@@mylifeasme5791 that's true, people should think about these risks before getting a pet. I try not to judge too much though because it can be incredibly expensive! I spent about £1000 or more last year when my cat became unwell
@@mylifeasme5791 i think alot has to with it because of the money aspect. Sick pets and paying for treatment costs soooo much more money than a healthy animal. It's not always about being heartless or "ew i don't wanna take care of it" but if a rich person gives away their sick pet than yes that is heartless

She said multiple times in the past she that alcohol is disgusting. So that’s a little weird that she’s been drinking lately, I hope she’s doing okay
@@heyysophie9928 she said before in the past that she doesn’t like drinking that much and no where near as much as everyone else in the vlogs does. however she said she has a bit of alcohol just very occasionally and she’s still probably only drinking occasionally now even tho she’s legal. i’m sure she’s perfectly fine.

My cat had an infection when we got her, and actually spread it to my other pets. It was a process like you said, but I wouldn’t discourage adoption for animals that might have certain complications. That’s definitely a reason they should be adopted, so they can get proper treatment, if feasible for the person adopting. Definitely do research before adopting, and decide if you would be able to keep up with the pet. That awesome that you didn’t give her back, lots of animals are put down and it’s a real shame.💕

I have literally been dealing with my sick kitten I got a week ago and crying every day over her and currently in limbo with her options. this made me feel less alone and i hope posie is okay soon enough. sending you all love and peace

Glad you mentioned your concerns about where you got Posy from. People have a real tendency to assume that all shelters/rescues are “good” and doing the best they can to care for animals. This is true for the most part but a lot of rescues can have problems. Years ago, my family met a dog we were interested in adopting from a nearby rescue. We were told we had the top application and had a great first meeting with her. Things went south toward the end when my mom questioned a wound the dog had on its paw that looked infected. She wasn’t judging or accusing the rescue of mistreating her but wanted to bring attention to it. They became really upset with us and the tone changed and we were denied the adoption with no explanation given. I hope that dog found a good home but always think back to that experience and wonder how she was being treated.
I couldn’t imagine going through what you are with Posie 🥺 my kitties are my entire life and it would break me to not be able to hug them and cuddle them. You’re doing such an amazing thing by keeping her and trying to do the best you can for her 💞

Please don't give up. A random person's opinion might not affect you but I will think differently about you if you give up on your cat. Just like other members of your family, patience and care is key. You and your mom got this! Hopefully this upcoming month treats you well so you can give Posey the best life possible!
mama jen is legit the best. i was tearing up thinking about how hard it would be to give up my cat. so happy you don't have to go thru that.

Your thoughts are admirable but some people struggle to take care themselves for various reasons. Easier said that done.
I totally agree! Animals are not the ones to blame for being sick, they are the victims in this. Also even if they don't come sick from the shelters there is always a chance they will get sick anyway. People should consider this when adopting they are living beings not objects. If you don't have the patience or don't want to sacrifice things for them you are not ready to have one.

I'm so sorry Claudia, I'll be praying that God heals your cat, Posey. I had a similar story where my dad gave away my childhood dog because he kept getting fleas from the grass in our apartment complex. I'm still traumatized by it, and I think about it years later and cry. Thankfully my dog lives with a retired lady now, who spoils him everyday. I wish I had him still though, and that my dad had had the money to treat him and move. But it ultimately was no ones fault. I'll pray for strength for you and your mom too to get through it. When I adopted my dog from an animal shelter they straight up told me, “she seems lethargic and if she is sick bring her back and we will put her down for you.”

When I adopted my dog he had kennel cough (They didn't tell me) and was very sick/skinny. It was expensive to get him treated but worth it. He's happy and healthy now other than having allergies which he takes medication for. I couldn't imagine taking an animal back because they are sick. When you adopt an animal it's not an option for me either. Glad you are sticking it out with your kitten!

When you get an animal you sign up for things like these to happen. Most animals that get adopted aren't in a perfect shape since they are usually rescues.
I can imagine how emotionally draining this situation is, sending a lot of strength and prayers to both you and posey💜💜💜

I adopted a cat in January & she had an inflamed paw and was losing hair a month after we got her. We took her to the vet and he said “idk” she eventually spread it to our other cat & we took them back for him to still not know. We’ve been giving them anti fungal in hopes that it is ring worm. I understand the frustration with the vet, the shelters, and medicine. It’s hard bc you love them and want to keep them safe and healthy. I’m glad you were able to figure out a plan! She’s a lucky kitty! Just know your frustration is validated bc I feel you.
I'm really glad that you shared this story about Posie. Lately I've been nonstop thinking of adopting a kitten when I really don't have the room for one yet. This showed me that I should really have the proper space and items to take care of an adopted kitty! Prayers for Posie that she gets better soon and can be with you again :)

My mom and I took turns taking care of our senior dog who almost died if it weren’t for our 24/7 care for 2 months. She had to take 5 types medicine and I think that was my most difficult part because we had to soothe her to take it even though it was painful for her.
Fast forward the 2 months, she’s as good as new! I swear it’s like she was a puppy again, running around and barking so loudly once more. It’s absolutely amazing how strong their fighting spirits are, especially if they know you’re fighting with them. They just want to live and live for you. It was such a humbling experience that we rescued an abandoned kitten shortly after our senior dog got well, and they’ve been inseparable since.
I grew up with dogs but that experience completely made me fall in love with dogs again, and a new love for cats. My mom and I also got more closer after nursing our pets together ☺️ Posey will be ok, don’t worry, I have no doubt you and momma Jen will do everything for her.

Read the comments and I can't believe that it seems so holy to people to not give your animal away when it becomes sick. I know, some disgusting people do that, but who in their right mind would do that?! My mom always says, when you get an animal it's all in or nothing. It's your baby. You don't get to return your baby. I really hope she gets well soon and can come back to you really really soon
Sameee, i dont understand the comments acting like taking care of your sick baby instead of “returning it” is so unheard of or as you said “holy”. It’s not. It’s what you are supposed to do. Animals are not toys that can just malfunction so you return them or exchange them. Animals are family.
I mean lucky enough she could give it to her mom, If not I don’t really know what she would’ve done tbh because she didn’t seem up to it at all! I’ve been in the same situation, someone gifted me a cat for my birthday and turns out it was very sick, it truly was very heartbreaking to see her in pain because we had to put this lotion on her that was kinda irritating and hold her down for a while (Among other treatments), it took hours to commute to a good vet and a ton of money, but she ended up fine :) well she passed now but the process was definitely worth seeing her live illness-free for a while

i just got a kitten and funny story she literally showed up at our front door. we think she got separated from her liter and i took her in and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. but let’s just say it was not the easiest thing in the beginning but now she is literally the best and it will be so worth it and you won’t even remember all the hard stuff after it’s done with. good luck girl and i will be praying for little posie !! btw my cats name is stormi and she is literally posies doppelganger i kid you not.

You should report this vet, so that they take all the cats who need the help, and get treated. That's animal cruelty and denial. Which is a felony.. God it's just awful
