I think it'd be cool if they added in fog plants(which would give you a fog effect if you're near them), and crows with glowing orange eyes which spawn in the biome.
The fog effect should be defaulted when you enter the biome, even in the daytime. Then, make the mob active in both day and night. In the day, it'd be like a foggy, quiet swamp biome thingy, and it'd be scarier at night. I don't think your idea is a bad one.
Yeah. I personally understands, that we will receive more content later, but the only disappointment was pale garden. Like, it's GARDEN, not FOREST. WHY MOJANG?
My biggest complaint with the Pale Garden is that there is not reason to visit it at night. You can find the hearts in the trees without a Creaking present. Why would I enter at night when I can just deforest an area and get a handful of creaking hearts that way? My idea would be to have creaking spawn all day, but only in the Pale Garden biome. The biome is supposed to be kinda foggy, which would explain why the creaking can spawn in the daytime. If they can end up adding a reason to visit during the night, then the daytime spawning wouldn't be necessary. But right now, I see no reason why I should ever go in the night, unless I need a lot of creaking hearts _really fast_ and don't have the patience to chop down a bunch of trees to get to them.
Ironically the old swamps have what I believe is the perfect biome design. You have to come in at night to get exclusive slime balls, but you also face the challenge of wet terrain alongside normal mobs. It is a serious challenge in the early game. If they can make the creaking something like that, maybe make the creaking hearts be able to be crafted into an oar upgrade that makes boats travel faster, it would be great in my opinion.
6:20 I thought it was super annoying how the people just kept talking *during* the sound design section. Like you can tell us about it first but will you please let us actually listen to the sounds?
I'm pretty confident that the tree shape is just a placeholder. They mentioned willow trees as it's inspiration so I can image they used dark oak temporarily so they could show off the biome during minecraft live while they continued working on the willow tree shape. I say that because the water is bright blue in the biome when you would expect it to be Grey like the sky is, so I imagine they are still fine tuning the biome.
I think that it’s cool they are using the dark oak texture as it creates a nice dichotomy. It’s called pale oak which is basically the opposite of dark oak.
I think the thing infects all tree types because the stuff on Twitter had things with all the logs, I doubt it would only spread in dark oak biomes EDIT: THIS IS A GUESS NOT A FACT
That's brilliant actually. Imagine an improved decked out where the upper levels are filled with ravagers, the mid levels are absolutely overflowing with creakings and the lower levels still have wardens. It would be pretty much perfect! It definitely helps that creaking are so seemingly trivial to obtain too (potentially for use in mob farms?).
I really hope Mojang adds more to the Pale Garden because I'm getting flashbacks when we thought the sniffer would get a ton of flowers but that never happened.
The creaking being able to be summoned is SUPER cool imo. I really do hope that it attacks anything nearby as opposed to just the player. The reason for this is that ONLY it seems to spawn there, so giving it that kind of aggression would help a lot with putting it to use.
I like the biome, but it looks awful next to the normal biomes. I think a fix would be to have a thick fog cover it from outside, so it’s not as visible, similar to the Korok forest from Breath of the Wild
I’d be ecstatic if they added willow trees, because those are one of my favorite trees! I tried building one myself before, and it’d be so cool to actually see them in the game! :)
You are expecting way too much from the indie studio of Mojang and their severely overworked devs. A reskined dark oaked is the best thing you will get and asking for more is very inconsidarate, because mojang doesn't have money or time to add a single new tree for an update that focuses entirely on a biome said tree would generate in. Also they said they would do smaller updates now, so a few reskinned textures that could be done in Paint in 5 minutes is the most they can add.
@@ywoisug8845 What kind of nonsensical rubbish are u yapping about 😂😂 I never said I wanted them to change the new update, do you see that in my comment? No. It’s perfectly fine how it is. What comment did your brain read? If they added willow trees in a future update that would be cool is all I was saying. Your mind read too many other comments, maybe it’s time for a break. Go get a glass of water and some nice, fresh air. Also- how in the world are they an indie game studio rn?? Minecraft was literally bought by Microsoft, is one of the biggest games ever created, and they have millions of dollars. 😭😭😭😂😂 Thanks for making me laugh I needed it, and nice bird pfp btw mate
I still think the Creaking needs more work... They need to have some kind of dummy Creaker, a 2-tall plant that generates in the biome and just looks like a dead sapling. But at night it would have glowing spots that look like the Creaker's eyes. Then they can make the Creaker have a blink animation, and the easiest way to distinguish between them is to notice which one blinks from time to time.
I really wish we got a white stone as well, that is not quartz. Not the one with geodes but one with full set of blocks, like stairs and slabs. But you're right, just the wood opens up a lot of pallets because how universal the black to white is in building. Just look the revolution that took place because of tough and deepslate.
I hope there's a bit more of a reason to go to the pale garden, it looks cool already but I wish there was a bit more than just a new wood type, especially as this biome's main threat is only active at night
Something I saw on the official video was a suggestion for a mushroom that looks like the creaking eyes. If they would only spawn on pale oak grown in that biome, I think that would be a great reason to go there.
@@enn1924I don't think that's the case, in the minecraft live aftershow they show gameplay footage of the pale garden and the creakings and other mobs spawned there too. They might not have implemented it yet though, so idk.
I hope they put more things into the pale garden itself. It's very obvious that the community LOVED the birch forest concept, so them now making a new biome that is basically a desaturated oak forest with a new exclusive mob and some thicker vines looks a bit bland to begin with. I hope they start adding more ambience into the biomes like they did with the lush caves. I'd love to see some new mushrooms, maybe growing on the trees themselves, a few fallen over trees, another canopy style, thick bushes and almost hedge like structures, rockpiles, thick fog and maybe a structure like an abandoned tent or extinguished campside. Make the forest proper scary, dynamic and fleshed out. Like the creaking has been part of it for a long time and not just waiting for the player. I also agree with others saying that there should be variations of them bending in different ways and sort of "traps" being around - either from people before wanting to catch them or them showing some sign of intelligence. I hope you can't simply dig a hole, lure them in and then go about your day. But I'd also love more connections between game elements itself, which should be improved in general imo. A lot of new items only make one thing (amethyst > spyglass, sniffer > flower, etc.) while older or more basic items often have multiple uses (wood > button, door, sticks... / Copper > rods, blocks, lamps... / Redstone > torch > repeater). I'd simply love to see more steps and levels to recipes now that we have auto crafters and more "results" of acquiring those new blocks and materials outside of building and decorations. Otherwise, if I don't need / want them for building, what reason would I as a player have to go there on my journey to kill the dragon? Do I find new materials for a new boss? Or something to enchant in a new way? Can I get an item to improve my crops? Or some rare material for a new redstone contraption? What's the value of going there? Overall I like the ideas they presented. It's not as dangerous and risky as the warden, but it also isn't as exciting and fleshed out yet. Visuals and gameplay both need more depth to convince me of this new update, but I hope they can get it right, just like they eventually improved the use of copper.
Little bit disappointed that Mojang is making another Oak variant tree instead of choosing another unique tree. If I pitched the concept of the Pale Garden, I would choose a tree with a grim association, like Weeping Willow. Other than that, the Creaking being a Weeping Angel type creature adds a whole new horror atmosphere to Minecraft.
@@sonicjhiq Still two types of oak when there's more varieties of tree to be explored. Doesn't make a lot of sense to add a 3rd when there's literally 100's of options.
Relax guys. Oak is the OG minecraft wood. Of course they are gonna be a staple with regular, dark, pale and azalea leaved variants. They will call the wood pale oak cuz it just works (white oak is an IRL tree btw) but i'm pretty sure the trees are gonna be willow shaped when the update drops. They are working on it. They actually do this on purpose. Like dipping a toe in the water to gauge reception and gather feedback. They will collate data and focus group it to make sure it's as good as they can. Honestly there are so many overlapping and interconnected variables that most ppl dont even fathom how adding anything to this game is basically like navigating a minefield. To quote Bruce Lee: "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast". Slow is the only way to develop anything for a game this old and complex. One thing you didn't think of could throw off a bunch of things, imbalancing stuff through unforseen emergent gameplay mechanics (redstone in a nutshell basically lol), creating a ton of game breaking bugs, etc. Speculation helps but also we gotta just trust the process. Yes they should shut all this crap down and focus on revamping the inventory/hotbar, QoL updates and bug fixing but the powers that be at Microsoft and/or Mojang won't allow that for whatever reason(s) so there is sfa we can do about it. I hate it more than anybody but whaddayagonna do eh?
I really like the Creaking and the Pale Garden, though I have some criticisms: - I think the damage it does is too low. It would be good if they increase it's damage a bit, not something very drastic. - I would like if they reduced the amount of particles that the Creaking emits when it gets hit. I think it would add a lot to the "dead, eerie" vibes that they want to make. - They said that it's a very territorial mob that doesn't move too far, and we could use its heart to protect our base. Maybe they could expand on that, and have a way to "tame" the Creaking so it can work like a defense tower (maybe something using amethyst shards?). - The existence of the Creaking lets some implications that maybe they're protecting something in the garden. I wish the developers could delve more into that. - As people already suggested, maybe adding some light fog could make things more interesting and eerie. It's still in development and there's a lot they could change yet, so I hope they take some of these stuff in consideration.
I think what they're protecting is the pale garden itself. The creaker hearts are what control the creakers, and they don't move more then 25 blocks away so it's almost like they're protecting the trees.
if it's a Pale Garden, then maybe there should be a structure for the biome that is a sorta ruined garden, featuring unique bushes, flowers, and perhaps some new rare loot that the creeking mob would be protecting, and I agree with a lot of comments where there should be a fog for the biome, really up the creeps and low visibility aspects. This part is just a personal opinion, but maybe they could call the trees something else instead of it being another oak variant. I'm no tree expert but perhaps there's a plant to inspire the ones in the game? idk, definitely a lot of potential here, i hope they keep tinkering with this one
I agree there should be something within Pale Gardens as an incentive to exploration. I can imagine entering a Pale Garden once to gather wood and saplings, but there's little incentive to return. If there were some sort of structure harboring valuable loot, it might be worthwhile to delve deep into the Pale Garden to find it. At this point, Creaking Hearts don't seem like much of an incentive.
It could be a good idea to even add a totem variant within the pale garden (the creaking protects it) maybe one that can be used to ‘reanimate’ a boss.
That would require Mojang to put effort into their content and that's not happening any time soon. Vegetation? Cooking/Food? Verticle slabs? Combat mechanics? Fletching table? Nah, just reskin some trees and vines.
@@drsch vertical slabs is never going to happen lmao. and not because of "lAzY", but because it would be almost impossible to add in a not infuriating or clunky as hell way also, cooking/food? if you mean a cooking system, lol i think you're playing the wrong game
One thing I noticed is that the pale oak tree isn’t just a dark oak tree re textured it’s a pale garden being generated over a dark oak forest. You can see acacia style pale oak trees in the distance meaning the biome will change based on where it generates
i think this biome is incredible! only thing i wish was different would be an increased fog.. would really add to the horror vibe i think. maybe only when its raining?
It’d be cool if thunderstorms made it dark enough to spawn. That+daylight detectors would allow it players to more easily detect when storms start, unless they start at night.
Maybe only at night. There could be something interesting in those forests worth exploring like burried treasure but in form of grave and you would want to find it quick before night. Then as night starts fog would come and creakings appear (only you would need to make them really strong like mini wardens where they would 2 shot you in diamond+prot IV armor)
Maybe add “dead” trees that spawn without any leaves to make the place seem more dead, also add some more plants that fit the vibe, maybe some bushes and flowers. Someone suggested “creaking decoy” plants or something similar to that and that could work great as well
@@xevnai I think one of the biggest problems with tree shapes is that something like the dark oak is optimal for the creaking to work. If the tree is just 1-wide, It's too easy to eliminate hordes of creaking. But they can't just make a bulky 3x3 tree, it's just too big. So the difference ends up needing to be in the branches, but they're pretty limited there too. It either ends up like a cherry tree, a jungle tree, or a dark oak tree. They can't just make a leaning tree either because the creaking will struggle to pathfind around it.
I'm not really sure about just calling the wood Pale Oak. It's fine, I guess, and it goes with the Dark Oak, but I'd have preferred it if they followed through with the inspiration and called it Pale Willow.
Yeah - really not a fan of the extent to which the game leans on oak and oak variants. I wish they'd put a different tree in regular swamps - willow would work well there - and add azalea wood to go with azalea leaves, as well as coming up with new names for the dark and pale oak variants.
@swampselkie It would be cool and kinda thematical(though maybe too specific) to name the new trees weeping willow(s). The hanging pale moss could also be some sort of branches of the tree itself ngl. The creeking looks cool already because asymmetrical but honestly it could use more variants, some maybe more overgrown(+sometimes shrooms on it too) a bit like the bogged is.
1:30 My luck rn is crazy. I grew up in Dallas and haven't been home in over a year. Finally going back home and its when the minecraft experience is happening. Awesome🙌🙌
@@wyster14 It's not every day you meet an interdimensional traveler. I understand that they don't update the game in your bizarro universe, but in this universe the game has been getting steady updates once or twice a year for over a decade with a fair bit of stuff in each update. I'd love to see at which point Mojang took 5 years to do nothing but add a singular item to the game like you claim.
I like the drop, the concept is good. I do believe that it needs more polishing. The trees need to be more crooked and twisted like the creeking. The mob needs to do way more dmg, and have more animations. There has to be some unique items (that are useful) aside from the wood that you can get from this biome.
To increase the scare or eerie factor I’d suggest a few things 1. Constant Fog during the day and night 2. Have the Creaking deal more damage and make it faster 3. Have the Creaking blink or shut its eyes every now and then to have it blend in better with its surroundings
Eh not everything needs to have a “use.” I think they could just add this for the fun of it and it wouldn’t hurt the game or be too distracting, honestly the white wood and a hostile mob that can be “spawned” by the player is a good enough reward for not too much risk.
@@rooodis456 you're right, but almost everything in Minecraft the last 5 years don't have any new deep mechanics. We get redstone updates occasionally, and that's it. The last biggest non redstone feature was trading with piglins, I guess
I don't think they need to hit super hard. Not everything needs to be an escalation over existing hostiles, plus the challenge comes from not being able to fight them directly. But yes, I think it needs more. I think this is a pretty barren biome for something that's supposed to be a "garden" biome, and I hope they add new flowers, bushes, and maybe some other kind of completely new plant. Also maybe some kind of paths and lights, like a fancy garden? Maybe occasional little cottages with white fences?
I really feel the Pale garden deserved better, just adding fog depending in how many Creaking cores are in the area and the creaking spawning in the day would be perfect, right now it just seems waay to bare bones.
The big problem is that the pale garden seems like the trial chamber (which required a year of dev to improve). If this is a drop, then this means that the pale garden won't get the time it needs and i feel sad cause this biome is cool, but you have no readon to stay there more than 5min.
@@plume_grise3044I mean I don’t know about you, but I personally love the idea of clearing out an area in the middle of the forest and building a spooky mansion or dilapidated house there, it gives a sorta “you can’t leave until the sun rises” vibe, a trope some horror stories like to take on
But like why would i want to go into that biome other than the wood type. Cause i would activly avoid it if its night time. It needs to give you a reason to explore it at night time. Like a structure only vissable at night. Or a drop when the mobs die.
I think gathering the hearts is a cool concept, but really niche. Maybe they could give a meaningful purpose for collecting them and setting your own creakings up. They could be made hostile to all mobs for example, then they’ll serve as defense. Helps that they go away during the day too.
Same mentality as "why should I play while it is night?" Anyways, they should add something so the creaking feels like a worthy opp to face (thrill of the double life!)
7:30 I think playing a music disc in the biome will make it like act up so probably not a new music disc but "remixed" ones that can only be heard in the creaking biome which is a cool concept imo if it's true
The pale garden has a lot of potential but if felt underwhelming in minecraft live because there is literally nothing to do there (at least for now). There are no new structures and the only thing people could want from it, the wood, can be easily collected during the day meaning you have no reason to interact with the only mob the biome has, they really need to add something to the pale garden that can only be gained at night (preferably from another new hostile/neutral mob) and I feel like the creaker's damage should be buffed up a bit so they can kill someone with no armor in 2-3 hits, that way you'll have a reason to stare at them since right now they feel a bit weak
They already can kill someone in no armor in 2-3 hits...kind of, they do 5.5 hearts of damage so it only takes 2 hits to kill. It was a bit bugged in minecraft live though because at one point it did 5.5 hearts followed by only half a heart. I'm pretty sure it's designed to do a lot of damage for the first hit and then minimal damage for the second so if it's your first time encountering them you get scared but still have time to react. They should make the first hit do 5.5 heart. Then the second and third hit do 0.5 hearts then 1 heart, and then any hit afterwards does 6.5 hearts. So that way people have time to react and learn the mechanic then any mess up afterwards is there own fault and they die from it
@@skeleton819yes I can add a poo with one uniquely specific mechanic that 20 people will use and love but that doesn't make it good, this new place adds nothing fundamentally new or interesting to the game for 99% of the players. It just looks like bloat, same as the sniffer, interesting for 2 minutes then you forget about it gimmicky and sad that all they can come up with is a re textured dark oak biome with one new mob :(
@@MakingPancakes Not moving while being observed is quite new. Plus some players may like to figure out the lore behind the creature or use the new wood in builds. Or experiment with the creaking’s combat abilities in mob to mob. Or do command block creations with it. Defend their base with one? Maybe just mess around in creative mode. Maybe it doesn’t have to be a rigid linear system. Even if it is nothing good, don’t act like you didn’t just get the trial chambers with the ultimate weapon
I think it’d be cool if they made creaking variants for all the different wood types that only show up if you put the creaking heart between the other log types, since it doesn’t naturally spawn anywhere outside of the pale garden. For more versatility in map making or custom game modes. That way the creaking can be a force to be reckoned with even outside of its biome if you chose to make it so.
the announcements for the updates were cool. i really like the pale biome and its blocks, and the creaking is cool too. glad that more semi-horror stuff like the warden gets added to minecraft. it seems like at the moment the leaves just change color in other biomes, i hope they make it like birch and spruce leaves in that it keeps its color regardless of the biome since "being pale" is kind of their whole point. i also think the biome should be called pale forest instead of garden, but that is kind of nitpicky. the movie and experience stuff i dont really care about, but good for those who do i guess. the villager news animated segment was really fun. i just wish minecraft LIVE was actually LIVE instead of just a pre recorded video like they have done the last few times...
I really like the concept of the Pale Gardens and the Creaking, but I think it needs quite alot more to be improved on... Here would be 10 changes I would add to the Pale Garden to make it perfect: 1 - make the Grass Blocks more grey-ish and the dirt as well, or just have like a Black and White filter over blocks when you are in the Pale Garden 2 - Let's make the tree's taller (like really tall, like 20 or 30 blocks tall), and more eerie, have them look more like weeping willows to add to the creepy vibe, and maybe have roots that come out from the trees for aesthetic 3 - We need to add to the aesthetic so I suggest we add some unique fauna, here would be the three ideas I have for new plants: - First we have a mimicking type of plant. This plant would be around 2 - 2 1/2 blocks tall, it would look similar to the Creaking and be a sort of mimicking plant to add to the aesthetic - Secondly, let's add a plant that acts like a trap of sorts. It would be inspired by a Venus Flytrap (with a greyish color scheme of course). It would bury itself in the ground looking very similar to the greyish dirt, but would have small details like some red or white to signify to the players that it is there. This adds a small threat to the game, but can be countered if you are paying close attention. These plants would act like a mix between a mob and a plant, where it needs to be killed but when killed drops seeds that you can plant for yourself. - Lastly, let's have a few plants that act as sort of dead, or pale versions of already existing plants, perhaps these plants could make sounds similar to the Creaking or another mob I would like to add (it is later in this list), these would be normal plants that act as decoration... 4 - Lastly for aesthetic, to add much more to the atmosphere, the entire Pale Garden Biome will be enveloped by a thick greyish-black fog, this would give it much more aesthetic and add to the creepy feel. 5 - Increase the damage the Creaking does by around 2x or 2.5x the amount it currently does, it would make it more of a threat and a reason to destroy the Creaking Hearts in the first place... 6 - Let's add a few new mobs, I think four more would be a good balance to give it a unique feel: - First lets add a ghost like mob. I would call them Banshee's. Banshee's will stalk the player, following them around, moving slowly towards the players, make sound similar to the Creaking. They are aggressive mobs, that once they get close enough to you, damage you by screaming at you. Arrows are ineffective on them, you would need either a Breeze cloud to kill them (the drops from a Breeze) or you could light soul sand near them to scare them away / use a blue torch or lantern... Banshee's when killed would drop Banshee essence, - Let's add another land mob, idk what I would call this mob, but it would be a mob that crawls around using to extremely long arms, with no legs, and would have a large gaping mouth. It would be an extremely aggressive mob that attacks on sight. This mob would only spawn in a cave generated in the Pale Garden. One of these Ancient Caves spawn per Pale Garden Biome, and it would be the home of this mob. Going into one of these caves initiates the fight, this allows for extra challenges and rewards for players. Once it is spawned, it can leave the cave, so be careful because if you don't kill it and leave, it will wander around the Pale Garden. But it will never leave the Pale Garden Biome. They can use its long arms to drag you closer towards it. It is extremely dangerous, but gives a large reward when killed. When attacking it deals a large amount of knock back, but they are really bad at turning, so you can use that to your advantage by attacking in from the back, or when running away move left and right to lose it, especially with the large and dense trees in the Pale Garden. (this mob can also crawl, and could lurk on trees, but will make a guttural sound when you are near it.) When killed it will rewards you with alot of XP, as well as assorted loot, these drops act like a reward from getting everything it has killed. It also has a chance to drop a head when killed as a reward. This mob acts like a mini-boss with around the same amount of health, or slightly less than the Ender Dragon. When killed it would also give a Tooth, these could be use to make equipment equal to Diamond level. This mob would not be an easy mob to kill, but does allow for people to get a chance to run away if they wish. (Only one spawns at a time) - The third addition I suppose would be called a Man-Eater. It would be a Crocodile inspired animal, that would lurk in small creeks and ponds that are found in the Pale Garden, when you are close enough to it while it is in the water it will leap out at you and deal significant damage to you. This animal would not have much more of a use than being another threat in the Pale Garden, these mobs would spawn during the day though, so it would add a threat during the day alongside the Seeker. (when killed they drop Raw Meat, and Man-Eater hide (explained later in the comment) - Finally, I think a mob that lurks in the ground would be a good addition, lets call them a Seeker. Like the Banshee and the Creaking, they would make ambient noise, they would roam around buried in the ground below you. They are around during both day and night, but become much more dangerous at night. A Seeker would be attracted to loud footsteps, so walking normally and using a camel would not attract them, but running on foot or using a horse would draw them to you. When they are drawn to you, they will use their unique jaws to reach above the ground and drag either you or the tame you are riding in the ground. You must attack the Seeker to get out of it's grip. When you break free of it's grip you will slowly float back up until you are out of the ground. When killed Seekers will drop Seeker Jaw's these can be used to make a new item discussed later in this comment. 7 - As I mentioned before each mob I proposed, gives some sort of drop: - Currently the Creaking doesn't drop anything, I say we change that. But I do not know what they could drop or what the drop would be so let me know in the comments! - The Banshee would drop Banshee Essence that can be temporarily consumed or interacted with to give someone the ability to have projectiles, players, mobs and objects phase through them. Yes, this means they can go through blocks, but be careful as if the effect ends while inside a block you will get stuck there. They can also be brewed to make a Potion giving the same effect. Duration lasts 30 seconds. (this also means that effects like poison potions and Dragon's Breath don't effect someone in this state, or Lava) - The Man-Eater would drop Raw Meat which can be used as a food source similar to steak. The Man-Eater hide would be able to be used to make a unique armor set that takes much less damage from melee attacks but take much more damage from projectiles, potions and arrows. This set has very low durability, so it would need to be used sparingly. - The Seeker would drop Seeker Jaws, these could be used alongside some other items to create a sort of grappling hook, that could allow you to get up to a higher elevation if you can grapple onto a block, but also can be used to pick items up and interact with items from a much further distance. - Lastly, the mini-boss of the Pale Garden, the unnamed one, would drop it's teeth. These teeth can be used to craft variants of arrows, pickaxes, swords, shovels, hoes, axes, and a unique shield. These items would be around Diamond tier, but would have more durability, to rewards those going into and facing this beast one on one... (this boss also drops XP and random loot like bones, spider eyes, emeralds etc, again random rewards for each one killed) 8 - Now we have alot of ambience and feel to the Pale Gardens biome, but why go there? Let's add a reason too go there, obviously the mob drops already make it a wanted place to go, but let's add a little more too! When a Creaking Heart is picked up using a Silk Touch pickaxe, it can then be replaced where you want. When it is replaced, Creaking's would act as they normally do attack players, but if you placed the Creaking Heart down, use Banshee Essence on the Heart and it will pacify the Creaking's that spawn from it. Creaking's that spawn from a Creaking Heart this way would defend the area within 50 blocks of where the Creaking Heart is from other hostile mobs. This gives them a PvE use, and can make them quite valuable... 9 - What about a way to find one? Perhaps you could find a map or a compass that would lead you to the nearest Pale Garden? Just a thought. I think that once the mini-boss is defeated though, you could get a map / compass that could lead you to a Lost City, just a thought but could help add some connectivity to the game... 10 - Idk what else could be added to help improve the Pale Garden biome? Let me know you're guys' ideas for it here! I would love to see what else the community wants from the Pale Gardens. Also let me know what you guys like and would change from my ideas here!
Great ideas. Sadly, I doubt Mojang will add it (hopefully, there is more to the biome than what was presented in Minecraft Live). I agree that the wood types look bland (they could at least add faces frozen in fear into the trees), here's an idea, If the creaking kills the player a sapling will automatically plant itself at the place of death and the tree will have a horrified face of the player ( also, previous victims of the past) embedded in the bark (when the sapling matures into a pale tree the items and experience you dropped is preserved in the creaking heart and breaking it without silk touch gives them back as consequence the creaking heart won't be collected. You can identify which tree is yours by seeing the horrified face of your own avatar in the bark). I got this idea from a cartoon network show called ''Over the Garden Wall''
@@TheD3mogorgoni really hope they make the trees bigger, and they should look more like willow trees and not just a copy of the dark oak tree (and maybe call the new wood "willow wood").
@@TheD3mogorgon The creaking reminds me of a mythical Dryad fused with Ents. They don't leave their specific tree and only stop attacking at a specific range (the creaking heart acts as life support). Mojang should add a mechanic that creaking's only attack if you break a block from their tree, if the player doesn't then the creaking just stalks the player but doesn't attack (it would be a neat way on how the player chooses to interact with the environment and the creaking is a force of nature acting on self-defense to prevent deforestation, which we know players are capable of). A player can permanently alter the behavior of the creaking depending on how the environment is interacted with.

@@JustSomePancake Actual willow tree would be amazing. My guess is they were like "We have Oak, Dark Oak, why not Pale Oak" and the trees need to be thick so the Creaking heart isn't fully exposed. They could've made them a bit more origianl tho, just saying.

@@digitalfantasies4570 I really hope they make water and dirt gray in color over there, also some fog like in the early Alpha would be *chefs kiss*. Imagine a new structure or whatever, the graveyard, with like 10ish graves and in each there is a chest 1-2 blocks deep should be enought, most of the chests have bones and rotten flesh in them but if you're lucky you may get a brand new armor trim or a music disc. Or maybe the graves could be randomly placed throughout the forest. I feel like that's not asking too much, right? With that being said, as soon as they revealed that the Creakings were "immortal" and you actually need to mine out their heart in order to beat them my first thought was "a dungeon with hostile mobs like that would be fucking amazing". Like a creepy Dracula-like castle or something.
As a horror fan I love things like The Warden and now The Creaking it's so awesome I love the sound design of it Mojang always nails the sound design, kind of reminds me of The Ritual how the Creature blends in with the Trees, I also love that you have to destroy its heart, that's going to be fun for making games, I'm working on a big game that's a mix of Zelda, Decked Out, and Speedrunning and this'll be perfect in the Forest Area The white wood is also a huge Win, I really need it in my City People in this community love to hate on them for anything and everything, but I don't think there's ever been a 'bad' update they always had something awesome some better than others but each addition is very much appreciated and loved
What Martyn said in his review, and what I personally agree with, is that they mentioned repeatedly just how much work this new biome had supposedly been, when realistically, coding a new biome into the game should not be too much work if you can copy-paste a lot of your code because there's already this many biomes in the game. The connection the Creaking has to a block is unique, but I assume that it standing still when you're looking at it uses very similar code to the enderman. It's upsetting when they seem to try to make this update just as big of a deal as a major update, when it's not supposed to be one. Just be honest with the fact that this is not going to be a major amount of stuff. Don't make it more than it is.
Its not hate. We expect better. This is not a year's worth of development time. I can make this in a month having no experience with java. So that would include me learning Java to then write up a mod to implement all of this. Yes less than 30 days part time for some middle age boomer, and this is all Mojang has got. There aren't many haters. Its just frustrating to see cattle moo for the distribution of goyslop.
@@featherofajay4667 I just want people to stop insisting this update is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ! Its not. Doesn't mean we hate it either. But they always virtue signal against "the haters." Is so toxic!
Now only wait for map creators use them and to make them very fast and 2 hit you in best armor (you can do it either by attribute command or effect command)
Right now I think there is a lack of a clear incentive to take on this challenge for most players, making it seem a bit out of place. Ironically the old swamps have what I believe is the perfect biome design. You have to come in at night to get exclusive slime balls and you can spawn more slimes by moving deeper into the swamp, but you also face the challenge of wet terrain alongside normal mobs. It is a serious challenge in the early game. If they can make the creaking something like that, maybe make the creaking hearts be able to be crafted into an oar upgrade that makes boats travel faster (or some other upgrade like swift sneak), it would be great in my opinion.
the new biome and mod are so so cool but it doesn’t seem like there’s any point besides the new wood. i love this but i wish there was a structure or something inside of it
The wood and variants look absolutely gorgeous. And the creaking seems really interesting and unique. I love how they're adding new unique gameplay aspects
8:35 That's actually going to the limitation of Minecraft's model system. You see, the biggest model a block can be is from -16 to 32, which from the center block is a 3x3x3 cube, and the pale moss carpet creeping up the walls is then going up the carpet model itself, and then 1 block above the model. But the breaking animation of anything outside the 0 to 16 boundary is generally known to be broken, so I hope they fixed that either without telling us in an earlier version, or coming with 1.22.
This is a super cool concept, but not enough is in the pale garden to make it worthwhile to go there, so i think there'll be a special structure that'll spawn there as well
@@elijahvillegas1370except I'm pretty sure that's backwards, and bundles of bravery will drop soon, probably October, and the creaking will follow later, probably December.
3:40 when they’re looking at that village you can see the trees with the leaves not in the biome and they unfortunately looked green. So hopefully they’ll change that
the creaking needs to be so much faster, being able to sprint jump away from them even while not looking at it really screws over the horror aspect of it.
They easily swarm and the only way to get rid of them requires you to break eyesight from them. Making them faster ruins that point. The mini game at the end of the after show perfectly showed this.
How about instead of speeding up the creaking, they just slowed down the player instead? Maybe something like cobwebs, you have to avoid a certain type of foliage (maybe something brand new?) that slows you down if you want to run away. Getting stuck in the middle of a chase is incredibly scary, and that is exactly what would happen if you just tried to run away. It would also stall the player a little bit, making it harder to escape before nightfall, and giving you less time during the day to gather wood, adding a little panic factor as well
The Creaking isn't a threat, you can easily survive multiple hits even without armor. If they don't wanna create a second phantom they need to make it stronger. Also why would you need to keep an eye on it if you can just outrun it? It also needs to be faster.
Although I love the new wood set, I am very at odds with adding basically a whole new set of gray blocks… again. Out of all the colours I could think of adding more to (purple, red, etc) gray was not in any way on that list. We don’t need more gray blocks. I’m still waiting on an End update, not a gray, bland biome. The new mob pleasantly surprised me, and I can see it used in so many scenarios. One of my favourite designs for a mob as of late, and I’m hoping this one will actually drop something. Not the update we wanted, but it does seem well thought out and very harmonious.
I can agree with you on most levels, only things I have to say are make Creakings much stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV. And never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks adden through last updated but it's true other colors need some love, purple especialy
We don't have grey planks tho, we have many grey blocks but no planks sadly, so I would say the problem is that we don't have those specific grey blocks
The one thing I desperately hope for is them adding a high chance of abandoned villages spawning inside the gardens, maybe even a very rare case of also spawning a very damaged golem or an iron block in the floor with a poppy next to it.
.. I really got my hopes up over this new wood type, thinking we'd finally get like a grundgey heavily-weathered looking wood type for making creepy cabins and such.. But it just turned out to be a totally-flavorless clean white wood.. Only good as a decorative trim/motif, or for making crap like churches/chapels/beach houses or similarly-themed buildings.. At least the biome looks nice.. If I had a choice in location, I would happily set up a base there. Maybe couple acacia logs with that moss to make an abandoned cabin look, so the dream's not totally dead.
My issue is there is nothing that the Creaking is guarding/explains their existence and is worth venturing for. The biome just feels empty. I'd add some weird mushroom to make the biome even more unique, uncanny, & worthwhile. It could be brewed into a potion that desaturated your vision but gave you some powerful interdimensional powers. Maybe some combination of floating/phasing/further reach effect for builders as a replacement for the crab?
I think it’s supposed to be attached to a few specific biomes. I do hope there is a little bit more, but I also think it’s important to note that it will feel very different to a player just starting minecraft vs a player who has played it for a long time and followed the updates. I know a lot of the community is people who have followed the game for years, but a big part of minecraft’s design is just being able to explore, so a newer player just going through a funny block game forest only to end up in like SCP/slenderman forest I think just sounds pretty cool. I do wish there was some more depth to some of the biomes, but I think it does run the risk of being like the mob vote mobs where they only have like 1-2 functions that you would only go to them for. A pretty common criticism of Minecraft has been that it’s a mile wide and an inch deep, but it’s also kind of the point. I think right now we’re closer to like half an inch deep on some of the new features, but Minecraft was always intended to have an extreme amount of horizontal progression and a pretty light amount of vertical progression.
Remember, this is the true first preview we’ve gotten of this update, Minecraft is telling us they really do take suggestions, just because the drop isn’t ideal right now doesn’t mean it won’t get better, I imagine it will be one of the coolest things in the game when the drop releases Steer clear for new changes to this biome and give the devs suggestions, because they are listening Edit: bruh I’m being called a narcissist in replies for thoroughly explaining my points 😭😭. The MC fandom got some rotten apples in it. Best I can do it make moonshine from it.. but yeah I’m done arguing with that guy

No. What you see is what you get. This has happened for years now. Stop huffing hopium. This is underwhelming and is a reflection of the creative bankruptcy of the development team. They literally gave you grayscale washed out recycled mobs, wood, and vines. That could all be done in less than a week, from design to shipping the finalized patch. When i first heard the name of the biome and then saw that it would be desaturated, i was hoping it would be a floating island sort of thing, because it's so different aesthetic wise from almost every other biome, that having it be literally separated would be pretty neat.
about the leaves, i have this feeling that the color wont retain in other biomes. from that clip of the sale wood being used in builds i think i saw the trees with green instead of pale.
I legitimately can't wait until the Pale Garden is playable When the Dark Forest dropped, I thought it was going to be terrifying, so I made a Dark Forest-only world. It wasn't really. I'm going to make a Pale Garden-only world, and I'm going to scream (hopefully)
@@epicsouththeoduskiangamer I mean that I set the world to generate only Dark Forests, therefore from the very earliest game I was in the Dark Forest, I told myself no canopy traveling and no island dwelling (that was attempt 1) and it still wasn't spooky enough so I'm still quite hype
That's not going to happen. Its going to be just as bland and non-threatening as the Dark Oak biome. Why are you people salivating at an update that Notch would put out weekly? Has it been 2 years since the caves and cliffs update? Before they spit it into two updates? We need to respectfully but firmly expect more from Mojang. This is not in line with their game design philosophy. This is corporate and stale. The biome's aesthetics are a genuine and sincere reflection of the amount of soul Minecraft has lost since 1.16. Look at it. Washed out. Bland. Recycled content. Recycled enderman. Barely anything casually new. Recycled vines and that is your G A R D E N!
Finally, more light white blocks, we need this so badly, we have very little to work with, the moss and hanging moss is very cool, but more blocks and yet no backpack or anything to address the ever growing inventory growth, we need mini shulker boxes and smaller versions of every block, think the iron nugget, iron ingot, iron block and then a large iron block, huge iron block, mega iron block, this would help condense and compact things down, also a double ender chest is something we need too now
It's an interesting forest biome, I just think we need some more diversified updates. First the Cherry Blossoms, then the Mangrove, now the Pale Garden. This may be due to their new update structure though, regardless, would love some more attention for places like the desert which feel sorely lacking in terms of attention
@@Moe_Posting_Chad They did do both of the other biome updates to be fair. We got update mountains and the updated swamp was turned into the mangrove biome.
@@Bubble-Foam Yeah but what about the other 4 biome revamps they are supposedly already designing? And the last biome update took them two major releases and like 2 years to complete. Personally I think that the garden as it currently stands has a lot of potential to be interesting, it would be really cool if they could also use it to expand on the archeological updates Maybe in the garden we can sweep through dead leaf piles and find new sherds that are themed to the creaking or the garden itself Adding in fog would be very interesting, I also think this place having some dark haze in general at night to blot out the sky would be cool, also a great opportunity to add back on the fireflies to jusr light up the scary darkness Give the garden more vegetation and honestly remove the mobs that can spawn in it or make the creaking hostile to anything and everything if there isn’t a player in sight I also think structures would be really cool in the garden, anything from towers to get above the canopy to just ruined walls from those who attempted to brave it before us, this update could be very very interesting but it’s entirely up to mojang to do it justice and not produce something half baked and boring
But they aren't doing any of that brother. What you see is what you get. There is nothing more, there is no depth to this. Its just another slapped on biome that is not justified. You're making design suggestions that WOULD make this good. But they WILL NOT happen. So judge what you see, because that is all there ever is with modern Minecraft updates.
@@Moe_Posting_Chad That’s exactly what I meant, mojang has the choice to make something good. There is a VERY large chance they won’t at all, and this update will prolly be the most lackluster and boring thing we get.
@@Big_Soft_Doggo And the sad thing is it wouldn't be hard AT ALL to make us happy. Just add new plants. Those stupid little poppies are just a sprite. That Mojang is so close but seemingly deliberately always comes up short.
I hated that almost all the comments in the livestream were all people just hating on everything. This mini-update is cool and adds many new features. I would like to assume there will be even more added to the Creaking before they get released. They just don't promise all those features now, since people would complain if they didn't do it.
The mini update just doesn't fit minecraft at all. Minecraft isn't a horror game and even if it was this biome and mob wouldn't be scarier than an enderman. I would prefer having no updates for months or years.
Its great what desaturated palette its brings to the grey tone blocks and i like the creaking but for a NEW BIOME, i expect it to have more. The only thing u can currently get from the biome in the day time is the wood and the new moss... that's it? I know mojang are doing these smaller frequent updates but still for a new biome being added, its needs to have more. Ideas i have that could add more spectacle to the biome - - For a biome called the Pale garden, they have the pale part down but nothing screams out garden. There needs to be more variety in the foliage in this biome. add more creepy flowers, a new grass or bush type maybe? Some more to fill out the basic look of the biome. - The trees NEED to be different in the way they look. Imagine like a Gothic horror garden. Maybe the trees, are taller, thinner?, more spiky? and maybe even add variants of DEAD TREES, No leaves, with logs and dead big branches u can collect as items or something. Maybe this is a way to introduce a new shape to minecraft. A vertical slab? a quarter slab?. That after this update, the other trees wood types too can create vertical, quarter slabs or some new block shape. - Introduce and add actual fog in the game like shown in the village animation that played during the showcase.. Imagine the forest at night is actually covered like in a dense fog but like in minecraft style. Makes it harder to navigate and wayy more scary when u see glowing eyes in the distance. Maybe a new mechanic/item that u find in this forest that when combined with glass bottles or something makes it possible to collect 'fog blocks' that u can then place at your own bases (only in the dark ofcourse) to create your own spooky area. If all of that is too much, maybe just growing the pale trees in your base in the darkness, generate the fog in your base. -Plus one thing mojang needs to do is, Add proper drops for the mobs, a new item. Something useful for the long term, mobs can't just have nothing happen after killing them. I know I'm saying all this knowing Mojang does add new stuff to the update in the snapshots and i know there are many factors I'm unaware of behind the scenes that affect their decision making but my honest reaction to the first reveal of the new pale garden biome was, 'That's it?' ..
ok how tf does anyone sign into the minecraft feedback site? Every time I try, it signs me out instantly and is like "Hang on a moment while we sign you out... We signed you out. It's a good idea to close all browser windows. 🙂" There's nothing I can do. It's been like this for over a year. It's just broken.
I think how it’s supposed to work is that since someone really likes the pale blocks, they’d overstay and when they plan to leave, as they go, the Creakings start to stalk them and they have to deal with them. I assume that’s how it goes. Creepy.
It is a nice idea, In my oppinion, if they would have placed this biome in the "end" you could have made many more people happy since it also fit theme wise. The planks look really nice!
ello! i really wished that the pale garden had more things in it, because someone could just go to the edge of the biome to get wood, then leave. i think there should be a structure in the center or something else new
Well yeah but if you look at a bunch of other biomes, (like birch for example) you go to get the wood then leave. Idk why everyone is expecting there to be a huge new thing in the biome, why can’t it just be the biome?
The Creaking is a very (modern) Doctor Who kind of enemy in concept, you’re telling me this thing that looks like the creature from “Hide” is ALSO a weeping angel? lol I love it!
As others have said, this new biome needs a lot of work. In its current state, there's no reason to go there other than to collect a sapling and creaking heart. I feel like it could do with some fog or small structure with unique loot. An enchantment related to the creaking, for instance. Oh, and the creaking should do much more damage, for obvious reasons.
I like features showed, new mob sounds very fun, only things I have to say are: 1 maybe make Creakings stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV for example. 2 Never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks added through last updates but other colors need some love, purple especially 3 Intense fog at night in this biome so atmosphere would be more sinister 4 Maybe some small structure that would spawn every time in this biome, now hear me out: Grave - it would be small grave with statue and chest with some specific loot for it, so imagine someone walking into pale gardet looking for grave only to become scared of night approaching as he tries to leave with loot.
The first one ruins the main point of the mobs counter. They spawn on mass and the only way to get rid of them is to break eyesight with them constantly. Just watch the mini game at the end and you will see that they got low on health extremely often.
For everyone complaining about the pale garden being lacklustre, just remember that the update isn’t out yet, so there’s still a possibility that it could improve!
The design solution of making them invincible but giving them a lifeforce block is pretty smart. The weeping angel mechanic is always my favorite in horror games, but it usually relies on the player having no offensive abilities, so this is a nice compromise for that, since you can't control the player's loadout. That said, I feel like we need some narrow, crooked trees in the biome to better reflect the mob's look and help sell the paranoia you're supposed to feel there. As it stands, I don't think they blend in very well, even ignoring the obvious glowing eyes.
It's impressive how fast you always are uploading these fully edited update videos with voice over... Deep respect for all you put into your content!🔥💪🏻🥰

4:00 the pale garden looks so boring. just another tree type, nothing interesting unique except the mob at night. i think biomes should always come with unique terrain types/features. we don't need yet another kind of wood
Things that can be added to the Pale Garden: - Make Sniffer sniff more ancient seeds in this biome - Similar to swamp during full moon, add a night event that can be triggered every new moon - Add more variety, including grass, ferns, dead bush (?), flowers - The creaking should come in different sizes - small and tall ones, as well as the way which they are leaning. - New ambient particle? - A new passive mob, similar to bats - A staff made from creaking heart that when equip would spawn 2 assistant creaking on your side that'll aid in combat - A reason to come during the night (probably structure, or loot chest)
You can now see the creaking in the latest snapshot!

Crows would definitely be quite atmospheric, it would've been interesting if they also spawned around witch's hut.
Omg yes crows!!! 🤩
I love crows, they're great. Please Mojang, please! 🤞
YEE crows!! I love corvids, best type of bird.
The fog effect should be defaulted when you enter the biome, even in the daytime. Then, make the mob active in both day and night. In the day, it'd be like a foggy, quiet swamp biome thingy, and it'd be scarier at night. I don't think your idea is a bad one.
Modders will bless us
If it's a "garden", I wish they added some more pale coloured vegetation. Ferns, flowers, etc.
Bushes like real bushes and not leaves on ground would be cool.

or spawn in ferns and stuff but have them desaturate in the biome like grass blocks do, if thats possible

Some ruins maybe?
My biggest complaint with the Pale Garden is that there is not reason to visit it at night.
You can find the hearts in the trees without a Creaking present. Why would I enter at night when I can just deforest an area and get a handful of creaking hearts that way?
My idea would be to have creaking spawn all day, but only in the Pale Garden biome.
The biome is supposed to be kinda foggy, which would explain why the creaking can spawn in the daytime.
If they can end up adding a reason to visit during the night, then the daytime spawning wouldn't be necessary. But right now, I see no reason why I should ever go in the night, unless I need a lot of creaking hearts _really fast_ and don't have the patience to chop down a bunch of trees to get to them.
what if you wanna visit it at night to fight? surely you cant possibly be playing mc and not enjoy any combat

I think having the trees the same shape as dark oak trees isn’t great, maybe have the trees in the same asymmetrical style as the creaking?
I think they did that so the creaking heart would be surrounded by logs and thus wouldn't be spotted as easily
I think the thing infects all tree types because the stuff on Twitter had things with all the logs, I doubt it would only spread in dark oak biomes

The creaking being able to be summoned is SUPER cool imo. I really do hope that it attacks anything nearby as opposed to just the player. The reason for this is that ONLY it seems to spawn there, so giving it that kind of aggression would help a lot with putting it to use.

Yeah. I really do think it needs to blink too. It’s too obvious otherwise.

Finally, a white wood type to go with medieval builds! No more wool, no more sandstone, no more bone blocks! Awesome!
I really wish we got a white stone as well, that is not quartz. Not the one with geodes but one with full set of blocks, like stairs and slabs. But you're right, just the wood opens up a lot of pallets because how universal the black to white is in building. Just look the revolution that took place because of tough and deepslate.

@@Armageddon_71You're right the white parts are stucco
I hope there's a bit more of a reason to go to the pale garden, it looks cool already but I wish there was a bit more than just a new wood type, especially as this biome's main threat is only active at night
i think there will be a reason to, it's just not finished. Everything they show at minecraft live is completely finished feature
I assume no other mobs but the creaking spawn on the pale garden, so you could burn one and make a mob proof base
Something I saw on the official video was a suggestion for a mushroom that looks like the creaking eyes. If they would only spawn on pale oak grown in that biome, I think that would be a great reason to go there.
@@enn1924 most depressing location for a base

I really like the Creaking and the Pale Garden, though I have some criticisms:
- I think the damage it does is too low.
I'm guessing they don't want to make it too strong because it's a mob you might have to deal with early on since it spawns on the surface.
I'd like the echo shards to have another use!
I got the impression that the thing they're protecting is their tree. Like they're a spooky kind of dryad.
@@mjdxp5688 you can just avoid it like you avoid soulsand valleys
if it's a Pale Garden, then maybe there should be a structure for the biome that is a sorta ruined garden, featuring unique bushes, flowers, and perhaps some new rare loot that the creeking mob would be protecting, and I agree with a lot of comments where there should be a fog for the biome, really up the creeps and low visibility aspects.

Kind of sad to get another vine and a moss variant. I was hoping a biome called "garden" would have different vegetation.
That would require Mojang to put effort into their content and that's not happening any time soon. Vegetation? Cooking/Food? Verticle slabs? Combat mechanics? Fletching table?

At 6:01 you can see that they grew some pale trees in the background and they just have the normal leaf color :(
One thing I noticed is that the pale oak tree isn’t just a dark oak tree re textured it’s a pale garden being generated over a dark oak forest. You can see acacia style pale oak trees in the distance meaning the biome will change based on where it generates
Now THIS would be really cool implementation. I hope you're accurate! Personally I would forgive the update if this is how it works.
i think this biome is incredible! only thing i wish was different would be an increased fog.. would really add to the horror vibe i think. maybe only when its raining?
It’d be cool if thunderstorms made it dark enough to spawn. That+daylight detectors would allow it players to more easily detect when storms start, unless they start at night.
Maybe only at night. There could be something interesting in those forests worth exploring like burried treasure but in form of grave and you would want to find it quick before night. Then as night starts fog would come and creakings appear (only you would need to make them really strong like mini wardens where they would 2 shot you in diamond+prot IV armor)
and a bit of a shape change on the trees since it should look unique and not like the dark oak

I'd love to see at which point Mojang took 5 years to do nothing but add a singular item to the game like you claim.
@@wyster14 The game doesn't need more items. In fact I think they should remove some of the horrendous bloat.
I like the drop, the concept is good. I do believe that it needs more polishing. The trees need to be more crooked and twisted like the creeking. The mob needs to do way more dmg, and have more animations. There has to be some unique items (that are useful) aside from the wood that you can get from this biome.
To increase the scare or eerie factor I’d suggest a few things
1. Constant Fog during the day and night
2. Have the Creaking deal more damage and make it faster

More plants, better trees, fog induced at night by f.e. mist-ferns or fog-burdock, crows/ravens/magpies
The big problem is that the pale garden seems like the trial chamber (which required a year of dev to improve). If this is a drop, then this means that the pale garden won't get the time it needs and i feel sad cause this biome is cool, but you have no readon to stay there more than 5min.
@@plume_grise3044I mean I don’t know about you, but I personally love the idea of clearing out an area in the middle of the forest and building a spooky mansion or dilapidated house there, it gives a sorta “you can’t leave until the sun rises” vibe, a trope some horror stories like to take on
@lookash3048 I think that just adds too much and make it way too busy, taking away from the scare factor.

So that way people have time to react and learn the mechanic then any mess up afterwards is there own fault and they die from it
sigh. Your idea of a reason to go there can differ from another player’s. Not every feature in the game needs to help beat the game
I would make it hit for 8 HP on first hit and 6 later.

I think it’d be cool if they made creaking variants for all the different wood types that only show up if you put the creaking heart between the other log types, since it doesn’t naturally spawn anywhere outside of the pale garden. I do wish we get a creepy looking flower/mushroom to add more vibes to the biome.
Similar variations like with the bog would be good
I really like the concept of the Pale Gardens and the Creaking, but I think it needs quite alot more to be improved on... Here would be 10 changes I would add to the Pale Garden to make it perfect:
1 - make the Grass Blocks more grey-ish and the dirt as well, or just have like a Black and White filter over blocks when you are in the Pale Garden
2 - Let's make the tree's taller (like really tall, like 20 or 30 blocks tall), and more eerie, have them look more like weeping willows to add to the creepy vibe, and maybe have roots that come out from the trees for aesthetic
3 - We need to add to the aesthetic so I suggest we add some unique fauna, here would be the three ideas I have for new plants:
- First we have a mimicking type of plant. This plant would be around 2 - 2 1/2 blocks tall, it would look similar to the Creaking and be a sort of mimicking plant to add to the aesthetic
- Secondly, let's add a plant that acts like a trap of sorts.
6 - Let's add a few new mobs, I think four more would be a good balance to give it a unique feel:
- First lets add a ghost like mob. Banshee's when killed would drop Banshee essence,
- Let's add another land mob, idk what I would call this mob, but it would be a mob that crawls around using to extremely long arms, with no legs, and would have a large gaping mouth. (Only one spawns at a time)
- The third addition I suppose would be called a Man-Eater. (when killed they drop Raw Meat, and Man-Eater hide (explained later in the comment)
- Finally, I think a mob that lurks in the ground would be a good addition, lets call them a Seeker.
7 - As I mentioned before each mob I proposed, gives some sort of drop:
- Currently the Creaking doesn't drop anything, I say we change that.
(this also means that effects like poison potions and Dragon's Breath don't effect someone in this state, or Lava)
- The Man-Eater would drop Raw Meat which can be used as a food source similar to steak.
(this boss also drops XP and random loot like bones, spider eyes, emeralds etc, again random rewards for each one killed)
8 - Now we have alot of ambience and feel to the Pale Gardens biome, but why go there?
@@SebastienGendron-uk4po I really like that idea, that would be a fun concept!
4:53 reminds me of the Dutch game: "Annemaria Koekoek". It's similar to red light, green light. Only the person has to turn around instead of saying red light/green light.
I wish they made a new tree instead of re-coloring the Dark Oak though
what else are they gonna do most biomes have the same tree generation
It has different textures as well, so it is a new tree.
@@JustSomePancake Actual willow tree would be amazing.
My guess is they were like "We have Oak, Dark Oak, why not Pale Oak" and the trees need to be thick so the Creaking heart isn't fully exposed.
They could've made them a bit more origianl tho, just saying.
@@SisyphusSRBThe water in the biome is bright blue still so I imagine they are still fine tuning some stuff and the tree generation is using dark oak because they are still working on how the willow tree generation may work and they didn't have it ready in time for minecraft live

As a horror fan I love things like The Warden and now The Creaking it's so awesome I love the sound design of it Mojang always nails the sound design, kind of reminds me of The Ritual how the Creature blends in with the Trees, I also love that you have to destroy its heart, that's going to be fun for making games, I'm working on a big game that's a mix of Zelda, Decked Out, and Speedrunning and this'll be perfect in the Forest Area
The white wood is also a huge Win, I really need it in my City
People in this community love to hate on them for anything and everything, but I don't think there's ever been a 'bad' update they always had something awesome some better than others but each addition is very much appreciated and loved

@@pieklik3133 Yep, and there is likely to be a weeping angel mod/texture pack the day this is released.
If they can make the creaking something like that, maybe make the creaking hearts be able to be crafted into an oar upgrade that makes boats travel faster (or some other upgrade like swift sneak), it would be great in my opinion.

really looking forward to the new wood set :)
The wood and variants look absolutely gorgeous. And the creaking seems really interesting and unique. I love how they're adding new unique gameplay aspects
The creaking mob looks like that one wool/carpet block from the Halloween 2015 mashup pack..
This is a super cool concept, but not enough is in the pale garden to make it worthwhile to go there, so i think there'll be a special structure that'll spawn there as well
That is 100% not going to happen.
I'm excited for the new biome and wood and the new mob. It's so freaky, I hate and love the way it moves

@@elijahvillegas1370except I'm pretty sure that's backwards, and bundles of bravery will drop soon, probably October, and the creaking will follow later, probably December.
8:21 I don't think the leaves will keep their pale texture outside of the biome, look at the trees in that scene
It would also stall the player a little bit, making it harder to escape before nightfall, and giving you less time during the day to gather wood, adding a little panic factor as well
@@aterrariaPlayer492 They should use the blindness effect in this biome, I'm telling you
they couldve just make it another type of enderman😢
@@aterrariaPlayer492 That's a great idea that works with how it already functions.
The Creaking isn't a threat, you can easily survive multiple hits even without armor. If they don't wanna create a second phantom they need to make it stronger. Also why would you need to keep an eye on it if you can just outrun it? It also needs to be faster.
Enderman at home for sure.
Oh my god, it really is the enderman but worse in literally every possible manner! L O L
Of course not, they're just playing tag.
White wood is kinda neat. Means we can make light wood builds without Birch now.
Would be cool if the creaking dropped wood because then there'd be an easier automatic wood farm that doesn't rely on TNT duping.
We don't have grey planks tho, we have many grey blocks but no planks sadly, so I would say the problem is that we don't have those specific grey blocks
@@miimiiandcoyes finally white planks, although I did not expect it be an oak, I was thinking it will be pines or maple or even willows
The one thing I desperately hope for is them adding a high chance of abandoned villages spawning inside the gardens, maybe even a very rare case of also spawning a very damaged golem or an iron block in the floor with a poppy next to it.
a place so grey the sky doesn't even look blue anymore? I can't believe they made Slough into a Minecraft biome
We should just get an update with nothing but logs. Just give us more logs in more colors. It'd be better than all this foreplay!

The biome's aesthetics are a genuine and sincere reflection of the amount of soul Minecraft has lost since 1.16.

the leaves should stay white outside of the biome
Personally I think that the garden as it currently stands has a lot of potential to be interesting, it would be really cool if they could also use it to expand on the archeological updates
Maybe in the garden we can sweep through dead leaf piles and find new sherds that are themed to the creaking or the garden itself
Adding in fog would be very interesting, I also think this place having some dark haze in general at night to blot out the sky would be cool, also a great opportunity to add back on the fireflies to jusr light up the scary darkness
Give the garden more vegetation and honestly remove the mobs that can spawn in it or make the creaking hostile to anything and everything if there isn’t a player in sight
I also think structures would be really cool in the garden, anything from towers to get above the canopy to just ruined walls from those who attempted to brave it before us, this update could be very very interesting but it’s entirely up to mojang to do it justice and not produce something half baked and boring

@@mikebest9857 ok so sculk...
So it just behaves like a Mario Bros' Boo.
Ideas i have that could add more spectacle to the biome -
- For a biome called the Pale garden, they have the pale part down but nothing screams out garden.
I know I'm saying all this knowing Mojang does add new stuff to the update in the snapshots and i know there are many factors I'm unaware of behind the scenes that affect their decision making but my honest reaction to the first reveal of the new pale garden biome was, 'That's it?' ..
the pale woodset with the sakura wood set would look GORGEOUS

I’ve had the same error. I can’t find the exact post but I believe a while back one of the devs comment they don’t look at the feedback page anyway.

I’m placing bets on the creaking being released October 31st for halloween
I like features showed, new mob sounds very fun, only things I have to say are:
1 maybe make Creakings stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV for example.
2 Never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks added through last updates but other colors need some love, purple especially
3 Intense fog at night in this biome so atmosphere would be more sinister
4 Maybe some small structure that would spawn every time in this biome, now hear me out: Grave - it would be small grave with statue and chest with some specific loot for it, so imagine someone walking into pale gardet looking for grave only to become scared of night approaching as he tries to leave with loot.
The first one ruins the main point of the mobs counter. They spawn on mass and the only way to get rid of them is to break eyesight with them constantly. Just watch the mini game at the end and you will see that they got low on health extremely often.
@@moewCalv but they had no armor, and I think results like that should be with diamond armor + maybe prot II

Honestly pretty cool
I guess my only criticism is, do we really need another grayscale block set? What if you could dye the pale oak the standard 16 colors?
Grey is the absolutely most over-represented color in the game. And now we get EVEN MORE of it.
