I miss this days!!!!! The 90s were the best! We sat in traffic for almost an hour on 55 at high street. SU cats were everywhere! We did not get a seat until after halftime. lol.
I was in the 6th grade in 1997 and growing up in Jackson in the fall was so special. This is why Jackson State is so vital to the city. This game was nuts though. This is also when Baton Rouge would invade Jackson. Something I do miss in 2024. A lot of these folks have passed on like my great Aunt and her friends that would get on those buses and head up 55.
Another great show by the BOOM. The band looked and sounded great. Liddell had the 90's BOOMs on point. Dayum maybe it's just me but the 97 J-sette line looked kinda tall.
They were... Drs. Rasheda Bell and Afrashanna Butler were the shortest members that season... All other members were 5'8" and above, with J-sette Amanda Deer being the tallest at 6'1"
This was the time of the real "SWAC Fan." This is how the JSU and other SWAC crowds were back when I went to everyone's games when I was in high school. I don't know what happened to the crowds at games starting in the early 2K's. SU was somewhat of out line as well. But it's funny people will whine or make a big deal if someone does the same to them.
