I think the Rockets biggest issue is off-ball movement. It's essentially nonexistent. Imagine is Harden played similar to Steph Curry off-ball while Westbrook handles the ball. If Harden can make contested step-back 3s.. pretty sure he can hit open 3s off screens, etc. I mean look how the Lakers defense was distorted with a player like Duncan Robinson. Westbrook has to cut to the basket more often off-ball. Now teams actually have to defend both guys in each possession. Right now they take turns watching each other dribble the air out of the ball while teams key in on doubles and traps.
It's easy to see the solution but having watched Westbrook's career, we know he isn't willing to make the cuts or necessary movement dating back to his OKC days. He's so used to standing and ball-watching offball that he's a liability. On the other hand, I believe Harden is capable of being an offball shooter but not as impactful since the team has no other creators. He's also fallen into the same stand and ball-watch tendency as Westbrook with another star in the lineup. The Rockets' incapacity to adapt is what doomed them. Their pure analytics approach isn't suited in seven game series where every game is s chess match of tweaks and adjustments to inch closer to wins. They either have to play this Harden-Westbrook partnership til its conclusion while finding a coach who can work with the personnel they have or trade either one of their stars/assets to bring in a new system that is vastly different from the pure analytics approach. Either way presents quite a while before seeing success.
@@TREXHUNTERX that's a flawed logic. The lakers are talented, yes. But the main reason why the lakers won was that the rockets' offense became very predictable. Wait im sorry, but Dallas 2011 had to claw through everything. It was no "stars alligning moment" they had to win against a blazers team, beat the defending champion lakers, beat the up and coming OKC thunder and beat the Heats big 3
What can you even get for Harden? If I was a GM, I wouldn't want him & definitely not for the price Houston would probably want. He's proved he doesn't play winning basketball.
Harden himself doesn't have a diverse enough offensive skillset to dominate in the playoffs, it's all 3s and drives to the basket. The most dominant playoff players all have a well-polished mid-range or post game to fall back on when things go south.
The reason rockets failed is because they try to play like the warriors rather than playing to their strenghts. The only reason warriors system worked is because of steph and klay. If d'antoni had a great system for the team rather than just throwing up 50 3's a game. This team would've went to the finals atleast once
AfricanGiant_ getting a good stretch 5 is what they need. But in my opinion they should try to persue a center like dwight in the offseason because i think that a athletic and defensive center is what they need. Then switch the offense up with more ball movement. Rockets playstyle inspiration is the warriors yet they never implemented any ball movement to the offense. They're just running iso and drive and kick the whole time
You are the best! Make a video about giannis antetokounmpo future and in your opinion what he should do for his legacy! And what type of players would be the perfect match for him to build around.
The argument is, OKC has our picks, so rebuilding is tough, but we’re not good to win and wont, so the decision is either be top five seed each year or gut the the whole team for hopefully a couple decent pieces and other teams picks
Houston are still a top 10 playoff team going into next year and thats good enough. All you need is a chance and a healthy roster and luck to win it all. Perfect example, toronto and the warriors dynasty years and cavs win.
Harden should play more off-ball like he did in OKC. He was one of the best moving without it and scoring. Right now, he is just doing "your turn my turn" with Russell Westbrook. If he doesn't have the ball, he is not a threat.
Morey's not getting enough blame here. Here's some analytics for you. Expected Championships Won in a Morey tenure is: 0.00. 13 years. 0 Finals appearances, 0 Titles. The guy turned over his roster like he was folding suboptimal cards in Texas Hold 'Em. People don't work that way. People remember. People take offense. People don't reward you with loyalty when you can't offer either loyalty or success. The Rockets have nobody on their team with clutch. Look at the last 3 minutes of Game 7 between OKC and Houston. *1* made FG per team! 2 stars playing not to lose. Compare that to the end of Game 5 between Jimmy Butler and LeBron James. Two alphas playing to WIN. You can either build your organization around nerds and numbers, or you can use the nerds and numbers to help your assessment. Morey's not a winner. Losers don't build winning organizations.
He stepped down because he knows he fucked the Rockets over in the future, and most importantly to him; he can't trade these players around as teams are not stupid enough to fall for his "magic". It was only a matter of time that he will get fired. That whole franchise is pathetic. They need to blow this up and start all over. It
Another problem about Morey is that he thinks he is smarter than everybody when it comes to basketball when in reality, he is really just a dumb fuck that doesn't know shit about the fundamentals. Rockets don't even play basketball. They play gimmicky bullshit that doesn't help in the end.
The rockets, the clippers, the sixers, and the bucks are pretty much all in the same spot. They mortgaged everything to get the teams they have. They dont have the assets, picks, or cap space to get significantly better without doing something drastic like moving one of their stars.
I think you are right and that is why the Rockets jumped ship like the Titanic. James Harden is an all-time great and it would be a shame to trade him to a sorry team. Give him a chance to win it all. Trade him to GSW for the #2 Wiseman and Wiggins and a couple picks or pieces. The Warriors would need a Boogie or Dwight Howard type, but Steph, James, and Klay would be an all-time team. I think Wiseman is going to be a superstar and Wiggins is young and can score well. the Rockets would have some cap space, too. The Rockets would go back to playing basketball. I like it! Harden should be rewarded for his loyalty and leading the team. Give him the KD reward, hahaha.
they are 1 center and a strategical shift away from being really good. they are very deep, has a good 2nd unit. they just need the right coach. focus on defense, let westbrook play bully ball off post or cuts and give harden the ball if he is not running off ball screens. offensively they are a very gifted team.
This seems like it’s gonna turn into a 2010’s Clippers situation. You have good/great teams for multiple years, but they never break through. Eventually you have to blow it up.
usually a team could trade harden to rebuild and compete in lets say 4-5 years, but the rockets already traded away most of their future picks so it would make more sense to trade for some win-now players. However other their only players with real trade value are the ones they would need to win. (Harden, Covington, Westbrook and maybe Tucker)
Ben Simmons is actually a great place to start a rebuild for the Rockets. Then trade Westbrook for another team which has too many young assets, like maybe the Knicks. Rockets could be back to the 2nd round in a matter of 2 years with a rebuild like that. By getting Simmons and a few young assets and draft picks, they could always swing those in order to pair Simmons up with another star player. Simmons could be the next Lebron if he works a bit on his shooting. He is that good.
@@lukass4314 ridiculously good? Simmons for Harden does = Harden and Embiid in Philly. Are you saying get Embiid to pair with Harden in Houston? I don't think Rockets have the assets to get Embiid, unless they give up Harden.
D'antoni didn't walk away, he "walked away". That's just a cordial way of saying you're fired. Owners and CEOs allow your to leave with dignity, but make no mistake, you are fired. Morey and D'antoni's style of basketball got them fired. D'antoni always came up short anyways. Good for the Rockets for moving on from these two. As a Lakers fan, I actually applaud the Rockets owner for making the unpopular but correct decision. D'antoni and Morey's basketball philosophy is flawed and only made winning in the post season more difficult for them, despite their meaningless regular season dominance. Rockets were never going to win anything the way they were.
No they can trade Westbrook. One scenario is Westbrook for Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner. That gives them a starting lineup of Harden, Oladipo, Covington, Tucker, and Turner which would be a significant upgrade to their roster.
Yeah that team is an upgrade from this years roster but it’s still not good enough to compete with the big dogs of the east and west. You also gotta remember the whole reason they went all in on small ball was because of russ slashing ability it was all just to maximize russ and harden. Without russ, super small ball is pointless. If they wanted to go the oladipo route then they’d be better off getting a legit big man that can pick n roll and have a prescience in the paint against players like AD or jaret allen
@@eternallyg Myles Turner is better than Jarrett Allen. Myles Turner is big, they wouldn't be doing small ball with him. The reason they go for Oladipo and Turner is because they fill 2 needs. They get a much needed second guard to replace Westbrook and they get a big man.
I feel sorry for Harden, they almost had the warriors back then, that is by far, their best roster in the last 8 years, then all of a sudden he broke up with his teammates!! by doing that, harden missed his only chance!!
For me harden need 2 legit star and the chemistry thats all..even lebron in miami and cavs need 2 legit star to win a ring..when harden trade to hous his 2 nd best player is not prime howard ,aging paul and westbrook..what if he demand 2 legit star like lebron in maimi and cavs
Harden needs a coach like Pop.. a coach that would really push him. playing defense, moving without the ball and passing the ball more efficiently. Other than that, I dont think Harden will ever improve.
The Rockets performance in the bubble should have an asterisk due to disinterest. Westbrook was hurt and James Harden was missing Strip Clubs and wanted to leave.
Ya know they might of actually fair better if they had that really tall guy that can defend the bucket with ease, what do they call them again??? Oh yeah a CENTER, you know the anchor of your defense in the paint. Because they can drive and make lay ups all game, who needs to shoot a 3??
If the Rockets are unable to find any buyers for Westbrook (small market teams are Desperate for an Allstar level player) , which I doubt the rockets have no issue moving, move Russ , obtain some bigs , restart again with Harden, Houston already lost D-Hops, harden traded would literally cause riots.
Amazing Video. Trade Westbrook to NY for: Portis or Randle - Ntilikina - Knox - 8th pick Trade Westbrook to Orlando for: Gordon - Fultz - Aminu or Mo Bamba (and some change) Either trade would make both teams better.
Tell the whole story. - Harden setting records for turnovers - Bricks tons of shots in the playoffs - Slacking off on defense - Overally reliant on flopping - The legendary choke jobs in the playoffs ("0-27 on 3s in game 7 of the WCF)
As great of a scorer as he is, Harden is part of the problem. When you say he plays 77 games a year, that's part of the problem - he shows up fried in the playoffs each year and then melts down. While he scores a ton of points, he has to work his ass off to score, often dribbling out the shot clock to get those buckets or to draw a foul. CP3 helped this situation by improving the overall flow of the offense, but then Harden couldn't vibe with him. The team needs to build a different type of offense where Harden doesn't need to work his butt off for every bucket and play hero ball constantly.
@@GojoRamsay888 yes westbrook value is decreasing every seasons. but i don't think harden hard to sell. If rockets really want to rebuild, he can trade him to team with expiring contract and pushing to playoff like bulls or spurs.
@@farhadzuhdi5396 totally agree bro but the main problem is to whatever team they send harden that team will lose a lot of assets. the same way rockets is out of assets now to trade. the best move in opinion is to get 2-3 players with 2 or more draft picks. or just wait till harden becomes free agent but i believe thats what theyre going to do with westbrook coz for me nobody wants him they will just let him go to free agency coz they cant find a place for him.
@@GojoRamsay888 its a little bit risky for other team to lose some draft pick to get harden. Maybe rocket will try again this year with new coach and new system. If its not working, rocket have to trade harden for better or worse next season. Westbrook isnt going anywhere until his ugly contract expired
@@farhadzuhdi5396 exactly bro. plus they are over the salary cap space so its either trade or play with the same lineup. they need a center though, small ball will not work everytime specially against lakers who has 3 towers. and houston only has 2nd round draft pick from Philadelphia better use it to find Center coz thats what they only have.
The best Houston can do is deal with the Celtics. Trade Harden for Jaylen Brown, Enes Kanter, Romeo Langford, and a slew of picks to replace the ones they've given up. They need to fix their draft deficit before anything.
Rockets aren’t in a bad situation. They just need to play their hand correctly and they’ll be fine. They do need to trade westbrook and eg out of houston after that they just need a superstar to help harden. Embiid could improve rocket’s def and offense. However westbrook and embiid wouldnt mesh well together.
@@2Ikechi you’re an idiot. Embiid is a post player that has been pushed to the perimeter because simmons doesn’t shoot 3s. Embiid has taken that responsibility of spreading out his game to compliment simmons and it hasn’t been working. The rockets could be a good place for him since he’s surrounded by shooters where he can dominate the paint. Also he can spread the floor so harden can drive.
I'd trade Westbrook to the Knicks for draft picks maybe Randle to make the money work. Then trade Harden to the Sixers for Ben Simmons. He's young enough and talented enough to start over and run a team. The trade benefits Philly because they become an instant contender in the east and NYK gets box office start power they need.
Nah truth be told though, if the ball has to run through Harden it’s not gonna work. If they could of aquired RoCo without trading away Capela, it might have worked better. They needed a legit SF/PF like Jimmy Butler, Kawhi or hell even Pandemic P, someone who can man up on D big time and still give you at least 15-20 a night. RoCo is the defense part but his offense hasn’t completely caught up yet. If the ball stays in hardens hand the whole game, no one can find a rhythm because 75% of the time he’s taking that contested 3
Houston is not out of options. Flip Westbrook and Gordon to the Sixers for Horford and Harris. Moves bad contracts in both directions, but it also Balances both rosters.
Trade Harden for Simmons and Richardson, Trade Westbrook and Picks for Levert, Allen and Prince Starting 5: Simmons, Levert, Covington, Tucker and Allen Bench: Gordon, Rivers, Richardson, Prince and Green
I have a background in Media and a University degree in it as well. Who can I speak to about joining the team frot the next NBA season? Serious inquiry!
Problem never was Harden, it was Russ unable to deliver, hitting those 3s bricks wont get u out of the hump when it needed most. In addition, Rockets also lack a big man, selling Capela was a grave mistake. It forces Rockets one dimensional offense, too predictable. Eventually Harden and the gang will run out of gas in 7 games series.
rockets should get embiid and trade someone like eric gordon or maybe covington and also some future picks i don't think trading westbrook will not work for rockets they traded cp3 for him and i know russ has been bad because he is quarantined cause of the pandemic and even after that he got an injury and he probably loss he's rhythm so i think they should give him one more season with the rockets and see what he can do
If I were harden and Westbrook I would take pay cuts so we could bring in more pieces. At this point in their career these guys are millionaires James hardens net worth is around $48 million and Westbrook is around $54 million so if these guys really want to win a championship that’s the way to go I think but their egos and greed are too big for such a thing
all those numbers mean nothing if you dont get that ring for harden and currently i dont see him getting one...as amazing as he is...he's just a scorer and not a winner
Dude literally Trade Harden for 1st pick and GET MELO!!! And somehow Try to do a 3 way trade to get rid of Russ and get Cam Reddish. Houston would be smart to build around 2 6’8 guards. They honestly can’t win with Harden and Russ, blow it up and wait for the future where GSW players are retiring + Bron
Id argue that this team needs to hit the reset button . As much as you want to run it back, its not looking good and it's better to gather assets off Harden, westbrook, Gordon, etc. They could very well get picks in this draft or next year

Wait im sorry, but Dallas 2011 had to claw through everything. It was no "stars alligning moment" they had to win against a blazers team, beat the defending champion lakers, beat the up and coming OKC thunder and beat the Heats big 3
Gotta hit like for using one of my favorite clips from Half Baked LOL
Love this channel 🔥
this shit deserves more views
What can you even get for Harden? If I was a GM, I wouldn't want him & definitely not for the price Houston would probably want. He's proved he doesn't play winning basketball.
Tobias harris or ben simmons and a lot of picks. Makes sense for both sides
55 wins and a second round exit guaranteed , Knicks would want that
I mean 76s definitely wouldn't mind that a team who has more than enough defence and needs offence and has enough assets to gain harden
Rockets a lottery team without warden😂😂
It’s crazy how they were so close to knocking off the KD warriors
CP3 was their point guard. He controls the flow, defends and can be clutch.
Killed it on this one
great content! keep it up
Harden himself doesn't have a diverse enough offensive skillset to dominate in the playoffs, it's all 3s and drives to the basket. The most dominant playoff players all have a well-polished mid-range or post game to fall back on when things go south.
He has somewhat of a postgame and if allowed is a good midrange shooter look at when he played under McHale
The reason rockets failed is because they try to play like the warriors rather than playing to their strenghts. The only reason warriors system worked is because of steph and klay. If d'antoni had a great system for the team rather than just throwing up 50 3's a game. This team would've went to the finals atleast once
@@giangrantfallesgon7520 facts, and what would be a huge move this off season is getting a stretch 5 imo but idk thats doable
He has it he just doesn't use it
AfricanGiant_ getting a good stretch 5 is what they need.
And what type of players would be the perfect match for him to build around.
shooters , he needs shooters
The argument is, OKC has our picks, so rebuilding is tough, but we’re not good to win and wont, so the decision is either be top five seed each year or gut the the whole team for hopefully a couple decent pieces and other teams picks
That CP3 trade was all Tilman, Harden and Moret aren’t dumb
@Easymoney Dawg I think he was refering to the main issue that the rockets gave up more first round picks than they had to for that trade
Houston are still a top 10 playoff team going into next year and thats good enough. All you need is a chance and a healthy roster and luck to win it all. Perfect example, toronto and the warriors dynasty years and cavs win.
And now Russ is a Wizard.
They play gimmicky bullshit that doesn't help in the end.
they should get gallo
The rockets, the clippers, the sixers, and the bucks are pretty much all in the same spot. They mortgaged everything to get the teams they have. They dont have the assets, picks, or cap space to get significantly better without doing something drastic like moving one of their stars.
Once they got first round russ i knew it was over!!😣
So they should trade harden
I almost died laughing at Tom Hanks “Houston we have a problem” and I dont know why haha
I dunno, you convinced me that the Rockets absolutely need to trade Harden while at the same time telling me they should not trade him.
usually a team could trade harden to rebuild and compete in lets say 4-5 years, but the rockets already traded away most of their future picks so it would make more sense to trade for some win-now players.
He is that good.
simmons for harden is ridiculous, they should try to pair up harden and embiid at any cost
@@lukass4314 ridiculously good? Simmons for Harden does = Harden and Embiid in Philly. Are you saying get Embiid to pair with Harden in Houston? I don't think Rockets have the assets to get Embiid, unless they give up Harden.
What a transformation. Let's go Rockets
New York wants Russ trade him their
for the Mitchell Robinson maybe Kevin Knox
Trade em both there
They'd have to match the 40 million in salary Julius randle 😓
That gives them a starting lineup of Harden, Oladipo, Covington, Tucker, and Turner which would be a significant upgrade to their roster.
pacers would never
Yeah that team is an upgrade from this years roster but it’s still not good enough to compete with the big dogs of the east and west.
Nobody wants Westbrook bad contract.
@@eternallyg Myles Turner is better than Jarrett Allen. Myles Turner is big, they wouldn't be doing small ball with him. The reason they go for Oladipo and Turner is because they fill 2 needs. They get a much needed second guard to replace Westbrook and they get a big man.
@@Abdullah-sl4gw The Pacers are certainly going to trade Oladipo and Myles Turner in the next year so their trade value isn't very high.
I feel sorry for Harden, they almost had the warriors back then, that is by far, their best roster in the last 8 years, then all of a sudden he broke up with his teammates!! by doing that, harden missed his only chance!!
He was the one who brought Russ , that dismantled the entire team from coach, GM
You don't need options when you have exactly what you want
What team could possibly put Harden in rotation ? He is the best scorer tho
CP3-Harden era was rockets best chance of getting a title
Rockets dont need a superstar they need chemistry with each other
For me harden need 2 legit star and the chemistry thats all..even lebron in miami and cavs need 2 legit star to win a ring..when harden trade to hous his 2 nd best player is not prime howard ,aging paul and westbrook..what if he demand 2 legit star like lebron in maimi and cavs
Harden at point was there best move ever this era.
Give us the story behind Lebron James.
Yeah
you dont write a story until it’s finished
Still written.. and it's one of the most beautiful stories to be told.
Damn if the rockets get draymond green and a scottie pippen type player it’s gonna be a show
If the Rockets are unable to find any buyers for Westbrook (small market teams are Desperate for an Allstar level player) , which I doubt the rockets have no issue moving, move Russ , obtain some bigs , restart again with Harden, Houston already lost D-Hops, harden traded would literally cause riots.
Amazing Video.
Trade Westbrook to NY for: Portis or Randle - Ntilikina - Knox - 8th pick
Trade Westbrook to Orlando for: Gordon - Fultz - Aminu or Mo Bamba (and some change)
Either trade would make both teams better.
Tell the whole story.
- Harden setting records for turnovers
- Bricks tons of shots in the playoffs
- Slacking off on defense
- Overally reliant on flopping
- The legendary choke jobs in the playoffs ("0-27 on 3s in game 7 of the WCF)
As great of a scorer as he is, Harden is part of the problem. When you say he plays 77 games a year, that's part of the problem - he shows up fried in the playoffs each year and then melts down. While he scores a ton of points, he has to work his ass off to score, often dribbling out the shot clock to get those buckets or to draw a foul. CP3 helped this situation by improving the overall flow of the offense, but then Harden couldn't vibe with him.
The team needs to build a different type of offense where Harden doesn't need to work his butt off for every bucket and play hero ball constantly.
What's the song he always uses at the end?
Now tell me wtf they would trade harden and keep Westbrook
westbrook is a liability. harden is more marketable but still in my opinion harden is hard to sell.
They need a above average centre and 1 all around player.
Should have gotten a big man who can defend the post and shoot the 3 at 33%
The best Houston can do is deal with the Celtics. Trade Harden for Jaylen Brown, Enes Kanter, Romeo Langford, and a slew of picks to replace the ones they've given up. They need to fix their draft deficit before anything.
Trade Harden to the
New York Knicks
They passed on keeping a good team together when they traded Clint Capela. Westbrook and Gordon are albatross contracts.
Why has this channel got low subs?!!
What’s the intro song called
They need a coach who would critizes them with there defense
Harden is a 🐐 he is a true scorer just need a better squad
But have you won or got close to a chip?
Harden to Warriors
Please no. They tried to replicate warriors small ball and failed.
Am I crazy to think they could get some value trading Westbrook to the Bucks?
any channels like this?
Nah truth be told though, if the ball has to run through Harden it’s not gonna work. If they could of aquired RoCo without trading away Capela, it might have worked better. They needed a legit SF/PF like Jimmy Butler, Kawhi or hell even Pandemic P, someone who can man up on D big time and still give you at least 15-20 a night. RoCo is the defense part but his offense hasn’t completely caught up yet. If the ball stays in hardens hand the whole game, no one can find a rhythm because 75% of the time he’s taking that contested 3
go to GSW. Time to feel what championships taste like.
Houston we have a problem -chris smoove
Houston is not out of options. Flip Westbrook and Gordon to the Sixers for Horford and Harris. Moves bad contracts in both directions, but it also Balances both rosters.
Trade Harden for Simmons and Richardson, Trade Westbrook and Picks for Levert, Allen and Prince
Starting 5: Simmons, Levert, Covington, Tucker and Allen
Bench:
Gordon, Rivers, Richardson, Prince and Green
I have a background in Media and a University degree in it as well. Who can I speak to about joining the team frot the next NBA season? Serious inquiry!
You spelled for wrong
A "let's blame Houston for Harden's failiures" video.
They should have made a move for Jimmy when they had the chance.
We can still try to win one with Westbrook
westbrook just got covid and injured., they can run it back.. with a better coach., Nate Mcmillan is the best option with a young assistant coaches.
Problem never was Harden, it was Russ unable to deliver, hitting those 3s bricks wont get u out of the hump when it needed most. In addition, Rockets also lack a big man, selling Capela was a grave mistake. It forces Rockets one dimensional offense, too predictable. Eventually Harden and the gang will run out of gas in 7 games series.
i wont be surprised if they traded westbrook too
They need to trade James and Russ to the Knicks ASAP. They aren't doing anything ever.
rockets should get embiid and trade someone like eric gordon or maybe covington and also some future picks i don't think trading westbrook will not work for rockets they traded cp3 for him and i know russ has been bad because he is quarantined cause of the pandemic and even after that he got an injury and he probably loss he's rhythm so i think they should give him one more season with the rockets and see what he can do
If I were harden and Westbrook I would take pay cuts so we could bring in more pieces. At this point in their career these guys are millionaires James hardens net worth is around $48 million and Westbrook is around $54 million so if these guys really want to win a championship that’s the way to go I think but their egos and greed are too big for such a thing
I really think the Houston needs a big man now
Just like russ and steven adams in okc
Just like harden and howard in hou
I heard they are willing to trade anyone except Harden for embid
all those numbers mean nothing if you dont get that ring for harden and currently i dont see him getting one...as amazing as he is...he's just a scorer and not a winner
They could very well get picks in this draft or next year
4:46 But that cake tho♥
