Post-edit note: The black Chanrossa run has a large road-like section at the bottom that is a bit uphill; keep a lot of speed (La piste noir Chanrossa a une grande section en rue au bas qui est un peu en montée; conserve beaucoup de vitesse)

I'd probably argue that Deer Valley or Vail are far more expensive if you just compare daily expenses of that same activities, such as lodging , ski rentals, and lift tickets.

Lodging, dining, and shopping are what'll get you in Courchevel. A lot of it is paying for the name recognition. Courchevel's world famous for being the most expensive-everything from Gucci-wrapped gondola cabins (Jardin Alpin) to LV stores right next to the slopes

I was in Courchevel and 3 valleys this february just gone. Yeah, I wouldn't say it's cheap as chips. It's not. But it's still reasonably priced as far as holidays go. You don't have to sell a kidney to enjoy accommodation/gear/lifts/ski-passes/etc. I'm used to holidaying in the UK for instance, where every single activity (summer or winter, whatever time) the UK has to offer is extremely over-priced. I'd say if the UK had good ski resorts (which it doesn't have, I know, but you get my drift), everything they offer would be a lot more expensive compared to France or Italy, etc. Considering 3 Valleys is one of the very best ski areas in the world, it's not somewhere you have to be millionaire to be able to enjoy it. Far from it.

Oh, absolutely agreed. I'm just playing into the reputation of the resort, nothing more.
