Thank you I think learning major scales by step numbers as 2-2-1-2-2-2-1 is easier for a lot of people to memorize, mainly because our brains are already used to memorizing phone numbers. BTW, the phone number for minor scales is 2-1-2-2-1-2-2. If you follow these patterns starting at any note and follow down the string, you can easily play all major and minor scales.
