Potential is off the charts. If youre an old timer like me, you remember growing up with horror movies coming out on VHS based on every holiday possible, and this oozes that same nostaligic vibe. The cinematography looks spot on and I'm already in 100%.
Looks like a total ode to Roth's favourite slasher Pieces. You can see the influence, but it does look unique in its own right.
I only remember Halloween, Black Christmas, and My Bloody Valentine, which was set partly on V-Day. What other eighties/nineties slasher films were based on holidays?

Amazing movie! Took myself on a date twice to see it last week and I was left smiling each time. Eli completely captured 80s and 90s camp horror and made it his own. Definitely a cult classic horror. Hopefully there will be a trilogy franchise because a movie each “thanksgiving” (I’m Native American, we call it turkey day) would be epic 😩🥹

The lady in the oven is on the top of my list of worst fears, but after watching this trailer, the corn cob utensils through the ears unlocked a new fear that made my list lol

Saw it yesterday and it’s one of the best, most original horror/slasher movies I’ve seen in a long time. It had me completely invested from start to finish with no dull moments really. It’s a really intense movie that you should unquestionably see in the theatre. I didn’t watch any trailers or read any reviews before watching the movie, so I didn’t really know what to expect. It’s not often that I give a movie full stars but this one gets a 5/5 ⭐️ rating from me.

The script was awesome. The acting by Addison Rae was awful.
It's heartening to know that they can still make such movies with so much power in it. Good acting, impressive direction, classic screenplay & a brilliant story. This one will go down as a horror classic in a few decades, I feel. You must watch it. Time spent well.

This was awesome. Like, I didn't know what to expect really. I watched the movie today and I really enjoyed it, I bought it on iTunes and watched it. I haven't actually watched any of the full trailers for it tbh till now lol, and this was really good. I've seen bits of the movie from TV spots but this was awesome. And each kill was unique I think, and the reveal at the end was something I didn't expect.
It was a ton of fun! Can't wait for #2
This was a really good slasher whodunit! "There will be no leftovers" is a great killer catchphrase!! Also, i love how a lot of the scenes were taken from the original thanksgiving short from 2007, but remastered with even better effects!

Just got out of the theater. This movie was excellent. No filler and some of the ways the characters were killed off were absolutely brutal. Very unexpected ending. I totally recommend.

Just got out of the cinema with my husband after watching this. It was better than I thought it would be and the twist of who the killer was definitely was unexpected. Recommend 👍🏾
This looks fantastic. And what I love is that it seems to take itself seriously- meaning it's just the right level of camp without being absurd or trying to be a comedy. Too many slashers are comedic these days, but I love how violent, dark and nasty this one is.

For anyone who doesn't know, Thanksgiving has a grindhouse trailer from 2007 because it was cancelled that time. I'm glad they finally decide to complete the movie.
It was never canceled. It was just a trailer, like all the others. They just happened to be well received so they made Hobo w/ a Shotgun and Machete. I doubt they'll make Don't or Werewolf Women of the SS.

Yooooo!! This movie idea actually dates back to 2007. Basically, Quentin Tarantino, the mastermind behind Pulp Fiction, made a double length movie with another director and tried to make them seem like antique b-movies you would see in the 70s. They asked several directors to make fake slasher trailers to make it seem more authentic, one of them was Eli Roth and his premise was Thanksgiving. Love how that old idea of a Thanksgiving themed horror movie is actually being made.
It’s so trippy to see that Roth was actually planning on making this all along since the super brutal fake trailer for this film came out in the grindhouse theatrical release. Can’t tell you how wild it is to see that in theaters 15 years ago when I was around 17 years old and then now… movies really help make life worth living thanks to all these fantastic directors who aren’t afraid to push boundaries cinematically

I love this movie, best way I can explain to my friends is that it’s practically the holiday version of the movie Scream.
Saw it last night with some friends and it was really fun with so many great kill scenes. It made me want a future Final Destination movie to be directed by Eli Roth. Could you imagine the death sequences in that!

Excellent trailer that really keeps your attention. My only concern is that it, like many other horror movie trailers, show too much. The scene where the killer uses the water and fridge door is super creative, I wish I could have seen that for the first time in theaters.

Just got back from seeing this, feels like scream thematically. It was wonderfully written, engaged the entire time, a few hard jump scares and they dont hold back on the gore...holy shit what a fun movie this was! definitely go check this out!!

Slasher estilo os antigos, e tem cada cena marcante aqui! A cena da loucura do mercado é extremamente engraçada, e as mortes são muito criativas! A do trampolim foi alterada e é um pouco diferente da do trailer do grindhouse pra cá, mas ainda é bem legal. O cara deixou um gancho top no final e uma cena pós-credito engraçada!

Once they got into weird deaths that make zero scientific sense (hello, stupid escalator scene*), bad CGI and an equally bad script, I got immensely bored.
Too bad, as I loved FD 1 and 2, despite the fact that logs DO NOT bounce! Sorry. They just roll off to the side in a very uninteresting manner.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting an enjoyable movie. But me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed it. Had us debating on who the killer is based on height, physique, hair style and motive. Only to be entirely wrong on who we thought was the serial killer

This movie was amazing for what it was. Laughed so many times that I couldn't count. The oven scene with the thermometer popping had me chuckle more than I should admit. Go see it!

If you love horror like I do and nothing nowadays seems to scare you in that amazingly fantastic way you love to be scared, watch this movie!! I just saw it and I've never felt the impulse to walk out on a horror movie within the first five minutes because it was THAT kind of horrifying before Thanksgiving.

From Oklahoma, Whose Great grandmother and Great grandfather told me about the "trail of tears" and the General George Washington's named Burner Of Villages by Indians, I relish the Self Righteous White Invaders who gleefully mass-murdered 100 Million "Red Skins" just because Indians were In The Way. Americans Invented Genocide, Adolph Hitler copied the American Mythology when he murdered 6 Millions. 100% Hitler was a Piss-Ant compared to American Genocide - American Killed 100 Millions, then Celebrated with "Thanks Givings" to their Sodomite "God"
As a person new to horror movies this was a very horrible start. When I walked out of the movie I looked behind me to make sure that HE wasn’t following me 😅

Been a horror movie lover for years and never in my life have I seen a more f*cked up movie. So much gore. I got nauseous and my stomach was turning so much. Never experienced anything like this before. It scared the sh*t out of me and my boyfriend. This is an actual scary movie. Very well made but not for people with a weak stomach. I was shocked at how intense this movie was. 10/10
I found the characters so annoying, I was rooting for the killer within 5 minutes.
I think the mother's weird plastic surgery is WAY scarier than the villain. Big, ol, weird poofy lips and puffy face, sort of like alcoholism, but not quite.
I remember going into the theatres very high to watch the FNAF movie and this trailer almost giving me a panic attack,10/10 well done

You gotta be kidding me!!?! OMG!!!!! I can not believe he actually made it into a film! The grindhouse double feature was epic and this was the funniest trailer of them all. I can’t wait
The movie would have been good if it showed there were two killers because does not make any sense how the sheriff was chasing her in the school when he was outside or got there quicker than she did when she escaped and also in his uniform. It was like watching scream, I know what you did last summer and Halloween. The writer could have made it a bit interesting and a bit realistic as there is always two killers!
There is going to be a sequel, the director announced it. I believe the girls ex boyfriend helped. During this scene you are talking abt, notice how the “killer” is waving the ax around like a baseball bat. Her ex used to play baseball and blamed her because he couldn’t play anymore because she convinced him to go into the store anyway. He literally disappeared throughout the whole movie with no explanation.

I went and all it today my parents didn’t even see the preview before we even saw it but when we did that movie was really scary with lots of Jump scares. It makes you not wanna have a thanksgiving
