& everyone talks about how the eastern block wasn't represented in 84... but to be fair, we weren't allowed to be there in 1980, thus no Lee Kemp, etc...
Really beautiful wrestling singlets. They look great, MUCH better than the ones nowadays ... they are much more functional, look extremely sexy, show the muscular bodies and are super comfortable to wear. I wish this style would come back for wrestling.
There was a discussion at the time about illegal holds by the Schultz brothers. Watch the earlier match, the disqualification and I think it was deserved. Both Dave and Mark Schultz came out of international battles with Russia and Iran. They pressed the limits of what put joints under pressure, what was just legal and sometimes what crossed a line.
Never cared for freestyle or Greco roman. I see no reason for points awarded for simply rolling someone over. It's supposed to be a combat sport. How in any way can rolling someone and not trying to improve your position for a pin (or submission if doing real grappling) be considered a point making move? It's stupid
@@KevinSmith-hx1zcExactly. You have a similar size opponent resisting a maneuver. Being able to execute the maneuver is an exhibition of domination via the application of technique and power. Yeah you're not gonna "roll" someone like that in more realistic combat unless you're trying to humiliate them, but the skill and power required to execute the move will 100% contribute to other combat sports.
I understand why you feel that way... but when you do it alone, you adapt to the feel of it, in a sense, it's like learning a different language... But I do think folkstyle is the most difficult style, requires you to be in the more serious shape.
We had a strong team in '84 and it was no easy feat to win a medal, but I wish the USSR was there. That would've been the true test.
They could never take that away from you.
Flashback in the 80's
Wow total domination.
What an athlete
Fantastic performance
Is there any chance that you can find the final from 82kg draica vs thanopoulos?

wow...I can't get over how bad everyone wanted the Schultz brothers to lose...smh...faking injuries and all that crap...

Are you a chick?
Jesus Christ💀
sexualizing athletes is degenerate behavior. let them enjoy their sport without your perversions.
1:58 imagine being too overly aggressive in wrestling.

Oh, my, domination situation!!
Is the black coach Bobby Douglas?
Sure is
DOMINATION
Crazy to think if Japan had of won, Dave Schults will still be alive today.
What?😂
Wut? 😂
that's probably true
Schultz was the best. Absolute monster.
Should be 2 points for a takedown and 4 points for back exposure. SMH
Simple back exposure is a shit move and should NOT be awarded points. Only near pins as in folk. Freestyle scoring is stupid

I guess because it's just a flex, like a power move
