Well he's leading an entire organization and trying to get as much data and power to awaken Dialga and Palkia as possible. Asol: *Dialga used Roar of Time*
Cyrus: "If you fail to beat me, I will use the power of the red chain (crafted from the essence of the spirits of emotion, willpower and knowledge) to shackle the deities of time and space to erase the universe then rebuild it without the concept of spirit!". Me: "You're 27!?!" Giratina: "Ikr!?!" (que jumpscare).
Arceus's thousand arms materialize around the team Galactic boss, the one who seeks to unmake his universe, and start patting him gently on the head. A booming divine voice echos, "Awww, who's a good widdle nihilist? It's you! Yes you are, yes you are! Does Bossy-wossy want a treeeeeeeeat?"
Oh yeah. I mean in Platinum, that he blows up at you and starts screaming at you in anger is essentially the last nail in the coffin of his plan. He can't be the perfect god he thinks he has to be, because he's always going to have this anger in him that he can't get rid of.
My first ever Pokemon game was Pokemon platinum, and so Cyrus will always be the best villain in my opinion. I remember bringing some of my Pokemon from Platinum into ultra sun and making sure they were in my party when we fight Cyrus, so he remembers the 10 year old who kicked his team's ass the first time and that were hungry for round 2
Not to disappoint you but the cyrus from usum (as well as the rest of the villains) comes from an alternative universe where his plan succeeded, therefore your character lost against him
Assuming a Diamond and Pearl remake is inevitable, I hope they explore Cyrus's character a bit more, all we really know about him is that he has a disdain for... Everything? xD
Cyrus is a character who does not understand his emotions. He thinks it's irrational and useless, and more importantly, thinks that it only _hurts_ him. All of this got him to believe the world is awful because of emotions, that the world would be better without it. So he made it his Life goal to create a world without emotions. In other words, he's like Dr House: it's a very rational person, but when it comes to the heart, he understands none of it and actually _fears_ it. All this is in the game (although it is subtle). I wouldn't be against more character development of course, but for a Pokemon character, it was already quite deep xD.
I mean, if I remember right he does say that he views his Pokémon not as tools but as extensions of himself... so if that's the one place affection leaks out of him, it kind of makes sense. Especially since he DOES have emotions, he just does his best to suppress them.
Team Galactic will always be my favorite evil team, mainly because they were the first and in some cases only real *evil* team. Team Rocket was basically just the mafia, Aqua/Magma were a bit more serious but still kinda goofballs in my opinion. Team Galactic destroyed national monuments and held the GODS hostage. Plus they must have held some level of official power given that they had a presence on the surface like the buildings in Vilestone and Eterna.
Galatic and Plasma are the most dangerous Villain groups out of all of them. They both carry an immense amount of influence on the regions they operate out of
When most people think of a battle so hard it scarred your mind and gives you flashbacks to this day on Pokémon Platinum, they usually refer to Cynthia. To me, it's not even close. It's Cyrus on the Distortion World. My 9 y/o ass, after struggling for an hour with the puzzles there, got thrown into an encounter with five fully evolved Pókemon nearing level 50 and great distributed coverage with just two appropiately leveled Pókemon, a Torterra and a Luxray, and four level 20 or so sacrifices. My bag only had 1 full restore and 2 revives. Torterra was as ill-suited for this battle as it could be, with the ace being an Ice type and everything running either poison, flying or fire. Luxray was slow and always took a hit before attacking, plus his only attacking moves were Thunder and Crunch. To make things worse, the attacks I had left so many enemies on red, triggering full restores and achieving nothing. I spent 3 hours fishing for a battle where so many enemy attacks missed at so many crucial moments and so many attacks of mine critted so that they didn't trigger full restores, just because I didn't wanna go back and re-do the puzzles. It was entirely my fault, and I am fully aware of that. But to this day, I still remember it so vividly. Thank you, Falkkone, for this cover. And for bringing out my childhood memories again. :')
You know, for a guy who is seemingly emotionless and only wants to remove the world of all emotion, he cares for his Pokémon a surprising amount. Either way, great cover, you nailed this!
Few weeks ago, I've restarted my Platinum game and I'm in the Distortion World right now. Listen this make me feel inside that world again. Thanks ! It's one of my favorite battle theme against a Boss.
Once again, I listen to the original version of a song, and the next day, you upload the remix of this song. I'm pretty sure you hacked my browsing history just to make me the happiest man.
Ayy, I'm early! 5 minutes after this got uploaded, that's record time! Also, I'm glad you did the platinum version, not the version from the rainbow rocket episode in usum, this version is my favourite!
@@Rigter9029 Fair enough but lets remember this is also after that psychic guy Lucian. For some reason I always struggle with the psychic type people in the older games.
Daily reminder that Cyrus has been known to excel at manipulation of people's emotions. I mean he was able to rally the entirety of Team Galactic at one of his speeches, and he couldn't care less about any of the grunts. A Golbat wouldn't be too hard to fool in the search for a significantly stronger Pokémon for his team.
@@elita-2 It's really much harder to fool an animal into loving, supporting, and forming a bond with you than a human, though. They can sorta sense bad vibes. Why do you think Ghetsis' Hydreigon knows Frustration? Plus there's the fact that the only ways to increase happiness are using them in battle, feeding them Pokeblocks/Poffins/treats/Pokebeans, not letting them faint too often, traveling with them everywhere, and as of Gen 6, playing with and petting them. Even if he's pretty cold, he clearly cared enough about his pokemon that it evolved from the attention it received.
Well of course he's a poser. How anybody who uses that many exclamation marks in his speech ever managed to convince anybody that he has no emotions is beyond me.
I still play platinum. Have a few copies of it with multiple dates (my fav pokemon game lol) every time I battle Cyrus, I play this version. Just to boost my confidence a little lol
is it emotional enough?
God this fight Gave me chills
It's nostalgic
That sounds so fking good. Thank you once again for the Nostalgia Trip
This was the first dude that defeated me in Pokémon Platinum.
Thanks for good memories :)
You work with advantage here, my first poke games where fourth gen
This man is in his 20, but looks like he is in his late 40's
Being a villain is a stressful job it seems
I was shocked when I read somewhere that he was 27
Well he's leading an entire organization and trying to get as much data and power to awaken Dialga and Palkia as possible.
Asol: *Dialga used Roar of Time*
I wonder how time flows in the Distortion zone... Maybe time flows 6 times longer than in our time, or the opposite...
Meanwhile Lusamine is over 40 and looks on her 20s
He’s got depression
"We live in a society with too many emotions." -Cyrus 2020
Yes, but actually the problem here is that we live in a society.
*proceeds to send out a team composed of all the clown themed pokemons*
we live in society
_
so it makes natural sense to wipe the whole fucking universe out with society
- cyrus 2020
Why isn't this a reply to the first comment?
Cyrus: "If you fail to beat me, I will use the power of the red chain (crafted from the essence of the spirits of emotion, willpower and knowledge) to shackle the deities of time and space to erase the universe then rebuild it without the concept of spirit!".
Me: "You're 27!?!"
Giratina: "Ikr!?!" (que jumpscare).
I'm 32. He has only gotten more relatable with time.
He deserves a remake where he gets to directly confront Arceus.
Nihilist vs. God, my, how epic.
You mean where Arceus confronts him directly?
It doesn’t matter if he went down or up.
But its more poetic that he instead Meets Giratina, because for all his talk he cant see whats good when its right in front of him
Wow, I never knew Cyrus had this much emotion hidden beneath that cold surface.
the emotion is raw unfiltered rage but still.....
Oh yeah. I mean in Platinum, that he blows up at you and starts screaming at you in anger is essentially the last nail in the coffin of his plan. He can't be the perfect god he thinks he has to be, because he's always going to have this anger in him that he can't get rid of.

ac585318 They kinda did that, there’s a shack in the desert on Battle Island that belonged to Cyrus’s Grandad
Sounds like depression to me. Take it from someone who is living through it.

Don't worry, they will sure add it with a 60$ dlc 😂
And that he is somehow 27
Cyrus has a Crobat, which needs happiness to evolve from Golbat. This guy's Pokemon contradicts himself.
*cornered theme starts playing*
Happiness grows when you walk with your Pokemon
He must have walked miles
Mans never skipped leg day
I mean, he could have stole it. That’s what evil Pokémon organizations do.

in the manga, team galactic were actually scary, especially since the manga characters aren’t exactly invincible.
Galatic and Plasma are the most dangerous Villain groups out of all of them. They both carry an immense amount of influence on the regions they operate out of
Epic, galactic, and glorious. This three words describe this cover.
God damn you’ve been on one hell of a Pokémon streak. Everything you’ve been pumping out has been 10/10.
This especially
A fight determining the destruction and creation of a universe. And a cover that fits this special occassion.
Pokémon getting a super intense and dark plot driven movie, NOT including Ash, and having music like this when??
Well, there is Xenoverse...
@@Mythol-OG thats a dbz game?

When you got a symphonic metal cover already but still not a single series remake
Yes thank you!!!! This needs to be in the Sinnoh remakes!!!
We need something like this for Ghetsis theme.
Cyrus, the leader of the criminal organization Team Galactic. Proceeds to have his entire team defeated before the entirety of his theme plays.
He was sooooooo easy to beat.....exept that damn houndoom. Destroyed Torterra every time

Don't go destroy the universe, okay? :)
I'm concerned about the way his arm is bending. Is he okay?
Just look at his face! He's a JoJo villain, wonky body parts won't stop him from being menacing
No but not because of his arm.
He uses palkias Power for that

I would love to see your take on Ghetsis' battle theme after hearing this!
Cyrus: emotions are useless
Me: then why you have a crobat?
That beginning horn honestly supprised me XD it was so epic
I'm loving this influx of Pokemon covers!
Ah Cyrus, the Pokemon villain bent on world destruction before it was cool. I really should replay platinum someday.
