought cooler weather with nice sleeping weather..... oxxox
❤
Love your videos guys, they are so funny at times,
How old were the chickens you were processing?
Right around 3.5-4 months old. We start processing our birds as soon as the roosters start being able to use their voice box.
Loved it! ❤
Saw those same helicopters yesterday! 🥸
Gory mess just in time for Halloween!
Looks like your rigged motor worked fine! Glad to see the family working together as always! And that chicken was just trying to free her sister for a proper burial😆.
It did real good!
My grandparents on my dad’s side had a small orchard behind their house. They had apple and pear trees and they also had rhubarb, potatoes, onions and tomatoes. My grandmother even had a root cellar with jars of fruits and vegetables.
Sounds like my grandparents. Sure miss em
The FJB huh? 😉 😂😂😂😂😂 😉 Great video! Super impressed with the great job you and your wife are doing with your girls! They are learning some excellent skills!
😆 thanks!
ya'll do not have to pluck the chickens you can skin them to and i think it is easy to do. try one see what happens you may like it.i guess it was chicken day. ya'll be bless and love and safe. SAVANNAH TN.
Yes for sure, saw a family up in Alaska do it that way.
Yes we do skin a few but the skin holds a great source of flavor and nutrients..
Great family education on self sufficient food prep.
Wow, you girls are getting big.
God Bless the family and prosper with the knowledge of survival 🙏
Thank you
Very well done Girls!!!! Of course Dad just stood around watching and talking, while the pro’s did all the work…haha!
Very true! 😂
Niome, Chad and girls....I'm sure KFC had something to do with the helicopter and without question, they are probably interested in your chicken legs Chad.....A great way to stock up for the winter and a perfect meal, for a very near future cold and snowy day...
😆
Excellent job of butchering the chickens. Your feather removing machine looks like it works well. Better and faster that doing it by hand. I also cracked up about having to watching out for FJB! 😂😂 Todd from da U.P.
Thanks Todd!
You should get the girls Mic's so when they talk they can be heard. LOL
You were picking on the one girl about walking through what to do with the chicken, and even when she was speaking I couldn't hear a word she was saying.
Sorry.
No worries man, and no need to apologize. Was just passing along info. Normally I don't worry about other people talking in your videos, but I was curious about the chicken butchering and prepping. (It's on my list of things to get into once my homestead is more than a dream.)
It was hard watching without the ever so present Cocheck (sorry if I mispelt his name), in the background 🥺
Kerchak is usually out doing his rounds around the property.
Hello from another Yooper! I just stumbled across your video and was proud to hear that your are also from the UP of Michigan!
Hello! Hope you’re having a great summer so far!
That’s an awesome disassembly line. Raising your own livestock for your own consumption is best considering what is being put and what they are considering to put into store bought meat and produce. Great video
Thank you
The mix masher is just flying training missions I'm sure. 🤣
Your girls never cease to amaze me. Many hands make light work for sure.
That’s for sure! All the extra hands is very nice around here!
I think it's funny that the chickens are just wandering around when there's a couple over there that already lost their heads
We have to have someone one the hose at all times so they don’t try eating them! We will probably have a different set up next year. We’ll see
I didn't know that chicken were Cannibals, I thought that was only hogs.
👍👍💯💯❤❤👏👏✔✔🐔🐔
love this family. 🥚🥚🍗🍗💟💟💓💓
❤️
Seriously mate your girls are a Credit to you and your wife ..they are little champs the way they get in their and help …keep up the great work ..from Outback Western Australia 👍
Thanks John!
It's been a year since I last watched your videos about the same time you guys moved. The girls have really grown, I watched in awe and admiration as muscles worked on the tractor and miss sunshine /mud foot didn't freakout when she got splashed with chicken blood. I must say you have some awesome girls there you must be very proud. And sorry to hear about Issac, not only did you loose part of your family but he was a pretty damn good supervisor.
Yes they are growing fast! They are an awesome bunch of girls for sure!
Omg Chad, love the alphabet agencies you named off some I've never heard of an then the helicopter,😂😂.
Nice to have the family involved in how to know to not only butcher but, process their food and how they were fed.
We did that as well with our kids, doing chickens, cows, pigs, deer, turkeys and fish.
Your wife and daughters are just getting prettier everytime I see them not to mention the girls getting more self assure of themselves.
Blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲
Thank you Patricia! I’m not sure I know half the alphabet agencies I named either! 😂
Very cool video! You and Na'omi have taught those young ladies well.
Thank you!
Awesome! Do you sell eggs or chicken meat?
We do sell some eggs but mostly give them to neighbors and friends. But we eat a lot of eggs. Haven’t sold any meatbirds yet until we get much more comfortable with processing. But would rather just teach others to raise and process their own birds.
That's really neat t h at your whole family gets into the processing take care love your videos
Glad you enjoy the videos! Hope you’re doing well!
Plucker 2.0 going good. Lol keep doing your thing, I love the videos!
Thanks! Will do!
what a great tteam of hard working family doing all the jobs nasty and nice
Thank you
Don’t teach your kids your paranoia about society
Nobody here is paranoid.. we can all see with our own eyes what goes on in this world.
Did you catch all the fish, or did you have had help with your daughters
A couple of my daughters and I went out. Great help!
FJB, love it 😂😂😂
😝
Aww, I'm tellllling! Lol!
Well done. Best
Thank you
Neat to see your process here. Thanks, and well done!
Thank you
Funny little segment there!!😂😂Looks like the plucker is working nicely and everyone is doing there part!! Good job ya'll! Thank for sharing!! See ya's in the next one! ❣❤❤❤❤❤❤❣
Thanks 👍 Take care Sandy! 👊💪👊💥
@@9252LIFE You to my friend! 😊👍
or maybe its an air show. or because there's an airbase near by
Nope
You have closer danger than the FDA or the FJB (🤣) ….. you have Gretchen Whitmer to worry about in Michigan! I feel for you guys!
😆
Not heard of her before, but a quick search and seems she is yet another (((globalist))) working for their Shekels.
Awesome job y’all 👍🏻🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Hello! Happy to see all of you are doing well and looking very happy doing what you are doing. I believe all of you love your work and helping out each other. You could build a chicken processing business and or plant and ship your beautiful chickens, with your business label all over the United States. Well, carry on and continue having fun working together. Have a beautiful day and may God continue blessing all you and your family. Take care. (David, Texas, USA)
Thanks David! A chicken business would be lots of work! We’d rather teach others to raise and process their own.
Yes, and it would be very expensive too, due to the refrigeration and the huge size freezers to keep all the chickens. Oh well, and life goes on. Have a great day.......... (David, Texas, USA)
Lol fantastic family fun!! That was awesome 👍🏻. Even the "see ya soon" at the end 😂.😂 Dave is showing his influence. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻
Man that’s where that came from! 😂
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. Blessings to your Family!
Blessings to you and your family as well Joseph! Take care!

Hope the meat birds last through winter.
Be safe n well .
Black chopper 😮
Last year we put 52 birds in our freezer and about 3 weeks ago we ran out. So this year we’re doing right around 150 birds. We’ll give some to our community and some friends as well .
