I would say it's always best to go and experience a place for yourself instead of going by what others are saying. Everyone has different perspectives and experiences. Just because they didn't like it doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy it. Also, things and places are always changing and evolving, nothing stays the same. I'm glad you gave AC a chance and enjoyed it. Great video!
Another beer opened and ready to go. Loving these so far especially your excellent walkabouts as I have never visited AC and loving you showing us up and down the boardwalk. Think I am going to learn a lot about places in the US that I have never visited. Great stuff Matt 👍👍🍺🍺
Some non gambling vlogs are always a nice diversion, I like the gambling and casino related videos but am also very interested in how you enjoy the trip and parts of America you are traveling through as well.
Great video! Been going to AC from 1988 to 2010. Im glad they repurposed Showboat…it was a favorite of mine with a great Noodle Bar in the High Limit Table area.
very nice AC vlog -- it is my favorite place... btw there is a way to walk from Borgata to Harrahs and from Harrahs to Golden Nugget... Also at Golden Nugget the Deck is a fun place -- they have bands and drinks and food. Next time !!!
I absolutely love your videos. I’m from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and every time I see you on vacation it just wants me to get to Vegas for AC so thank you for doing your videos and keep them coming.
Enjoy your videos. I love AC of course being a Jersey native. Wanted to let you know that you can walk to the three marina casinos. Borgata, Harrah's and Golden Nugget. There's a beautiful and scenic path called the Sculpture walk or Walk path in the back of the casinos.
@@MattBridger Funny! if it was a anyone other than an employee like a patron they most likely didn't know. But yes, you can walk it behind the Borgata and it's a good walk about two miles. Very historic and plenty of benches to watch the marsh and piers with plaques about the marsh. Also, the monopoly sand sculpture is homage to AC since the board game streets are from actual streets in AC. Don't know if you noticed while strolling the boardwalk.
Some AC history. Bounty Hunter w/ Jennifer Aniston has scenes in Taj Mahal and a store outside Resorts. The Steel Pier across Hard Rock is where there were diving horses (20s-70s). I remember many chickens at the Steel Pier that were in the video games and would play tic- tac- toe Against you after patrons put coins in.
you can walk to Harrahs from Borgata. There is a trail. Borgata does have their buffet open too. ( they r building a indoor waterpark by showboat) I luv AC too!! Been 4x's.
Nice tour of Atlantic City, Matt, I thought it was more run-down than you showed it, now get ready to put the miles on the car as your journey across America really begins!
Resorts has so much History I hope you did a walk about and recorded History from the Hotel being linked to to early 1900's back in Atlantic City's hey days it was originally called Haddeon Hall then in 1978 opened up as the 1rst Atlantic City's casino. Many celebrities such as Frank Sentara, Dean Martin Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross etc. It also holds the best Casino restaurant in the U S Capricco's for many years even beating out Vagas restaurant's
Looks like you fellas had a good time in Atlantic City. I’m glad the weather was good. I’m sure Suzanne would love to sit out on the beach maybe next time you bring her just a little over two hours into my trip take a little break and then I’ll watch Day 4.
Really enjoying these vlogs love that you show more than just the gambling AC is one place that would love to make it to . We have never went because we had heard it was run down and dirty but from what I have seen I will have to rethink it.
Atlantic City looks amazing. Definitely a place to add to our list with a few days in NYC. Thanks so much for sharing. Wishing you all the very best of luck as you travel west.
These vlogs are great Matt. You have inspired me to visit AC. Lifelong NH resident, visited Massachusetts and Connecticut casinos but never been to Atlantic city. Always thought it was dirty and sketchy but it looks very nice. Been to Turning Stone as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Back in the days when I would take a day bus trip to AC IMO it was “dirty and sketchy”. Based on what I’ve seen in these videos, would think about visiting again. I see they have that open train/tram on Boardwalk which is a major improvement. In early days they only had those foot or bicycle taxis on Boardwalk. Was really surprised to see they are no more but in these days where people don’t want to work imagine those human powered taxis would be no more. Showboat use to be where the biggest buffet was that attracted people. There was also a large bank of .05 (nickel) machines that were always 100% occupied.
That max Buffalo game is so strange and the way it was bouncing was making me laugh. Onto the next city where you will have better luck for sure! So happy you enjoyed AC.
The epic journey begins ! Niagra when you get there will bring back memories for me as it’s the one and only time I have visited a casino. Canadian dollars 💵
I'm so looking forward to watching this Epic road trip, casino action or not! I'm already tired for you 😂😂. Lots of casinos in so little time. May God keep you safe 🙏 in the road and enjoy the long rides! 😊 Here's to tons of jackpots along the way 😉
I visited in 2010 for a few nights using the ACE train from NYC. Sketchy in places and wouldn’t do too much of the boardwalk late at night. Would certainly revisit. Glad it seems to have recovered from the hurricane.
Very interested to see some of the sights along the way if you can’t film in the casinos. I see you have Harrah New Orleans on your list. Was in NO a few years ago and wandered in there. Didn’t win a thing but it’s a nice enough place.
Matt --- when you walked out of Showboat and were on your way to Resorts- - - right outside the door, children (and adults LOL) were frolicking in some kind of white stuff,,,, do you know what it was ? It resembled tissues or something , which I know it wasn't ,, did you notice or see it ?
Great Vlogs! Wish you were including a stop in Wisconsin (as your map shows) but I think the dot in Wisconsin is really the Indiana casino?? Anyway, good luck and safe travels!
I could never get into planet moola personally, I could never tell whats a good hit lol but i definitely want to try the more huff and puff! On to the next one Matt! Cheers
Yes showboat, and both trump casinos were really nice. I’m really glad AC didn’t totally crash. My first casino visit was about 1995 at harrahs marina and I won $700 on a three reel 777 game it was awesome.
Great series of vlogs Matt. Looking forward to seeing more and possibly sometime how much planning it all took you. We arrive in Las Vegas on 9 July, it would be great to meet up. Enjoy yourself
I know you're not a table games player but maybe ask Jules....what were the limits like on Blackjack? $15 minimums like Las Vegas, or were they cheaper? Thanks so much for taking us along on this grand trip.
It's a shame you didn't get to Harrah's on the marina. It's one of the nicer properties in AC and so much better than Harrah's in Las Vegas. Showboat was another nice property with a Mardi Gras theme. They had a House of Blues inside. Shame that Caesar's shut it down.
So you are going to Seneca Niagara...and not crossing over to the Canadian border to visit Casino Niagara and/or Fallsview Casino which are nearby (just over the border actually)?
It's always like that on Dragon Link. The Major caps out at $1000 for all denominations, but the Minor & Mini are specific to the denom being played. So for $1 it's $1250/$250.
I hate to say this, but I didnt want to interject and tell you Showboat is an ex-casino because that wouldn't be fun! Atlantic City's situation wasn't really the 08 crash as much as it was a period where the major operators in the US were running low on money and basically decided to screw Atlantic City instead of closing stuff in, say, Vegas. Showboat for example you might have learned on Wikipedia was actually profitable when Caesars decided to shutter it and concentrate on Caesar's Palace. Had a lot more to do with falling gaming revenues in Nevada + money being laid out to buy out other casinos + Macau expansion starting to find pitfalls with the government in China.
@@stevenminnerjr.7977 At least it's still there today in some fashion. It's actually become a hub of professional wrestling activity in the region if you're into that sort of thing.

I would argue that Resorts, was the first casino in AC.
Yes, Resorts opened in 1978 the first casino to open when gambling was legalized in NJ
