- Most people pop pimples either with their fingers or some kind of extractor. Pimple patches have become super popular in recent years. They are placed on the pimple and claim to suck the impurities out. Smacne's Sticks and Patches claims to do one better. It comes with a small needle that is used to prick the whitehead, allowing the contents to get sucked out by the pimple patch.
Insider producer Celia Skvaril tried one on a whitehead to see if it was able to pop the pimple. She also spoke with Dr. Mona Mislankar about the safety of using a needle at home.

Whitehead-Popping Kit Comes With A Needle To Drain Fluid | The Zit Fix | Beauty Insider - Хобби
I'm concerned with the amount of needles that will be reused, and then not disposed of in a sharps container
I suppose if rubbing alcohol is used afterwards, it should be ok.
@@cbryce9243 It doesn't guarantee the inside of the needle will be cleaned. And popping a whitehead with a needle that's filled with old bacteria is a big no. Better be safe than sorry!
@@Yoyocreative it's not a hypodermic needle, it's not hollow, it's literally a solid piece
It's not dangerous to use a metal tool on your body, just because you've used it before.
That's dumb.
SHARING them with junkies is what's dangerous. Because they don't clean themselves or anything, and they have viruses.
I've always thought a mini syringe would be a great idea, pop the pimple by puncturing it,keep the syringe there, then simply pull back on the plunger and draw all the infection out.
Goo is usually too thick to get sucked it.
Doesn't work that way, pus is too thick for a needle the size they used, you'd need a bigger hypodermic
the eyebrow pimples & under the skin pimple are the worst.. they are painful 😣
Same with hairline ones 😭
That sounds more like a boil.
@@cbryce9243 no what the commenter is referring to is actually a type of acne called "cystic acne" . This is when the pores are clogged underneath the skin layer so the inflammation feels like it is under the skin. They are usually huge and painful and take much longer to go away than a pimple that's on the surface.
So I’ve tried popping pimples by hand followed by a face wash, using a needle + face wash and not popping at all (waiting for pimples to dry out by themselves). I did this more like an experiment. The hand popping method actually resulted in the least acne scarring and quickest healing compared to other methods. Worst method is leaving the pimple alone which took forever to heal, made the pimple spot much bigger and scar took ages to go away. So I have no idea why people say we shouldn’t pop our pimples. But hey do your own experiment and figure out what works best for your skin.
If I were going in with a needle I wouldn't make it to the patch stage - those babies would be squeezed beyond hope
yall its literally so much cheaper to buy generic hydrocolloid bandages(bigger squares or smaller circles), generic lancets, and a sharps container(hell use a cleaned out plastic milk jug) than it is to buy whatever this is and get some hibiclens or another antiseptic wash to be extra safe
ive had like 12 abcesses 10 of which were on my face and neck in the last year because im a picker with terrible impulse control do YOU want to get iv antibiotics in an er??? DO YOU???
I have the same issue. I can't help but pick at times especially when either very stressed or depressed. Also, boredom triggers it as well. When I lose my impulse control and go for it I end up with scabs all over arms and face occasionally for days. It sucks.
As someone who mainly gets cystic acne.... cystic acne patches are a game changer. Using them can make an under skin zit go away in a few days aposed to weeks
The tissue wiped the excess, the patch didn't do much. She should have wiped it off first
I use hydrocolloid bandages on my cystic acne all the time
Hey sis!!!!! They actually make specific patches for cystic acne. They are a bit more pricey and harder to find but OMG they are life changing. There is micro needles on the patch that gets the acne fighting agent deeper into the skin. They can make a cystic pimple go away in a day or 2!!!!! I mostly get cystic acne and these help so much. You can look online or go to an ulta to find them. Mighty patch has some actually
@@kelsey2333 good to know, thanks, I'll look for some, any brand suggestions?
Don't! Have a dermatologist do this (says the woman with 1000 popped pimples on her face...)
Who can afford or has the time to see a dermatologist every time they have a pimple…
Just use diabetic needles
Yup a 32G 6mm needle would work just the same
that's smart an i have plenty of those i'm gonna try
Use a lancet not a hypodermic needle
@@emilymulcahy That's exactly what i have too
I think that this causes more harm than good. We can all agree that touching our faces is bad. Squeezing pimples are even worse. Pimples should be left alone and heal them selfs or be treated by a specialist. The worst thing someone can do is using a non-sterile needle with zero experiance and pierce them 😵💫
The point of the kit is that it is a sterile needle
Poking a pimple doesn’t require a medical degree,y’all have been absolutely brainwashed by big pharma
Buy diabetic lancets instead
If you use a fine needle, poke the pimple, then take the outside of a pen (get rid of the ink part), and gently push it over the pimple, the pus will come out. Just make sure that you soak everything and wipe the counter, for a few minutes with 90% alcohol.
The best way to get rid of pimples is to wash your face, stop eating sugary foods and drinks, and don't touch your face when your hands are dirty.
Food has little to do with acne, the rest you said was solid advice, but don't use pens, office/stationary supplies are some of the dirtiest things in your home
@@emilymulcahy Food has little to do with acne, but "stop eating sugary foods and drinks" is still good advice for your general health.
@@Laz3rCat95 I will agree with that, but this was a video and a comment on acne and zits, so you're mostly off topic
