I honestly don't understand why people got mad at the bamboo block being yellow on the top It's almost like bamboo is green on the outside, but yellow on the inside??
I like how many of these prove that Bedrock is not an "inferior" version as many old-school players try to make it out to be. Each has its own bonuses.
An abyss biome actually sounds nice Since the caves and cliffs update We can have a really deep ocean In a perfect world we'd even get the mob that lost to the phantom It would be like a deep dark under water and give a reason to bring water breathing, conduits, or tridents
About the bamboo blocks, I can confirm that the old blocks are like the freshly cut bamboo, but if you build smth with it, then it turns yellow with age(the park near my house has a lot of bamboo growing, idk why, it’s weird)

To be honest, redesign is one of the best things minecraft did. The game looks cleaner and if anyone disagrees it's either an opinion or he's drowned in nostalgia
I think this is really a narrow perspective, it's two different art styles, frankly. A lack of blocks at the time bred creativity, along with the old lighting engines no matter what you built as long as it was a combination of 2 or more blocks, it would look good. Now, you need to have a gigantic block pallet (and tons of time to actually get these blocks) to have anything you build look impressive or nice (Not to mention needing shaders). There's no better art style, it's just down to personal preference. (Fun fact: Notch actually avoided hiring an artist to work on the game since he, and the small community at the time, loved his poor programmer art. I can't help but feel this modernization was a decision of new Mojang employees or Microsoft)
16:13 you also can use a enchanted book with fire aspect or a sword with that enchantment to light up campfire. Idk if they did it for candles too tho, never tried that one.
12: you can say NOTHING, NOTHING against the old glass texture. It is iconic and can not be replaced by anything, it is one of the things that always gives me nostalgia.
@@rapidkraken2638 so youre saying you actively look out of your windows, and that the little pixels on the old glass texture that HARDLY block your vision matter?
I think that while the new totem looks nicer, the unsettling vibe the old texture gives off really jives with the arcane and borderline lovecraftian artifact implied with the totem of undying
The pig dropping brown mushrooms is a reference to truffle farming. Truffles can’t be farmed by humans so they have to be farmed the old way, gathering/foraging. Pigs are the only untrained animal that can sniff them out naturally. Other animals can be trained but pigs still hold the gold medal for finding them best.
I have a very unique building style I have been implementing into my buildings in my new Minecraft city: Outside corners and roof: some sort of log, much like Minecraft village houses. Exterior walls: wood planks, different species than roof. Interior floor height: 5 blocks. Interior walls: oak planks, with one row of dark oak planks at the bottom. Windows: clear glass panes, with one row of white stained panes on top, usually 3 blocks tall. Interior floor/ceiling: spruce planks. Exterior floor porch: stone brick. Doors: oak. Shutters: oak trapdoor. Really, it looks like a super-sized Minecraft village house in different colors. They’re usually 2 stories tall, based off American kit home floor plans from the early 20th century. So they have a bunch of separate rooms like a lot of older homes.
21:48 imo I definitely enjoy being able to see in the ocean, but when it used to be so much darker it was more realistic and eerie. Woulda been cool if we had ocean mobs then besides squids
6:40 quickly want to mention that I very much miss those old glass mirror mazes you'd find on creative plot servers. glass block mechanics had it so you couldn't view the full block- just the face nearest to you; and any face of glass beyond that also could not be seen. it was a sight whenever i'd see glass castles, lavas suspended in glass, and mostly, those creative mazes featuring walls on walls of glass you could not see.
I think a cool idea for the next update should be collectible villager outfits! Or pieces of their outfits like the swamp villager hats or the snow villager coats!!!
