I have one. I use it to mow 19 to 22 lawns per day 5 days a week. I already owned a lot of dewalt products have 5 of the 9ah batteries so it made a lot of sense to go with it. Its been a full year this past march 2023, and still going strong.

@God enough power to get the job done. Just make sure you have enough batteries and a good charging system. I have plenty of batteries and an inverter to charge on the go.

9 months after your comment - How do you feel about your DeWalt trimmer? Any problems? I saw people mention in the reviews that the head and guard were low quality.

I started switching over from gas to electric about 5 years ago. I don't think I will ever purchase another gas burning engine again. The main thing is to keep it all in one family so you can interchange the batteries. I have three batteries now and by the time I get to the third one the first one is charged back up.

I have the 60 volt trimmer as well. I got it for the same reasons. Trying to maintain the gas-powered motors and simplicity for my wife. We both love it. 2 seasons now. I have alot of the dewalt 60 volt tools, so it made sense for us.

I was able to get 16 yrs out of my ECHO trimmer. It just died and I'm looking at the 60V Max. Great review for the common home owner! I'm in the same boat. Being able to quickly trim around the shed while throwing something on the grill while watching the Phillies beat the Braves is what I'm looking for. LOL

Got this line trimmer for lawn care work. Edged and trimmed 7 lawns with it and still had 2 bars left and it didn't go down to 2 bars until the 6 property was finished. Ran it on low power and was more than enough to edge walk ways and trim around trees. It's motor is extremely loud next to the ear and had to use ear pro. This line trimmer looks to be a solid purchase!!

Best upgrade you can ever do to Dewalt DCST972 is to install a ECHO: 99944200907B speed feed head on it. The Dewalt speed feed head is troublesome and cheap. It screws right onto it, no adapters to mess with and figure out, and is only like 25 bucks. BTW great review! 👍

I believe the alcohol in the gas ruined all the small engines. There was never this problem years ago till they started adding it to the gas.My opinion

Great review Jack. I first got the ECO trimmer , then the blower, and this year I bought the mower. I love it! I didn’t get the battery with the mower as I already had two. They aren’t the bigger ones, but work fine to do my yard.

I got mine today from Amazon I also purchased a sling for it string in an extra battery an extra head. I'm glad that I bought model of DeWalt. I'll never go back to a two-stroke gas weed wacker. Oh my God had together and minutes later I was testing it out.😊 Very comfortable hand grips easy to operate. One thing I don't miss the gasoline one always trying to get it at the right speed without bogging out in the motor stalling sometimes after pulling it so many times get it re started. I really felt any vibration. With the sling easy to control going back and forth motion. I would recommended it.

I got one of these. In a short amount of time the line feeder died. Hear that is pretty common with this tool. Fix is echo speed head line feeder bolts right on. Nice video.

This attachment capable Dewalt 60v is compatible with “rotary scissors”. Rotary scissors means u will never have to replace string ever again!

I hate any tool that has to have oil and gas mixed. They drove me nuts and I consider myself handy when it comes to engines. Replaced the one in my jeep before.

Thanks yak , battery is the way to go,, battery lawn mowers, shut the Briggs and Stratton plant down in Auburn Alabama,, and you were 100 percent , every year I would go to cut grass and the lawn mower would not start, and the weed eater, maybe 2 years in a row, it adds up and the aggravation of pulling and pulling, and like my drill and other tools 2 battery's last most jobs

  • @averageeverydayfishermansh4501

Good Stuff Jack. My son has an electric lawn mower, weedeater, and blower and he really likes them. They do what he needs. I have a bit of a bigger yard and I am not sure the lawnmower would do my whole yard but I am thinking about the weedeater and blower pretty seriously this year. Although my gas weedeater is still going strong so maybe I will wait until it dies. LOL!

My 20volt craftsman “weed eats” my whole yard 1/3 acre. Fence line around the backyard, edging the sidewalk and driveway, around the house and deck and then dies immediately after that. But it cuts what I need, and if it’s thick weeds my tool batteries can be used on it as well.

Very hesitant on buying another DeWalt 60v weed eater. My current one was running strong last summer when I bought it! Picked it up this spring and it was dead. The gears are fine, the wires are not burnt up, and the battery works with my chainsaw and blower. Idk if it's the motor or the motherboard. No one where I live works on them, DeWalt won't help me and home Depot won't help because it's been a year and is out of warranty. I loved it when it worked, lasted one summer and that was it. Sure do hate it and don't know what to do, I don't have much to trim and it was so convenient. I might end up buying another with a 3 year protection plan to be safe.

Great review Jack..just one question from me would be weight...I have an Echo gas trimmer and due to health issues decided to opt to battery powered instead and bought a Milwaukee battery powered weed eater and my only issue is that the weight exceeds that of the gas trimmer. And the other issue is an additional battery for it is $140. So as in all things my health has improved and I use my electric for front yard and the Echo everywhere else😉👌🔧

Stop using ethanol mixed gasoline in your 2stroke engines. 99.999% of the time they just need the carb. cleaned. Use 100% gasoline for your 2stroke mix.

Went to my local Stihl dealer today. For the bottom line Pro (Not commercial) I was pushing 300 without a single battery or charger since they're sold separately. A decent battery and charger jumped the price another 250. Add local tax and we're at about 600. About the only real advantage is that I could install the blade fingers . I expected the Stihl to run higher, but I left suffering from a bit of sticker shock.
