  • Our Girls on the Homestead help ensure our food and health throughout the winter.
Here’s a look at the operation involved in processing our meatbirds and how we wrap them up to last for years.
We mentioned EPA, FDA, and FJB and wondered if the big military helicopter is a coincidence?

How can you not be impressed with these wonderful young Ladies, processing the years food. There are some men I know who would not do this and watching social media most of the young people I see would not go near a live chicken let alone help with the work. God bless you all

    • @9252LIFE

Yesterday was only a test run with the custom plucker build so we did roughly 20. But now that everything is set up we’ll do 30 or so in a few hours. If we invite people over to help we can go much faster. But we try not to make processing a long winded day so we don’t dread it every year.

Love what you are doing. As a child I remember processing our chickens on our farm for our consumption. Watching them run around headless was entertaining for all of us but we also knew we would be eating these birds, it was just a way of life. We had cows and we utilized them for milk and meat, We grew corn for feeding those animals. We had chickens for eggs and meat. It was just a way of life. We had a large garden. Potatoes were a big thing for us on our farm for our personal use. We had a large raspberry and strawberry patch, my dad would load all the raspberries and strawberries we would pick into the back of our pickup and take them to the local town to sell. It was a way of life that I miss 50 years ago. God bless you and your family.

They will be the ones to call on if the EPB, TSB, CtA, FDA and other letters of the alphabet all come at you! Save the chicken blood for when those alphabet men come after you all, then let Talia run out of the woods laughing, covered with chicken blood and a hatchet, and the other girls all carrying shotguns, you won't be bothered again for quite a while. They all seem quite adjusted...at least until you mess with Mama/Daddy or their siblings or pets. You know this is how most horror/survival movies start, right?

Look up the University Wisconsin study from I’m gonna say the mid 90s it was like the first one wood versus plastic. I don’t remember the exact year, but the wood outperformed the plastic like the wood had Hundreds of ppb and the plastic had thousands of parts per billion of bacteria.

Hello! Happy to see all of you are doing well and looking very happy doing what you are doing. I believe all of you love your work and helping out each other. You could build a chicken processing business and or plant and ship your beautiful chickens, with your business label all over the United States. Well, carry on and continue having fun working together. Have a beautiful day and may God continue blessing all you and your family. Take care. (David, Texas, USA)

Thanks David! A chicken business would be lots of work! We’d rather teach others to raise and process their own.

    • @david78840

Yes, and it would be very expensive too, due to the refrigeration and the huge size freezers to keep all the chickens. Oh well, and life goes on. Have a great day.......... (David, Texas, USA)
