  • If you're wanting to hear the sounds of One Kit Wonder: Architects without any kind of backing and also learn some more information about the product, this video's for you!
    GGD One Kit Wonder: Architects is available now ▸▸▸ ggd.news/OKW-architects
    One Kit Wonder: Architects delivers the huge and punchy modern drum sounds that Architects drummer Dan Searle is famous for. So famous, in fact, that we’ve been getting requests for an Architects library for years!
    These samples are from the exact setup used for their recent record “For Those That Wish To Exist”, for which the drums were engineered by our founder Nolly. He then mixed the samples using similar techniques and tools to those used during the mixing of their prior album “Holy Hell”, so this One Kit Wonder represents the most recent era of Architects sound.
    Dan’s kit comprises a big kick drum and floor toms, with a tone-full single rack tom and hefty, low-tuned, dry snare. He plays quite an extensive array of fairly dark Zildjian cymbals, with big crashes, big hi-hats, some very cool FX cymbals, a pair of x-hats, and also an extremely crashable ride, something we know lots of GGD users have been calling out for.
    It’ll come as no surprise, to those in the know, that the Middle Farm Studios live room provides an exciting and enveloping ambience that you can turn up loud for rich and organic results without washing out the punch of the close mics.
    The samples in this pack are unashamedly heavily processed to give you a polished commercial sound, but the library was also recorded in more detail than any other of our releases to date. There’s an unparalleled dynamic range, which gives an extremely realistic result when playing on an e-kit or doing in-depth programming.
    Despite being a signature library, this kit is also going to be great for other styles like active rock and metalcore, even country-rock… anything that requires a combination of blunt, punchy drums with washy traditional-sounding cymbals and a killer room sound.
    It’s our hope that this sample library will remove frustrating barriers in your creative process so that you can enjoy making music to the fullest.

    I wish GGD would develop a way to find grooves and fills by tempo and feel like Toontrack products do. That's the main difference in efficiency and workflow.

    • @thefriedpiper
      @thefriedpiper 2 года назад +10

      Have to agree here. Plenty of times I'm feeling lazy when I "write" something then end up moving through the ridiculous number of grooves I have to find something close to what's in my head instead of just programming it myself...which I'm trash at...hence the ridiculous number of grooves.

      @@thefriedpiper yeah man. Totally understand what you are talking about. And 100% true. That's exactly what I go through. And GGD *has* to be aware of this lacking feature, these guys are super smart and thorough. They go to great lengths to pay attention to details.
      I just hope it's a matter of time they fix this and make their products easier to use.
      I would rather stay with GGD and the library I have created than start over with Toontrack products.

    How to make a sound of one stick hitting the other one to make a stick roll kind of things .
    And is it possible to mix OKW Architects to the drum sound of Architects new album ?

    • @phantomtearsca
      @phantomtearsca 2 года назад

      Not sure that first part is possible considering there's no stick hit sample. As for the second part, the drum set used here was the same one that was recorded for their latest album, but was processed to sound more like Holy Hell. Zakk Cervini mixed the latest Architects album and not Nolly, so you'd have to figure out how exactly Zakk does his mixes to get a similar sound (even though this kit is already pre-processed, you can still do some work of your own if you wish to).

    • @crysalistwo189
      @crysalistwo189 2 года назад +1

      It has a lot of processing but I assume there’s a preset where there’s very little processing. (Not completely raw but very little processing.)

    • @phantomtearsca
      @phantomtearsca 2 года назад +1

      If you avoid using the master EQ and parallel buttons and disable the reverb, you'll still get a processed sound but it's more malleable and workable to mix it yourself. You might also wanna zero out the master faders for each drum kit piece to make sure your levels are right within your DAW.

    • @GetGoodDrums
      @GetGoodDrums  2 года назад +12

      For our OKW series we keep the articulations as low as we reasonably can to keep the cost and install size down! You can program a flam very easily by placing two midi notes closely together. You want them to sound far enough apart that it sounds intentional but not too far so that it sounds like two seperate hits!
